  • Lovely song. Thanks for your friend request Bill. I mainly use my other site ellicarol.

Will you add me on that site too. Thanks, Elli

  • Beautiful! I close my eyes and I'm in my childhood living room in the early 60's. My parents had this albim. How I miss those great days

  • I love it!! Both the song and the Magnavox.1962 was a great year! Only found this by searching whopfrog's channel, glad I did :0)

  • wow love the magnavox that is in mint

shape and that record you are play my mom and dad had the same one cool huh thanks for post this cool vid brought many smile's to me and my heart too

  • Wow - thanks for the walk down memory lane - this looks very similar to the stereo we had inour house ! My dad - being the handy guy he is - converted it into a cd player. I wish I had it in its original state to play all my records on !!

I love the song too !!!

  • If it is not a grounding problem it's probably a bad electrolytic capacitor. They cause a constant hum when they go bad.

  • I have an RCA from the same time period, but it hums and I can't figure out why.

  • can you play -never on a sunday please.

  • Sounds great! I have a similar model but it doesn't have radio, just a record player. It might even be mono, I'm not sure.

Where can you get new needles for these? I know that the one I have needs a new needle. Any help will be appreciated.

  • Some of them can be obtained on ebay. Magnavox used different types and brands of Cartridges. The one I have posted uses a Euphonics stereo cartridge. Magnavox did use a lot of Electro Voice.

  • Delicious melody !!!! great Costa!!!!! Perla.

  • On my next video of the stereo I will show more of the cabinet. It does have the record storage on the left, and it does have the real movable brass handles in front. The cabinet is Itlaian provincial in cherry wood, and it does have the red pilot light in the bottom right corner.

  • thank you for this. can you please show more video detail of the rest of the stereo?

this looks like the exact model we had in our living room as a kid.

over on the left side should be a storage section for LP's when you slide the top cover over

on the front should be these movable almost round metal handles

on the front right speaker grill should be a red light that comes on when the stereo is powered up

thanks again, this is so aweosme to see it again

  • Okay, I think I just took a ride in a groovy time-machine.. nice job! JJ : )

  • ... thanks for sharing this, JJ! Ya, this is definitely vintage w/ a really nice sound and "cancion muy bonita" thanks, maynardcat...

  • Can you, or someone tell me why some of these micromatic changer say "feather touch" on the tone arm, and some don't. I have had 4 or 5 of these kinds of turntables, 2 or 3 were Imperials, and the rest weren't, and none of them said "feather touch" on the arm, however, they all had feathers on them, I just don't quite get that, why some would have the label on it, and others wouldn't.

  • I am not sure,I do have an extra Micromatic changer, and I don't think it says feather touch, just more of a design on the metal trim. This changer may have been just introduced and it was probably more of an advertising thing, and something potential customers would notice. Emphasizing how much lighter their tonearms were than the competition, and easier on records.

  • I suspect you have it right on the advertizing aspect. I have a twin to the model you have, and it is the first time I've seen "feather touch" on the arm. But I have to add that it has a different cartridge than any other similar looking 600 series Colaro changer too. The entire cartridge flips over vs. the stylus, and after nearly 50 years - the cartridge is still quite compliant.
