Actually, that is incorrect as well. There are two possible contenders for the "Best" weapon in FFTA. Those are the Sequence, and the Sapere Aude. Each can only be obtained once. In addition to boosting nearly every stat (including jump and move), each time you normally acquire a second one, you instead get +1 to the Sequence's Attack, or +1 to the Sapere Aude's Magic. These weapons (and the Peytral armor and Acacia Hat) easily beat out the game's other items in time.

True, Paladin's can't wear the Acacia Hat (one of the few classes that can't), and Double Sword doesn't work with the Sequencer, since you can only get one. But in terms of raw power, it's the best. Besides, Double Sword is not the best support ability, since it doesn't combine with abilities. Ultima Shot is your main damage dealer, and the ideal support for it is Concentrate.

The best weapon is a leveled up sequence that has 255 damage. It takes roughly 60 hours to level up and you do it by playing the battle tourney mission over and over again. Mine is currently 170 attack. Its a pain in the ass to do but it is by far the best sword. My acacia hat has 100 res and my saphere aude has about 130 mpower.

You were close on both accounts. the most viscious looking one is a broad sword, the Eclipse (Double-edged sword made during an eclipse), same kind as the one you mentioned, the Estreledge (Faintly luminescent sword made of a fallen star)... the more powerful of the two is the Estreledge, but only by one point. So I give my Defender the Eclipse cause it's more B.A.
