@brittneydargusch21 I think it would be a good idea to cut the recipe in half, because there will be a tendency for the casserole to boil over in the oven in the smaller dish, unless you make less of it.
I made this last night for dinner. It was sooo easy to make and sooo good! This recipe will be going in my collection. Thanks Mrs. Betty for this wonderful recipe!
@furberry101 You could use hamburger (ground beef). It will have a milder taste, so you might want to add a *little* bit of ground red pepper as you brown the ground beef.
Betty, this recipe looks so delicious, but i'm afraid i'm not a big fan of sausage. I was wondering if i could substitute pepperoni in place of the sausage? I've tried so many of your recipes and they are all so tasty and easy. Thank you for sharing all of these amazing dishes with us. :)
@kat21sd I eat some of everything I make. I just limit myself to small portions. I also work out regularly and make sure to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables!
I'm glad Im not the only one in the world who stands at the kitchen and makes food, instead of going out. because it's a lovely dish, and easy, and can be made in any variation.s, thanks for posting! You're cute :)
i made this friday night and my 5 year old son and my fiance LOVED it. and it's very hard to get something that they both like :) i even like it better than lasagna because it has a spicier taste and it seems to be more filling! thanks betty!!!
Thank you so much for posting! I am origionally from Louisville, and am now in Texas. I was homesick but your recipes remind me of things my mom made. This looks awesome.

This looks soooo good! Will it be okay if I left out the ground beef but kept the sausage in? Im not sure if it would unbalance the taste or not? Because I don't eat ground beef
Yes, that would be fine. It wouldn't change the taste or consistency much. This is one of those dishes where you can change the type of pasta, the types of cheese, the flavor of the sauce, and, yes, the meat! Thanks for your question!
Thanks for replying! well it would just be for my husband, son and myself! so would i just half the ingredients? could i just use one layer for the cheese, and use shredded mozarella instead of sliced?my family loves pasta especially my son! me and my family are very well thankyou Betty!
Yes, you could do just one layer--and that should work out about right for you! It's always nice to hear from you! I'm glad you and your family are well! Have a great day!
I would use this to serve 6 adults, assuming you have some salad and bread to go along! Nice to hear from you...Thanks for your kind wishes! I hope you and your family are fine!
