This thing reminds me of an old three wheeler. They were really unstable, and easily tipped. I would reverse the ski pattern. two in front, one in back.
looks like it could be a lot of fun. I don't see how it would help in any kinda research. how could this be any more cost efficient than a snow mobile?
It's like driving an airplane on the ground with no runway and the added benefit of having a 500 pound exploding blender sitting right behind you if you hit a tree stump!
Certainty of death, small chance of success? What are we waiting for!
The Russians have built things like this since before World War 1. They call it an aerosan (plural aerosani). They have a long history of using them as military combat vehicles, transports, and for fun..
u think that spending all that money, and using up enormous quantities of resources, in the construction, transportation and execution of this "expedition" is doing anything to help the environment? especially now that most of the world realizes that the whole warming/c02/AlGoreSaidSo theory is completely false. my guess is this project started in the hysterical early days of "global warming" and its too late to stop now. how much co2 will it add to pull some frozen bodies out of an ice crevice?
@RKvids9 Oh ok, fine. Yes, if it tips backwards the prop and drive-train will shatter. But unless the man tries to jump off a ramp with too little power and he starts sliding backwards (most likely regretting the day he was born), I don't think that will happen, because its being pushed *from behind* by the thrust of the engine. Think of the prop's thrust as a forth leg that supports the vehicle from behind, and you get the idea.
it goes 70mph i know because i have bean in it because i andrew's son and i have bean in the ice challenger and this trike is a new model for the next experdishon across the whole of antartica and he will go past skots tent o and it has a big pokkey thing under neath it witch gose down when you want to slow down
looks to wide, which limits where it can used, design a unit that can be used on winter logging roads. .

You sound very credible with phrases like "pokey thing" and your constant use of the word "bean" instead of been.
