I had to listen a few times to appreciate it properly, which i find to be the case with most good music. Great work with the Loop pedal. I've got a boss loop station that i really need to learn to use properly. how long did it take you to work out the timing when looping something? a lot of times i'm a hair off and when it loops around it's crazy, sometimes it works out cool but not usually.
I'm not sure how long it took, but it was pretty natural from the start. Depends on what you're looping though- the longer the pharse you want to loop, the more chances you have of the accuracy being a little off.
Actually this is one of my favorite tunes of mine as it accomplished everything I set out to do with it, with each part representing a different voice. Sorry if I don't think it's a racket. Neither does my wife ;)
That's just the list price- the street price is a lot less. This one was also purchased used, so it cost about as much as one of those Fender reissues.
A new singlecut 4-string one would be about $3200, depending on where you get it. Bolt-on double cut models are a fair deal less. I'm actually selling an Elrick 4-string singlecut for around $2000.
If I had the money right now man id buy it off of you.
I had actually never heard of Elrick basses before I watched your videos. But I soon after researched them and found that I liked almost every detail and aspect of the description of the singlecut 4 string.
About 8 1/2 pounds. Most Elricks (particularly the ash ones) are known for being very light- I've had six and the only one that's fairly heavy is my walnut/wenge/ebony fretless. Is your bass an Elrick?
Thanks for the kind words. I use a Boss VF-1 multieffects and I'm using a distortion that I built on it. I use a stereo rig so at times I'm using both a straight bass signal mixed with the effect and other times just the effect. I have no clue what to call the style I'm using in "Hungry" :D Most of my stuff is similar to jazz or rock but never fits into either category.
YOu are one of the most amzing bassists i've seen! Not afraid to think outside of the box and do things differently. Your 'Hungry' Video has to be my favorite. Btw, what effect are you using aside from the looper? and what style of music would you call 'Hungry'?
Nice bass!

You have great technique, beautiful equipment, and absolutely no ear for music. I wonder how your wife can bear living with this racket.

i'm really digging these elricks. i like how pretty it sounds in some videos and how pissed off it can sound like in this one.
