I wonder if it actually was, since it seems to fit into the storyline so well. George Michael has just taken a plate full of eggs to George Senior in the attic, so there weren't any eggs left in the fridge. Seems like something that would have only come out after quite a few rewrites...

@toneeeeeee I don't know about this scene specifically, but I'm pretty sure parts of this show were "retroscripted", which basically means that they'd give a rough outline of the story to the actors, who would ad-lib around it, and then the writers would work the ad-libs into the script. Pretty cool stuff. :D
