I remember an obscure reference by him as being a "liberal" on C-SPAN once to promote his book Shadow War. But he's worked for WSJ and Washington Times! Is Sunday Journal also a right-wing publication?  What liberal would work for those? Other than Thomas Frank, who's like the only liberal on the list of opinion columnists at WSJ.

The X-ian Science Monitor does it ok. Also, the Catholic Worker paper is pretty good, especially their opinion editorials on religion/state, poverty, and human interest issues, and US foreign policy.

Yeah, "journalists" have become jokers alright.

Not to minimize his religious complaints against the paper, but you can tell he probably wasn't a great employee for them to have. Several times he threw up versions of the line "that wasn't in my job description." In the real world, right or wrong, that sort of foot dragging gets the rest of us minions fired.
