  • Ok so i cut it just likebu said and i was sooo excited to eat it... Then i took a bite and almost puked!!!! I spit it out cuz DANG papayas a fricken DISGUSTING!!!

  • @kenzie0908000

Try buying it before it is ripe (still green), and score it gently with a knife to release the bitter latex liquid, or "milk". Don't cut it too deeply, or the bitter liquid will be absorbed into the "meat" of the fruit!

Let it sit for several hours until the cuts along the skin are sealed, then rinse it off.

Wait a few days until it ripens to a yellow, orange or pinkish color (depending on the type of Papaya)...

Now try cutting it. I guarantee you it will be very sweet. :)

  • @KiKisBelly I will try this and see, thanks.

  • @kenzie0908000 Are you sure it was ripe?

  • Mmmmm, delicious papaya. My favorite tropical fruit. I can make good papaya sorbet as well.

  • Papaya is such a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL fruit , especially if it has a golden orange yellow hew on the inside with the black seeds in the middle. I look for the 14 inch papayas that have that color on the inside with the sweet smell, but can't find them.
