I loved this movie!!! Also, was I the only one who thought that the whole thing just reeked of Steinbeck? The whole plot was very Grapes of Wrath-ish.

That 'sarcasm' scene was hillarious. I half-loved this movie, and was half-annoyed by it.

Cute, plucky youngster? Angsty teen? Crotchety, foul-mouthed grandpa? Of course the characterizations are cliched, but there's nothing wrong with cliches if the material transcends them. That's why this movie is so good.

It was hard to concentrate on this review because the whole time I was watching I kept thinking, "Hey, watch the road dude!" So if you want me to pay attention to it, don't do it while you're driving. Don't review and drive!
Anyhow, I love this movie. Everyone was awesome. I love Steve Carell, and Abigail Breslin was super-cute! But most of all I love movies like this because they feel real... you know, it's subtle and in your face and awkward and beautiful.
One of my favourites, for sure.

I didn't like how you used the word "forced" quirky because I feel it's a natural expression of what screen writer wishes to convey. I find that when you use the word forced it should be for things that don't work out. But overall it was a nice review.
