  • No, it's not faked. It's called cataplexy, and it's a symptom of narcolepsy. Cataplexy is defined as a sudden loss of muscle strength caused by some strong emotion. For narcoleptic dogs, that means chasing a ball or getting a doggy treat. For humans with narcolepsy, it's most often triggered by laughter or excitement or fear. Ever laughed so hard you couldn't stand up? That was cataplexy. Everyone does it. Narcoleptics just do it a lot more often.

  • Last few seconds of the clip all I could hear was this caption. : "Must. eat. treat. befor.....zzzzzzzzzzzzz"

  • well maybe they tell him to lay down!!! he points to the floor duhh if it was that disease we would look he«s dizzy and them fall asleep...

    FAKEEE

  • This condition is called paradogthrombolytichaemotoma.

  • lol at your info on this vid!!!! XD

  • every time he goes to eat it, he passes out, the poor thing just loves food that much.

  • @Chaotickid88 D: How sad. :)

  • well different cases od narcolepsy in animals are triggered differently, some cases fall asweep when nothing is happening, and/or they are not being exited by anything other dogs have it triggered when there are high levels of excitement (being fed, being around other dogs, going for a walk), which may explain why you have seen some dogs with narcolepsy react differently to whats happening around them.

  • Because the excitment level isn't high enough they might get excited but not excited enough.

  • It is triggered with high levels of excitement or fear. Every dog gets excited by food.

  • It's because it's triggered by high levels of excitement, and food is very exciting for just about every animal.

  • best watch dog ever!

  • is it with certain food or all kinds of food

  • i saw this dog on tv

  • Aw...

  • well, i guess it would be extremely difficult for him/her to get overweight! poor thing though! looks so cute asleep! ^_^

  • My dog does that. I think she has narcolepsy.

  • my penis has narcolepsy... it is triggered by being in proximity with homosexuals and fat women... i take prescription viagra for the sickness

  • then cut it off . Problem solved

  • wo dont get hasty

  • THATS FUNNY!!!

  • such a shame grosse, having to be burdened by sex with boney bitches........and by the way we arent fat ....we are FLUFFY,and great in the winter time.......but my guess is you need the viagra anyway and find it more comforting to blame it on someone else.......cheer up though even if you cant get it hard enough to fuck, walmart is coming up with a line of condoms in toddler size,at least if you DO get hard now you wont have to hold a normal sized one on with rubber bands

  • Oh you are fat aren't you? Yes i think you are. Fat chicks do more. Also all cocks look small to you fatty.

  • They just gave him a fast acting sleeping pill. It was so strong that he didn't even need to eat it. The dog is so dumb that he tries it again.

  • lukeChucky:

As Abraham Lincoln said -- better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

    You fool.

  • I was being funny, you prick!

  • Luke's playing the game where you make a comment so retarded that everyone realises that it's not serious.

    He hasn't won yet.

  • LOL TO THE CAPTION HAHA

  • pauv bete

  • Actually it's a real medical condition and is often set off by things that excite dogs, like treats.

  • @kristies yep early research with dogs helped doctors find treatments for people with narcolepsy as well

  • @kristies 'want a treat?'

    'OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG *sleeps*'

    sarcastic dog ;)

  • Lulz guys this Papagenu guys is 100% INTERNET TOUGH GUY!! Dont mess with him or he'll ask you to die.

  • Animals with these types of conditions are extremely important in researching human genetic disorders. They can help end a lot of human suffering. Perhaps you should consider that before you go running your mouth.

  • This condition is caused by a defect in the HCRTR2 gene which codes for hypocretin (orexin) receptor 2. The dog did NOT lie down for a treat. This is a genetic disorder has been studied fairly extensively in Dobermans over at least the last 20 years.

  • hey,

im definitely in grad school as a biology major and all that shite you just said is total BS, you made it up, hypocretin (orexin) receptor cannot exist, especially as a 2, everyone who knows anything knows that its only a 1, 3, 5 type patter, odd obviuosly.

    do your own research

    meany pants

  • Look it up. There is a 2001 journal article in Genome Research (on PubMed, ref. 11282968) by Hungs, Fan, Lin, Maki and Mignot called Identification and functional analysis of mutations in the Hypocretin (Orexin) genes of narcoleptic canines. Geez, everyone is a skeptic.

  • oh come on, we all know that mignot has been exposed as a phony. his license was revoked and he lost everything, sad story, but thanks for brining it up

  • Heh heh

  • yea what he said

  • Hahaha, You guys are funny. I actually enjoyed reading your comments! It really goes to show how school can educate you in the real world. I'm not being sarcastic by the way. I swear. =)

  • een hond vergiftigen is dat leuk?
