Yes, I agree on the healing and being amazed. I've taught my daughter to do it and she is amazed when she can get rid of her pain that way too. When you say "playing" if you mean the internal blows from martial arts, there is no permanent damage because there is no negative intent. That's why controlling emotions is so important in the internal martial arts.
