In my personal opinion, Paperwriter Writer is a studio song unless you have a full choir behind you on stage. Beatles live versions are not very good and I've played it live myself, its just not a concert-friendly song. But this version is okay.
@heitorcrespo You missed the point by miles. In the studio you have the luxury of making those harmonies really click together. They even said it on the Anthology. And I later learned this from experience too.
@heitorcrespo And on the contrary, with the overdubs the Beatles did on Paperwriter Writer, its probably the equivalent of EIGHT or NINE voices. They did that with "Because" on Abbey Road. When theres band members having to do harmony AND play instruments, it can sound pretty iffy. So a small choir would be good.
@TheAmericanOriginal There is on YouTube the raw recording of Because. It's just 4 voices. And if you listen to Paperback Writter, just the voice, you can check. It's just 4 voices. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th voice
@heitorcrespo Yes and can you do that in concert without sounding too awkward or the harmonies not quite clicking? Probably not, unless you have a small choir that frees the drummer, guitarists, so on from harmony duties
Hey Many how are you since the last time?I suggest you read a couple of books a learn some new words.By the way clean your ears and start to listen to something elese than The Beatles , why dont you start with,... your mother?
@JOHNDEVANDT: I guess most Beatles fans are into lots of OTHER diverse (also musical) things, because this period (60s/70s) liberated most people to be able to enjoy their lives in very different aspects. Period.
Very few people have amount of stage presence and outright blazing confidence to stop the start of the song because of a mistake then joke about it and Paul McCartney is one of these few.
pauls no pussy like ol ozzy (okay, with ozzy making them heavier is a good thing) or more like ian gillian who doesn't sing some purple classics anymore while pauls belting out helter skelter after 3 hours of playing.
"I knew it was in ' G '........It's MY show!!" That's just too f--king cool Sir Paul!!!!!!! What a performer! Loved how he repeats the 1st verse, with that different phrasing. thanks kamuy313
they make things too flashy and so unbeatly

@TheAmericanOriginal A full choir for 4 voices? They didn't use in studio more than 4 voices...
