There are cars faster, better built, and better desighned, than the Firebird, but its not about facts and figures is it, realy you car'nt put into words the fasination of these cars, it goes above mere charector or looks. Im a fanatic of Firebirds and Camaros, in fact if it was a person that I had this much obsetion about it would be dame right unhealthy and the second gen is the one, theres just something about them. May future generations keep rebuilding and running these amazing cars.

Yeah, you might be right, if we do see Pontiac again, it probably will be Chevrolet/Pontiac Trans Am, I was reading back in 06 that GM/Pontiac was probably going to make a Trans Am with the 2nd gen bird graphic on the hood, but that was only a probability, a concept, but even though Pontiac and Chevy were under GM, they still had different philosophies, take for example in 1970, when the Camaro came with the 350 LT1, Pontiac still used their Ram Air IV 400, two totally different engines....

Thanks for the vid man, I own a 78 Formula I've been restoring, going to swap out the Olds 403 with a brand new LS7 from Kateck and mate it with the T56 trans from the C-5 Vette. I think it should turn out ok in the end. My 403 might be able to push me to a nice 11.5 but it just doesn't get me down the road like a 700HP LS7 would.
