  • What is about the animals in the water ?

  • I think I saw an alligator

  • yaaay those animals there will die , awesome!

  • This is environmental terror! Shame on you!!

  • @kwokshsee it's sodium mate,

it's the 6th most abundant metal on earth, lmfao

  • @butternutsquashpie

Didn't ur school teach logic mate? Abundance has nth to do here. Sodium in nature is NOT in pure form, like what was used in this vid. When pure sodium reacts with H20, it reacts violently as u see above, the intense heat and shock KILL living organisms in its vicinity. The NaOH produced is highly CAUSTIC b4 it's thoroughly diluted, and again KILL creatures in its vicinity.

If u think it's harmless, I dare u to let it drop beside u while u're in the pond! Have common sense!

  • @kwokshsee i see your point there,

however, it did stay above surface and i highly doubt fish, toads, frogs, etc would swim near a sizzling white rock when it's about to burst,

to sodium is dialuted in teh air and water extremely limiting the destruction

there really isn't that much sodium to damage the nearby fauna or flora even

  • @butternutsquashpie "i highly doubt fish, toads, frogs, etc would swim near a sizzling white rock"

    What a shameless gangster logic!!!

It'is like saying u're a suicide bomber with all explosives hanging over ur body, ppl wouldn't get near and nobody would be hurt! U are shameless, mate.

"to sodium is dialuted in teh air and water extremely limiting the destruction"

    Write better English!

Again, if u think it is not destructive, I dare u to sit beside such a drop. God damn U.

  • @kwokshsee lmao c'mon mate, it's the internet, i'm not going to capitalize or punctuate at any neccessary time as long as i get the message accross, all is good and mee sitting beside the explosion? 1st, maybe 2nd degree burns here and there. but after that, nothing too permanent and the suicide bomber analogy, that's a bit on the extreme side, don't you think? lmfao i'd say more.. a firecracker in a train station sure it'll cause some chaos, but no extreme damage done
  • I really want to see this done with a cubic foot of sodium :D

  • its better when you pour water on it or put it in half an inch of water because then it catches fire first. good thing you wore gloves though. it would melt your hands right off, one time i got water on my glove ( latex) and it stuck to the glove and started burning my hand.

  • i want to try that

  • thats how russians fish

  • @Jizzsplosion in soviet russia fish catch you

  • Of course it legal free country dumb Americans

  • I like your fishing style. Next time try a great white shark... When you're next to it! :D

  • Those pond fishes got sick or died because of YOU!

  • Tossing raw sodium into lakes isnt illegeal?

  • @GoneDead3 GREAT you have no clude of what you talk, FIRST there are not even a million (big) fishes in that lake, 2. the NaOH which is produced there is SO low concentrated (because of the high amount of water) cant even harm a goldfish..

  • great! you killed a million fishes!

  • is that legal?

  • FUCK YOU FROGS. LET'S SEE WHO SLEEPS NOW

  • FUCK YOU FUCKING FROGS? LET'S SEE WHO SLEEPS NOW

  • fun, fun

  • uh, 20 grams? Looks like less.

  • @ScienceHideout i weighed it bitch

  • @VideoSupreme It looks like 20

  • @VideoSupreme hey bitch, you dont have to say it like that

  • @VideoSupreme You seem like a reeeeeeeeeal tough guy.

  • @VideoSupreme lololol

  • @VideoSupreme where can u get pure sodium

  • @jcarterize unitednuclear

  • @VideoSupreme awsome

  • @VideoSupreme that was a hostile reaction all he said was that it looks like less

  • @ABOTango can't you not sense the sarcasm in his response? I would've said the same thing.

  • @VideoSupreme Sodium has a density of around 0.97 g/cm3 (for all intents and purposes, let's say 1.0)

Therefore it would have to be around 20 cubic centimeters, which it appears to be.

  • @ScienceHideout are you the fucking sodium police, it looks like 20 grams to me, and why the fuck would he lie lol

  • @ScienceHideout

My God, all I said is it doesn't look like 20g. No need for everyone to get pissed.

  • @ScienceHideout wow yeah if u say it doesnt LOOK like 20g doesnt mean you say it ISNT 20g... how dumb are u guys, you guys probably have anger management problems...

  • @ScienceHideout Grams are not used for weight!

  • No haha I just want to try it XD

  • where do you buy that???

  • @Iamapeanut10 buy? umm, are you a science teacher or something?

  • I think it will taste salty indeed, but far from pleasurable. I've once tasted a small piece of NaOH, and it did taste salty too besides the severe pain in my tongue. Pure sodium will form this NaOH and will taste salty (and you'll have agonizing pain).

  • where do do get sodium?

  • waste of money

  • lool :D

  • That's "fast fishing"! - Now you can collect the fish...

  • Actually, it just makes the lake more basic. This can be a good thing for the lake, depending on the lake's chemical composition prior.

Also, there's plenty of non "natural" events that greatly improve water quality, just like hunters taking deer improves biodiversity of the forests and the health of the remaining deer.

  • i have this strange urge to lick that chunk of sodium :P

  • something tells me it's gonna taste salty

  • if u ate it, it will explode in ur stomache, then again, i'm only in 8th grade so idk

  • I'm in Grade 10 and if you swallow a piece you'll die or be seriously injured.

  • well, obviously. but what i dont understand is why people just want to taste it

  • @Paramorerocks19 you will die, but it won't explode

  • @Tracker18o oh i see but in the end, the answer still the same......you'll die -_-

  • @angelica319 what the----

  • @angelica319 and then the sodium would have a strange urge to blow your face off xD

  • lol. imagine the fish thinking it is food, and they eat it O.O ... BOOM !!

  • Fish is all like: hmm wierd.. tastes salty... BOOM!

  • Im pretty sure sodium doesnt taste salty. It has to combine with chloride to make salt.

  • maybe chlorine doesn't taste salty

  • you've got a point, after googling it, sodium does taste salty

  • i think it tastes like captain crunch

  • captain crunch cuts the top of my mouth.....

  • where did you get sodium at?

  • search keten reactants at google (; as i cant tell the site on youtube D= i once threw a bottle bomb with bread tied to it on a string down at some ducks xD i never laughed so hard by one explosion hahhaha

  • good job poisoning a beautiful pond you wanker

  • funny story,

    you're the moron.

that's less than one mol of sodium.

that would create less than one mol of sodium hydroxide,

which, in a natural lake (which contains buffers as to resist any change in ph to start with)

would not effect the ph or toxin level at all.

the buffer would eat the higher ph right up, and maintain levels. it would take roughly 1000 mols of sodium to effect the pond at all,

    and that's quite a bit

so, before you try to put someone down, i suggest you get you shit straight.

  • well done fuck stain

  • @dhendrickson117 Someone should of paid attention in english class LOL

  • @dhendrickson117 you fucking, RULE

  • Maybe you should have paid attention in chemistry class instead of jerking off in the bathroom.

  • Well I'm sure the fish were pleased with shock waves and frightening sound :]

  • nice where the hell did u get soduim

  • holy shit
