Rick Berman and Jerry Goldsmith would've had at it. Berman fired Ron Jones in spite of his critically acclaimed work dramatic scoring of Star Trek TNG during the first 3 seasons. According to Jones, Berman "always considered music an intrusion", and forcibly changed the dramatic scoring to generic wallpaper songs shortly after firing Jones after his scoring in "The Best of Both Worlds".

Star Trek TMP wasn't my favorite but it sure beats the hell out of some of the later perversions like Deep Sh-t 9 and Voyager. Space is supposed to be really freaking dangerous and the Klingons are supposed to be massive bad asses. They lost their edge on TV with too many lame episodes of DS9, Voyager, the prequel Enterprise, and the first two seasons of the next generation.
