And Harry did console her in Half Blood Prince.Also she stayed after Ron left in DH1 and Harry made her feel better by dancing.And in DH2 when he said he was going to die she hugged him and was willing to go with him,while Ron did nothing but stare at him,didn't even say a word to him.I think Ron and Hermione have a brother and sister relationship.

I dont know exactly how I feel about the Hermione/Ron thing. Part of me wants Harry and Hermione to be together but the other thinks it was nice that the main character always gets the main female character. It was nice that there wasn't that much of a love triangle(apart from DHp1). But i still think Harry/Hermione would have been cute. Its scenes like this that make me wish they put more personal scenes with Harry and Hermione because the audience would understand their brother/ sister love.

I don't think this scene is that confusing. I mean if you think about it most of the movie is Ron going out with Lavender, Hermione is obviously jealous and then in the hospital Ron says Hermione's name instead of lavender. Even Dumbledore noticed they like eachother xD even though they don't go out this movie makes it pretty obvious that they like eachother.

lol..I'd have thought it'd be obvious that there's nothing between Harry and Hermione when she started asking him for advice about how to deal with Ron. Girls don't ask guys for advice on boys unless the guy is just a friend.

And yeah, I noticed Ron's best lines get stolen in the movies, like in the 3rd one when he told Sirius he'd have to kill him(Ron) if he wanted a shot at Harry. That line, in the movie, was given to Hermione, who didn't and probably wouldn't have said it in the books.

They're nothing without Ron. In GOF when Ron and Harry had the falling out, all Harry did the next day was talk about Ron and wasn't very patient with Hermione. In DH when Ron left, Harry and Hermione barely talked. Hermione cried a lot and Harry did nothing to console her, unlike in the film. If they did start going out, they'd have to take Ron along on all their dates so that they don't just sit there eating quietly.

Both Harry and Hermione are closer to Ron than to each other.

I never read the books but I have seen all the movies and I wanted to know if they developed this Ron / Hermione romance in the first 5 books because they definitly didnt do it in the first 5 movies. @KingBurkey They def had a conncetion through the first 5 books, but I didn't really show until the 4th one with Viktor Krum and all that, but it has always been there, and you kinda figured that they would feel like this at some point :)

@JoannaMatt that's not true at all. hermione and ron pretty much acknowledged their feelings in the 6th book, with the whole lavender brown complex, and of course, the hospital scene. Before the events of the 7th book started, both of them already had a mutual understanding of what's going on. You could tell by their words and actions (pre-kiss) in the 7th book that they're more comfortable Even harry said at one point (to krum, during the bill's wedding) that they are "err.. sort of" together.

It's a deleted scene from the end of the 6th movie and you're right : it could be confusing. I'm guessing that, when Steve Kloves wrote that scene, he wanted to give the audience the feeling that after all these years of tension and jealousy, Ron and Hermione are finally on their way to being together.

But the problem is that, like you said, Ron and Hermione don't actually get together until the very end of the series. I mean, yes, they're so close in DH that it looks like they're together but they don't actually become a couple until the end of the series. Therefore, keeping that scene in the movie would have made no sense whatsoever and I think they ended up deleting that scene to avoid the confusion.

i think they cut it because they wanted to take the ron hermione thing a little slower. and bcuz those two dont do anything throughout the movie. yes they kind of flirt and stuff but the audience would have been like "whoa theyre dateing now?!?!?!?!" if they had kept it. and keep in mind its not in the book, Ron and hermione arent "Physical" until the end of the 7th book

Actually, orginally in the film it is Ron who suggests that both him and Herminone will accompany Harry on his mission !!! But like always all the Ron's best lines and memorable moments in the books are snatched away from him and given to either Harry or Hermione in the films. I believe that the trend will continue in the last two flims as well. I am convinced that Steve Kloves really does hate Ron's character !

@ramsob i agree and i hope they don't do that to ron in the last films. Ron has even more memorable moments in the 7th book. I think he's a great character: Harry is the talented one, Hermoine is clever, and Ron is just the "normal" guy, the one you can feel relate to.

Also, just like in The Lord Of the Rings, i hate when they change important parts of the books while doing the films, but i think that's just something i'm gonna have to learn how to live with.

Emma Watson expressions were so believable the entire movie, especially when showing all of this feeling vulnerable and flustered when it comes to her feelings for Ron.

This voice is very much the one I imagined when I read the line: "Ron," said Hermione in a dignified voice, "you are the most insensitive wart I have ever had the misfortune to meet." No, she did say, "He's barking." I think it's just one of those things you throw out there when you're trying to deny you like/want to be with someone. Like, "He's out of his mind...of course, we wouldn't snog. I would never snog that crazy git, Ron Weasley. Pft." In reality, she's thinking, "Oh dear god, please let us snog. I really really hope we do."
