I love country music even though I live in thug and rap lovin Los Angeles. I was born here but can't wait to move to where there are lots of small towns, green pastures, horses, and cowboys.
@btownmxer, you got that right! You'll look far and wide to find country music that has as much character as these guys put into a song. I really like that way they bring the studio to the stage.
Miss all you guys.... and especially my baby (Dario) The worlds best Sound Man around.... Many Many happy days with these guys.... Alot of good memories and I wouldnt trade-em for the world !! :-) Now I got him forever (married him) and will never let go !! :-) HA
Quite simply, they don't make bands like this anymore. Each member had an area of expertise - and that truly shines through in their music. From Larry Stewart's lead vocals, to the Hornsby-esque piano of Dave Innis, to John Dittrich's flawless drum work, these guys did what bands were supposed to do. Each member performs his individual job at such a high level, that when you hear them TOGETHER, the result is a sound like this video. Now THIS is music...
@LittleFeatWillin And don't forget Paul Gregg's rough vocals to add his unique edge to the songs that they really rocked out in, not to mention John Dittrich's nearly unique ability to sing AND play drums at the same time! Few in the industry have ever been able to do that. But the ones that come to mind put John in league with talents none other than Don Henley, Phil ollins, and believe it or not, Karen Carpenter!
I don't know what the words mean exactly, but I think I get the gist: he has a soft spot for loose women, and one such woman stole his heart. Great song!
I used to think the Eagles exemplified harmony excellence. Then Restless Heart came along and redefined harmonies!!! I was over the moon when I first heard this group, babbling constantly about their vocals and musicianship, running out to buy their albums as they became available, singing along with all the hits -- what happy memories, and listening to (and watching) their videos here on You Tube is happy./sad, There's been no one since to compare with Restless Heart. No one.
Some of the best harmonies ever came from this group....Sad Larry left at the wrong time and doomed the band during what could have been their best time to be way bigger than any band of that time or ever.......
@MargieDobbins I don't know Margie, I have an old flame out there who epitomized this song, yet I never meant it as a cut-down. I loved her, couldn't help it, right from the very start. And there was no way she was ever going to love me the same way. That was decades ago, and my heart STILL aches. But just because she came into my life, bowled me over and then was gone, there are no hard feelings. She just ran me down like a fast movin' train. Maybe that's what HE meant.
@runnkd I feel you, man. hope you recover. I really appreciate country & western for its beauty. some brothas in the 'hood were lookin' at me funny because I blew Restless Heart out of my speakers. my answer, "Yeah, and what?"
@MargieDobbins ------actually it can be , good.. cause sometimes.. a person hit your heart like a fast moving train and u fall in love with them.. if it all works out.. u get to be together..
I stopped listening to top forty country around the mid 90's. I just flat out lost the love for it. I miss bands like Restless Heart, and many more from this time in country music. I'm not saying that all of its bad now, but it is most certainly is not the same.
I have to ask Ralph73 any Waylon over there? He is my love. Anyway, thank you. I was just trying to find anything I like country over the last 20 years, hard to do, Johnny and Waylon are gone, not much left.
I was in the music business when this band was big....they don't make them like this anymore!!!..... Bad management messed up many good acts back then!!
Great Great Music. A lot of guys and gals in the music industry need to go back and see what real music was and is. I think theyve all been blinded by the music videos........Not much talent out there now just eye candy.
lve with her and Can't look in her eyes and She's out of my league and She's taken my heart But she doesn't know what she's done and Am I just fooling myself That she'll stop the pain and Living without her and I'd go insane and when you look at me that way and No matter how I try to convince myself and this t

I'm 77 years old and have two IPOD shuffles, a 1 gb with 200 songs and a 2 gb with 400 songs. Restless Heart is one of my all time favorite bands, and Fast Moving Train is on both of my IPODS. I think it is the best song from this very talented group. I was in the Air Force from 1951 until 1971, and sure wish this technology had been available to me when I was serving in Morocco, Pakistan, Libya and Germany.
@Ralph73 thank you for what you did for us and yes I agree,,, Restless Heart was an Awesome band,,thye were my 80s country group,,, with Rick Springfield, and others,,,,
@Ralph73 You, my friend, ROCK! I love this comment!...Restless Heart is one of my very favorite bands, too. Thank you for your service. God bless you, Ralph.
This song makes me think of a girl from my past, She loved me and then left me. I wonder if she ever thinks about me like I think of her when I hear this song
This is real country, brings back memories when i was stationed at Ft. Sill , OK and listening to real music. i would sit in the veening s and look t the Wichata Mts.
I went to a Restless Heart concert when they were opening for Kenny ROgers back in late 80's i think. Great vocals. They harmonize so well. Kenny spent most of his time talking... RH sang. They were great... oh the memories...
One of the best under-rated bands ever. I saw them at a concert at a fair just before their break up. For what ever reason I told the wife "I hope they don't break up...they'll never last". A couple of months later...poof...no more RH. So sad.
The emotions these guys play with in this song are absoutly amazing...They tell one heck of a story for alot of people...There is alot of meaning in this song for me also...Way to go everyone.
there's a lot meaning in this song, you just got to listen they just don't make county like this anymore I know I've got my own fast moving train!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song takes me back to Stugeon Lake in Northern Ontario catching Lake Trout. We had a sterio in our boat people knew we were there for the fish and great music.. One of the best bands ever.
I just lied on another song about one minute ago, when I put the title in, it didnt not return with the video. I thought it was deleted, so I am sorry. Best Song!!!! I remember hearing this when it first came out when I was 11. I LOVED IT SINCE THEN!!!!!
Country music just isn't the same as it was in the late 80s and early 90s. Granted George Strait it still out there recording; but, what's happened to greats like Restless Heart, etc, etc, etc, etc!!!
I always loved this song but to be honest its just as haunting as the bluest eyes in texas but can someone plse help me? I don't know what this song is about?
He's likening the effect the woman had on him to being hit by a train. Her power over him from the beginning, the power she had over his emotions, and the devestation of his broken heart after she left him, all happened as fast, and as tragicly, as if a train wreck had happened inside his chest.
The name of the CD was Fast Movin' Train, this was the title track. It was released in late 1990. I still remember; I was still in Navy boot camp at the time and happened to hear this song for the first time on the radio at the field house. Couldn't wait to get out so I could go buy the tape... :-)
Gosh..... it's ashame that we don't hear good country music like this anymore. Songs like this one in particular with that dance beat, and the one you just want to turn up and hit the road to.
Actually Larry Stewart left the band in 1992 at the peak of the bands success to pursue a solo career. He reunited briefly in 1998 for 3 new tracks on a greatest hits album and later rejoined the band in 2002. They are one of my favorite country bands of all time and no telling how great they could have been although like you said they are back together. Thanks for the video, it's one of my favorite Restless Heart songs.
great, very underrated band with a string of hits...lead singer left and that was it, just like lonestar...egos, why don't they stay together and keep making great music?
Larry Stewart left the band only for a little while to be home with his family more. He has long-since re-joined the band, they are back together, making music, and touring.
Well, just get things right, it was Minnesota Fats (Rudolph Wanderone) in the video. He actually lived just up the right from my home here in southern Illinois (Dowell) for the past 40 odd years. He has now passed on. He use to shoot pool with the students from SIU for beers at a local pool hall, real character.
Brings back memories of a bittersweet time in my life. March 1990-October 1990. I was so madly in lust with T. Steadman. I can still see him and all the feelings we shared. But oh well.....
I rode a bus for 24 hours straight to see Melanie Sampson, all the while listening to this song over and over, which had only that week been released. I feel you......
I just tonite saw these guys perform in Abilene, Texas at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center telethon. They were superb. Performed all their hits, and were extremely down to earth and gracious. If you get a chance to see them live: DO IT!!!
Larry Stewart & the guys are still the best in the business, with timeless songs & lyrics. All these guys need is some radio airplay with some fresh songs, they are as good as any country group out there.
My mother kissed Larry Stewart at a concert in front of my father, at my father's suggestion. I got the picture to prove it

The woman in this video is too skinny. I like a gal with some meat on her.
