  • I believe Kody is trying to pull your son to the side .... My sister screamed as if she was drowning one day and Bear jumped in after her and dragged her to steps by clamping onto her arm...... My sister was never allowed in the pool again, every time she did go in Bear would jump in after her.....

  • I think everyone should start calling them Magwa.....this is how you say it....Ma (like the MO in molly)...g (like in gas)....wa (like the WA in wash)...Magwa!!!!

Its a word that says it all...friendly, intellegent, huge(MEGA), funny, and cute!!!

but MAGWA is for female...ROGWA is for males!!!

  • Wow, my Pyr hates the water!!!

  • awwww so cute lol i have to great Pyres also, both girls Kirby and Whitney, check out Whitney on the video "fat dog breaks into kitchen, epic win" lol its hilarous

  • Great video.

  • I can't believe your Pyr swims and plays with a toy. I 've never had one that did either of those things.

  • my pyranees doesnt like water

  • the dog is so cute

  • I have a pyre!!! Her name is Delaney! She is 6 months, going on 7, and 80 lbs! Even the vet said that was big! I have had pyres all my life, even fostered litters, and pregnant moms, and none of them have been dis big! Also i help out my mom with everything pyre like! And I have been around dem my whole life!!! That was da first dog I ever owned! They ROCK

  • All I can think about is how much hair will end up in the pool after the pyr swim.

  • i love your dog & i love your pool & i love the way your kid plays with the dog & god bless you !!!!

  • this is funny. we also have the exact same dog and his name is cody... lol

  • aww i just love big dogs! how much does he weigh?

  • Our great pyreneese does the same play biting. It never hurts and he has never left a mark. THey are deffinitely a playful breed!

  • OM Gosh Kody loves water my pyr. Layla she has a heart attack when I try to give her a bath! And she's only 3 months old!

  • Hahaha, I completely understand play biting, my Akita does that all the time. Its just the way dogs play with each other, so often they can treat other people messing with them as other dogs.

  • That is so cool. Our pyrenees HATES water. He prolly thinks he's too fine to get his coat wet! :D

  • @RandomDotters i have had 5 pyrenees and they all hated water the theory being where they are from they would freeze to death if the got that wet.

  • very cute : )

  • OMG thats so cute I have a Great Pyrenees too, I love him one of my favorite breeds ever they are so playful and protective.

  • I just got a girl one today. Shes so cute

  • you're so lucky that your GP isn't afraid of water cause mine is..... long story

  • you're so lucky that your GP isn't afraid of water cause mine is..... long story

  • you're so lucky that your GP isn't afraid of water cause mine is..... long story

  • @valetpkr nice lol

  • @valetpkr haha that made me laugh Great Pyrs are white! some have brown/black ears like tats silly chvyman95!

  • it like Jaws.

  • How the hell did a shark end up in an urban swimming pool. This has to be fake.

  • Wonderful dogs. My aunt has a fondness for the breed. Great with kids. I received a nip on the arm once (still have the scar!). However, that was my fault. I overstepped the boundary, where GP fun becomes a little too rough for mere primates.

  • it sorta looks like mine.

  • My boys would sink like a rock.

  • oh my pyrenees loves swimming

  • mine only goes in untill about his knees

  • A good looking dog, but I bet it would be hot for them in Texas.

  • There's acutally a lot of them in Texas, their fur actually cools them off as well as keeps them warm, so as long as theyre not in prolonged excessive heat (like our stupid 110degree summers) they're fine :) A lot of ranchers use them to protect flocks and what not

  • My pyr always falls into the water. it's really funny. She's so clumsy.

  • our pyrenees is terrified of water

  • I once did that with mine. and after we got out all i saw was fur on top of the pool. (it was fun though)

  • wow im not sure if my 6 yr old pyreenese swims. i think i will go throw her in the pool.( if i can pick her up)

  • @kaymad : Would you do that with your child as well??

  • My Pyr is a mud magnet!

  • My pyrs love to swim in our muddy ponds, but they're not excited to get in the bath tub I have for bathing them. Must be something wrong with clean water !!!

    Love your video.

OH... that play bite... might be the dog just taking a drink, actually. I see my girl do that in the pond as she swims.

  • Mine likes the sea had to laugh when he dived in thought dog in water out lol

  • i have a gp mix and he likes to play bite. i cant get him near the tub but when it comes to a lake he just jumps in

  • my pyreneese loves to swim

  • Hmmm, mine is scared of the water. We've gotten her to go in at the local dog park occasionally but she never gets submerged.

  • We had a Great Pyr named keni (named after the Keni Indians in Alaska) when i was little and she was our sheep dog!!! she use to play in the feed trough and in the water buckets.i think she thought she was a goat.they make perfect Gard dogs too. they are so loyal and loving to their owners but if their owners are threatened they will protect!!! i loved keni she was a great dog,,she even survived Parvo but died when she got tangled in some extra fence! it was so sad but i will never forget her!

  • Great video.

Great Pyrenees are the most beautiful and local friends a person can have, thank you.

  • My Pyr LOVES water and mud. When he was a puppy he would climb into his water dish every chance he got. Keeping him out of the water is the challenge.

  • No their feet are not webbed, this is surprising, my Pyrs never liked water!!!

  • My folk's Pyr had to be put down this past summer, but she LOVED swimming when she was a pup! Oh, and she didn't like a child swimming in the pool alone... that was the one time when our Pyr swam as an adult... didn't like kids alone in the pool... interesting

  • Living with Pyrs the last 15 years I can tell you their feet are webbed, although not to the extent of our Newfie. The Pyrs love swimming, but they "doggie-paddle" like most other breeds. The Newfoundland actually does a breast stroke with the forearms extended out to the sides for greater power.

If not clipped regularly, the claws (nails) of giant breeds can easily tear a swimming pool liner.

It is quite common for large dogs to bite at the water while swimming.

  • i know they have a extra dew cleaw but are there feet webbed

  • yes

  • Beautiful dog! From the comments I hear that Pyrs hate swimming, but does anybody know if Anatolian Shepherds like it? We have two Pyr/Anatolian mixes, turning a year on March 29th 2009, and we introduced the kiddie pool to them when they were two or two and a half months old. They sniffed around it and they were curious, but they wouldn't swim in it no matter how much I called them! The Doxies are aging and weren't interested in swimming either so I was alone, LOL.

  • mine love water when we go for walks they hunt rivers down etc to jump in!

  • da smassas hipp

  • Some like it, some don't.

  • Someone forgot to tell him that Pyrs HATE water!! LOL!!

  • lol.. so true. My Pyr wouldn't go swimming to save his life. He hates hates hates the water. He's also freakishly tall for a Pyr.

  • ya same mine is like scared of his water bowl when people are around because he hates water so much its crazy but he is the best dog ever.

  • It's so funny how he bites at the water! It looks like he's trying to attack... so cute! I have a pyr and she's never been swimming, I don't think she would!

  • omg! that' so strange. my pyreneese would NEVER go swimming!

  • i'm amazed!! i have to great pyrenees and neither one will get within fifty feet of a garden hose even!!

  • I have a Great Pyr too and he won't touch the water! We went to the lake today and my Chow just jumped in as usual... but my Pyr just stood there and watched...as usual.

  • Same here. We took her to this big dog event at the pool and she jumped in once, quite obviously hated it, and didn't go near deep water again.

  • this is kinda funny because my pyrenees angel doesnt like water. she likes snow :P she wont go in our pool. and when we take her to the beach, all she does is dig (cuz she isnt allowed to dig in our backyard) and when we wake on the side of the beach, she backs away from the water like its gonna pull her in. but she is so cute! i absolutely love my dog

  • that is so strange... never EVER seen a Great Pyrenees like water.

    Snow, definitely.

    But water? lol.

I definitely know mine detested water, but he was still my baby <3

  • i have a great pyrenees who wont even get his nose wet!

  • I have the same kind of dog. and he looks just like yours. My dogs name is Hiro. hehe. But yeah, my dog loves the water. We have a pond and he always goes inside it. he's crazy for the water. That's the first thing he does when he gets out of his cage. (:

  • I've owned a Pyrenees for about ten years now, and she has never liked the water. She has had ponds and two pools to swim in and as far as she will get is her feet wet. That's amazing video, I didn't think this breed cared for water. My Fleetwood just doesn't like to get wet. Congrats on your triumph.

  • i own a pyrenean called Meeko and mine has never liked water too, we took him to the lake district and as natural he prefered to climb rather then swim

  • i got a dog like this yesterday....this is torcher to the dog

  • did you not see the dog willingly jump into the pool by itself? it's not like they forced him to go in!

  • hehe, its not funny to swim with a dog, they have so sharp claws, it feels not so nice.

  • My mistake. I was trying to respond to HolyWolfSpiritEvil's comment on the next page who said that she has a "reddish one with green eyes". I did not realize that it didn't post the way I intended. I have a Pyr here at my feet, and assure you that I do realize yours is one. I apologize for not double checking, although I think the "moron" was a bit unnecessary...Beautiful boy anyway.

  • haha

  • is that cody sprouse?

  • disney's finest!!!!

  • so cute

  • Nice video, I've added it to our forum

  • That is so cool. Our Pyrs would take a 2 day hibernation snore if they tried that LOL.

  • thats a big ass pool!!

reminds me of the time when my pyrenees jumped in the canal...

  • ih ave a mix of Great Pyrenees and lab and he is just the biggest baby he is so nice i love him to death

  • cool!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOl he is like a gator

  • So sweet I hope our Hank (a Pyrenees) will take to the water too! I know our min pins do not! Check out their video! Merry Christmas!

  • This video makes me laugh! I love it!

  • i have one! its 3 months old i hope it does this when it gets older

  • AWWH! thats wonderful! i just got one of these dogs recently and her name is mocha, and she's light brownish-red.. with green eyes.. i love her to death. i'm glad to see that (with no doubt) she's going to be pretty!

  • Well that's obviously not possible since "these dogs" don't come in that color!

  • that is so funny, what a pretty boy he is, my girl dont like the pool :( she likes the BATH TUB :) she will get in it even if there is no water....

    thanks for sharing

    5 stars ;)

  • LOL, look at the tail when he Pyr's soaked :p

  • Great video I wish IKE had a pool to jump into !
