While everyone cares about cliche rock music from mediocre first person shooters that's the same as the first in the series, *COUGHBLACKOPSCOUGH*, there's masterpieces like this that are left ignored.
I feel like I just came home, back to my childhood. and...it's the same as it ever was. this is by far, one of the best remade tracks because it sticks to the originals atmosphere so much.
I'm diggin this much more than Ecruteaks version. A much better homage to the original in terms of the song itself, but when it comes to feel of the two different areas both versions do very well.
It sounds too much like it's not 8-bit Midi? Too much like it's improved over it's original?
Actually try comparing the sound quality between DPP and HGSS, it has been improved. For example compare the Frontier Brain battle theme between the DPP and HGSS vers.
actually I think gold was the first pkmn game I played when I was little...but it was like when I was 8 or so and I borrowed it from a friend that has moved long ago...so sadly I can't play it anymore :(
i dont know why but as soon as i start hearing this song, i just start crying. people don't understand that these songs meant alot to us when we were younger and still do. 18 years old going on 19 in February still a pokemon gamer.
so far, this is the best remix of the original i've heard. I was getting dissapointed in few of the remixs especially violet and olivine city's remix(WAY to much instruments).
Come to think of it - it makes sense they have separate themes for the cities, as the ancient and Asian-influenced Ecruteak theme would be misplaced in a plain sea town.
This is the song that played in both Ecruteak and Cianwood in the original. Ecruteak first, of course, being the fourth town and Cianwood being the seventh I think.
You're telling me now Ecruteak and Cianwood have different songs?
....I want to slow dance to this. :I

well, maybe it works like D/P/Pt and there are 2 versions to each town(and a few routes) and there is a daytime and a nighttime version.

Near Cianwood CIty is the Safari Zone and Hidden Tower. In the Hidden Tower you can get Groundon , Kyorge , or Rayquaza.

There's two different versions of the song in the code, I'm guessing so. It's the same melody just...arranged differently.

@MasterJace yup same melody just different arrangement by the original writer Go Ichinose
Guitarist500 1 year ago
@VGK1337 Ecruteak City is the sixth town you visit, home of the fourth gym
Cianwood City is the eighth/ninth town you visit, home of the fifth/sixth/seventh gym (as Chuck, Jasmine, and Pryce can be fought in any order)
they now have different songs, Ecruteak's sounds Japanese to fit in with the town more
with GB sounds on they have the same song
hjt091 1 year ago
Still epic. And yeah, I'm gonna go with this one being Cianwood, and the other Ecruteak.

Don't you mean that lots of GS parts are in the D/P themes?
After all, GS cam out first, and HGSS are remakes of GS.
