The car has been very reliable, only issue was the stock clutch which I replaced with a tougher unit. A nissan might be a better choice as a drift car though, easier power and plenty of parts around. Having said that, I do know guys who drift 944's successfully.
I've never been up against a Mustang, they are pretty rare in this neck of the woods (Australia). My 944 can keep up with most modern machinery through the corners, but it is on the straights that they pull away. I would say this would be the case with the Mustang too.
have you had any major problems with your 944? ive been thinking about getting one just to drift and eventually turn into a track car.
