Jesus Christ name is stamped all over this music. Keep doing it for the Kingdom Truth and Kirk the Kingdom music has evolved from the days of old. What do these Christian rap bashers want us to sing hyms forever if that is the case we will not save many young souls from this age because not many Churches that want to reach the youth are singing hyms because they want to reach the youth not run them away.

All I can say is this. On this night we enjoyed ourselves. If only y'all could have seen the people behind me....everyone enjoying themselves in the name of Jesus. Nothing wrong with having fun is Jesus name. Be very careful how you talk about what someone else is doing to drawn people to Christ. There may be a young man or a young girl who needs to be reached and this style of music is the only way to get to them to come to Christ. HAVE YOU HEARD OF HOLY HIP HOP. Come on now...stay current!!!!!
@acfenton80 very good point lets remember that initially all music was created to glorify God but its become perverted by the devil hip hop may be one of the only ways to reach the young generation and bring the teens back into the kingdom of God by the way lets keep both Kirk and Da Truth in our prayers they have both made huge contributions to the kingdom.
Kirk Franklin and Da' T.R.U.T.H. are both awesome revolutionaries in Gospel music. God bless you both as y'all continue your careers in the will of God!
I'm just saying be open to change, because most of those who oppose this new type of music appear to be new age pharisees who are so consumed with focusing on rules that they forget the lifestyle and the simplicity behind the pure love of Jesus Christ and the desire to express it.
I'm done discussing this issue, it's clear that we have two different views, although our motives are the same; we want Jesus to be represented accurately. So I say good luck & God bless. Stay open to inspiration.
Did it ever occur to that the saints have evolved? Sure Jesus is still the center of our lives and our actions, but that doesnt mean that our musical tastes have to be consistent with that of the times of Jesus Christ.
Listen to that song and tell me that's not Christ in the culture and that their motives aren't pure. A song about how He changed them it what Christianity is about;developing a relationship and allowing Him to change them.
He can't save people from a world he's imitating. God said that he knows your works in revelation. If He's so worried about saving souls, why is he imitating the very evil that people need to be saved from? We need to "Focus" on what God calls Holyness, not our own desires. Doing the humpdy hump in front of young people, doesn't tell them Jesus saves. "I like me" doesn't save people We are forbidden by God to do what the world does, esspecially when praising HIM.
We need to focus on souls and saving them rather than physical deeds. So he did a dance so what? He doesn't save souls in the 1st place, Jesus does and He will deal with him accordingly. If you listen to the song its all about the values of Christ and how he changed him, so let's reach the young ppl 1st and later discuss Mr. Franklin's dance choices.
little leven levens the whole lump. If there is sin in the slightest way when trying to "reach " people for Christ, then it is not trully effective. We as peple who say we love God, must stop the constant compromise. Our children are going to hell, but now they're going with imposter christian music, and replica worldly dances. Who are we representing when we do act as the world? Jesus said " Love not the world, neither the things of the world"
It's one thing to criticize a dance of the world, but calling their music 'imitation'? If that's the case then all Christian music other than spirituals is imitation. As they all stemmed from other secular types of music as well. Were they embraced at first? No, but now they are accepted. So be open minded. Their music probably reaches more young people than any other music for Christ ever.
When I say we should focus on saving souls, if we get hung up on every little thing we are going to never focus on the heart. I'm not saying that the dance isn't wrong, but I think the focus should be placed on them giving the youth a type of music that Christ Himself would be proud to call His own.
If our true heart is to get kids out of the world's sin system, then we wouldn't use the world's system to draw the kids. Many of kirk's song are sampled from the world, We lien on the ways of the world, because we get lazy in spiritual things. surely the God who create eveything can give an artist with an honest heart an ORIGINAL praise, that doesn't sound like the world, but makes the world envious of such annointed genius. God said to COME OUT from anong them.
Has it ever occurred to you that Christian music evolves along with the body of Christ? Saying that music is imitation is correct as everything that we have as Christian music is somewhat an imitation of the world. So as Christians we shouldn't be exposed to different types of music because the world has them? The world has the same clothes we do are we supposed to not wear those too? U might say that we wear the same things in a different manner. Same is my point for the new type of music.
The world doesn't have the same clothes we do. All the world has cloth and material, we fashion the cloth according to our surrounding and cultures. If we are Christian our cloth should be fashioned differently than the world's fashion. All the world has musical notes and scale. We fashion them according to our inspiration and culture. If we are new creatures in Christ,
Then God will give the instruction and inspiration to create a NEW SONG, one the world has never seen.
We don't shop in the same places as the world? Christians enjoy looking nicely too. Yes, we are supposed to dress modestly, but some worldly people dress modestly too. Does that mean that we must change the way we dress because they adapted to us? No. And the belief that we make our own clothes based on our culture would've made sense 200 hundred years ago;not now.
The song is a NEW inspiration as it IS an original creation of Jesus Christ. As for the music it has pure motives it seems that you're biased because of a prior misconception.
Also, even though we disagree I do still love you as a person in Jesus Christ and I just wanted to make sure that this doesn't become a personal battle rather than a discussion of issues.
How can we state that the music in it has pure motives or not? We are not in the minds of the artist. (unless the Spirit reveals) How can you say that the song is creation of JESUS CHRIST? can you see JESUS doing the humpdy hump infront of young people and children as he sings "I like me"? I used to listen to christian rap, but then I started reading the bible alot. The world used to copy the saints, now the saints copy the world, it's sad.
ok i understand where your coming from but hear me out...so are we only supppose to sit still and read hymnols noo. the bible said sing a new song unto the lord and thats wut there doing there singing a new song in fron of kid about CHRIST not lil wayne or jayz , drake or nicki minaj but the one and only jesus christ..so what your saying is that only the world can get pump for ungoldy thing but christiancant get pump for godly things. happy that jesus saved them and the lord like them ...
I hear you, and I understand your argument on the issue. However, A New song implies harmony, beat, rythm and lyrics. not new words on old beats, that inspire the humpdy hump. If it inspires worldly actions in a person's body, then it is inspired by the world. People are becoming lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. They fight tooth n' nail over somthing they like. but not over the very Word of God. We are to be holy. The humpdy hump isn't holy.
No, we don't change because the world adapts to us, but the problem is, we are adapting to the world, which should never be. The BIBLE made a distinction between holy and unholy. Im not against rap, however I am against the imitation and impersonation of hip hop. When we see christian rappers, they should be so different, that the world wants to copy them, but no, they are blending with the world, and the BIBLE states " bad company corrupts good morals" not the other way around.
This is an awesome performance. I love Kirk's music. He praises Gpd and everything that he does. Da Truth does the same thing what a mighty collaboration for the Kingdom of God.
people would accept vomit ,if someone gave it to them in Jesus' name. this is pitiful.

Doesn't the bible record that King David danced himself out of his clothes? I'm not sure that you can do that listening to the average hymn.
