Not sure How much a used or reman engine is, But we spent about $700 the rebuild this one with parts and sent the heads away to be refinished. hope that helps. if you find a reman engine for cheaper than that and you have an engine hoist and a couple friends to help than go that route. We chose to rebuild because we didn't like the warranties that came with reman engines.

I picked up a MINT 93 Stealth ES with a toasted tranny and WAY too many miles on the engine. I'm no stranger to pulling, rebuilding and slapping back together; however, I've never done an import and the 4 cams are scaring the shit out of me. How hard was it to time that bad boy? And how long did your rebuild take?

I have a 97 3000gt and I am having trouble removing the transmission. I have seperated it from the engine by about 3 inches and it won't drop. I have removed all bolts and both cv joints, any tips?

yes better acceleration, and about $700 if you buy aftermarket. And alot of time. You have to be very careful if you want to leave the trans in the car took nearly 2 hours to shake the engine off of the tranny. Buy very much worth it.

So buying the pistons and everything it only costs 700? wtf.... im looking at new pistons, camshafts, springs, rods etc. for my 97 3000gt and for the pistons that i want, 900 each... if im lucky. Any tips for rebuilding these engines?

you dont need new cams. you need: bearings/crank ground and polished block hone new pistons/rings cylinder heads machined valve stem seals head gaskets misc/ gaskets valve job water pump and belt/tensioner/idler pulley.
