The beach views are of La Digue island in the Seychelles, not St Thomas. Those distinctive granite outcrops are on Anse Source d'Argent beach. The moonlit bar may (or may not) be in St Thomas. If you look, other islands are visible in the distance, which makes the Seychelles seem the likely location for the whole shoot. Certainly earlier Bacardi ads were shot in La Digue. Spookily for me (in light of my comment five months ago -- see below), I'm now working there!
Actually it was filmed in the Virgin Islands, I believe the St. Thomas area. My brother is in the commercial. He was cast as talent while working on the grip flicks crew.
Back in the days without Youtube, Bacardi actually took the trouble to send me this AD on VHS, for free. I too love this AD. I long to find out where it was filmed! Thanks so much for uploading.
