from 0:19 - 0:27 was just like amazing, i love that shoulder hip reel toss thing at the end. could you possibly do a tutorial for me? it was just so spectacular looking =D
The square line isolation is what you're boggling at I guess, I could probably do a tute on that, I'll have to get a new camera cord, though. My old one broke...
The toss was just... letting go of the poi and then catching it again, thats all. :P It was just coming out of a hip reel and I went straight into something else, thats just practice.
Haha! I have no idea if you're taking the piss out of me or giving me praise. :P
I assume the gumby comment is about my awkward movement of my body. I'm generally awkward and doing stuff thats pretty new to me doesn't help either. (All of this stuff I'd only just gotten days previously, or some of it... that day.)
oye, sorry for the mis-understanding. In my head the reference to Gumby=bendiness and plane-changing to plane-bending. Hence you were making the poi act like Gumby. Twas, praise, twas praise.
Full serious-ness on the sunglasses too. I did a youtube double-take cause like a magician they seemed to pop on your head out of no where.
Nice work man, my buddy Exuro has been working on some of the same things, but you have expanded it in your own way. Great work and keep expanding those plane changes because they are sick!
Nifty! I like the plane bending out of the wall-plane antispin flower that you start up at 0:50--both the corkscrew and same-time corkscrew patterns make for an interesting shift. I'll definitely have to try that behind-the-head hybrid you do at the beginning :)
Theres a lot to play around with there, I've got a few variations up my sleeve, but I know I'm only scratching the surface, I'd love to see what you can come up with! :)
I just got back from making a video outside myself, you're right, in the sun it is quite warm indeed, I had to take off my shirt and work on my tan a little. By the way, that transition into corkskrew at 0.50 is pretty darn nifty man. Hopefully I'll see you soon, it's been a while.
Yeah, 0:50 is nice. Can be done with stall switching as well. (As pete pointed out to me) but I like it as a plane change if I get to do it with fire, as a stall switch for patterns.
So the square at 0:21 does nothing for you? I guess its not as clean as it used to be, that thing takes constant work to keep clean.
love the putting on the glasses

wait do you pull them off of behind your head the first time when you spin behind your back?

where did those sunglasses come from?

Would you believe magic?
Hahah, they were on my head and I knocked them down with one sweep of the hand, pushed them up onto my nose with another.

Its called poi, I think the song is Pam Berry by the shins... its definitely by The Shins anyway.

What?! Has no one noticed the super-smooth placement of the sunglasses at the beginning. Perhaps the best part.
On a more serious note, nice job playing gumby with the poi.

Hahah, I did like the sunglasses trick, the solution is more simple than you'd think.
No worries on the misunderstanding, it would have been a valid comment anyway. :D
It can get bendier than that, but it starts to look silly after a certain point.

Definitely liking the plane bending going on. I got some ideas for that corkscrew transition. It definitely is nifty. =]
