  • does anyone have the lyrics to this? :)

  • 1:33 when she scrunches her nose as she sings "oh Johnny". honestly the most precious darling ever

  • She’s so sweet, she’s got sugar beat!

  • Peggy's birthday !!! Just as pretty and sweet as ever !

  • Happy Birthday Peg ,Still the best in my book. God Bless !

  • this gave me a boner

  • God how adorable can you get.

  • Lovely.

  • Beautiful!

  • I was in 6th grade when this song was popular and I appreciated finding it on youtube.

  • the first time i heard this on tv...i thought she had the hiccups.

  • peggy was my fav of the sisters...

  • Not kathy peggy

  • I love Kathy :) she's my favorite

  • Oh boy, lol.

  • @saynotodarwin Second oldest... Peggy. My favorite !!!!!

  • I though that was a song from an MGM cartoon called Swng Shift Cinderella. It had a woman that looked a lot like Bette Davis and a wolf. The cartoon woman sang Oh Whoopie.

  • how cute is this :)

  • She is amazingly adorable! I could watch her all day. Her smile and the way she sings is so sweet, innocent and sincere. I love this video.

  • i like it thx

  • Folks, my apologies for the "comments removed". I allowed a couple of visitors to use my computer and they proceeded to make comments I didn't approve of so I removed them. However, I would like to say how much I loved all 4 of the Lennon Sisters. When I was a young boy I had tremendous crushes on both Janet and Peggy. So thank you, ahoneanatwo for bringing back some great memories. And Janet and Peggy, wherever you are...this (now) old man still loves the both of you.

  • saw this on the lawrence welk show the other day, captures the time that america was in perfectly

  • She's Great !!! very nice !!!

  • They all had lots of charisma. Many people had trouble telling the McGuire Sisters apart, but not the Lennons.

  • she's perfect.

  • Agreed

  • Wow.

  • I know Dee Dee was,but I don't know about Peggy,but as you say, almost a certainty !

  • She had to be Prom Queen at school,no way she could have missed !

  • She performs this so well. A gorgeous talent

  • oh no

  • If you know the legendary original Wee Bonnie Baker version, which is perfection, Peggy Lennon actually raises the bar a bit.

  • this is class! it sounds like oh wooop Johnny! Just lay off the fake smiling love would ye? but good anyway! ha ha!

  • That smiling was mandated by Welk! She had no choice..

  • I don't think Welk had to "mandate" that any of the Lennons smile when they performed. It was their natural inclination and also probably their father taught them to smile while singing. Anyway, their smiles always seem sincere to me.

  • So adorable.

  • Wow, this is a wonderful song, and she sings it so well! Its unusual but darling!

  • Well go somewhere else,We love it!!!!

  • screw you, you don't know anything about this video.

  • I think you need a new computer, sounds great to me!!! And everybody else it seems!!!!!

  • I just cannot understand why you think it's good! She squeaks all the time... like "ohoo johnny ohooo johnny hw u cn lvee" she barley sings it either. just... EW

  • She has Wee Bonnie Baker down pat. Not a parody but a right-on replication. What a beauty. What a talent.

  • Oh it's so cute ♥

  • Now I know what they mean by the "cobra stare". I just can't stop looking into Peggy's eyes when she sings this number.

We know that she is doing a send-up but how soft and lovely are her vocals. Peggy, we are lucky that they could record your voice so clearly nearly 50 years ago.

  • I think your both!! If you don't like this why do you keep comming back?????

  • i keep coming back to prove the point about this *cough* singing.... sorry sqeaking.

  • Its better than anyone ever on American Idol, thats for sure !

  • HAHAH agreed.

  • By several orders of magnitude. They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Sadly.

  • Oh I'm in love!!!!

  • Peggy and Janet are my favorites of them.

  • Pretty Little Peggy, 4ever the utmost dreamiest and ultra-cutest!

  • She is doing an imitation of wee Bonnie Baker who popularized the song in 1930/1940.

  • remember old droopy cartoon where little red riding hood sings "oh woofy"?it sounds so similar...

  • Beautiful Girl and what talent !!!

  • My Mom always sang this song to us kids about her dad...Johnny...Now you're with him, Mom..miss you !!!!

  • She was adorable and talented..just like her sisters. I great up on the Welk's show and the Lennon Sisters...and the dancers, etc. A lot of people got their "starts" there..despite all the hooplah about how Lawurence and his corporation took advantage.

It was that great champagne "bubble" music!

    J

  • She sounds like she is imitating Kathy Linden who recorded this song before 1960, but its possible she was not aware of Kathy Linden's version. Anyway she couldnt be more cute , sweet or pretty . Great video.

  • Thanks for the info on Kathy Linden.

  • An interesting mixture of "Aww".. and trying to leave the room without letting her know or taking your eyes off her, if that makes sense?
