Skating is so fun and oh man Skateboarding is so fun. I just hate the skateboarders who are all about hating on skating cause they've been told to its really annoying. Both sports are not easier or harder than each other and thats that.
Ok, any blader could go on all night argueing with skaters pointing out how stupid their comments were, & vice versa, but its not gonna lead anywhere, no one is affecting each others opinions on how they see thier own sport, sure you can make angry comments but honestly, that opinion doesnt matter to either side and hey, if you wanna be a prick and rant on about which one is better then go ahead, but all your doing is making a fool of yourself. So please, just shut up and enjoy these two sports.

They are both hard in their own way: While skateboarding is hard to manage because of how good your footwork must be, rollerblading requires more physical strength in addition to good footwork. Either way, they are both fucking sick, and yes I've tried them both. Bladers and Boarders together in peace is all the world needs...
Im guessing the hate comes from, and im not saying this to degrade bladers, but its a hell of a lot easier to blade then to skate. Not saying it's not hard but you can basicly step onto blades and 360 a nine set. Whereas i mean it takes a couple years just to learn to ollie it on a board. So a lot of bladers get... annoyingly cocky hence why many skaters hate on them. If your sport is easyer don't think your hot shit for doing what we're doing: step your game up.

@nikesb2406 of course it's died down a lot. Skateboarding is more mainstream and marketable. Rob Dydrek, Sheckler, Hawk; they have becoming EXTREMELY wealthy off of skateboarding through video games, tv, movies, etc. which in turn appeals to a MUCH MUCH larger audience (which is why skateparks are 90% occupied by skateboarders now). Rollerblading doesn't have that.
But to be honest, I like it. Here in Minnesota, every single rollerblader knows each other. It's how tight our community is here.

it's a mizou where your back foot comes in to your front foot real close and grinding down like a royale. and a Misfit is an allyoop topside mistrial... Mistrials actually aren't that hard until you start trying to do the misfit.
mistrial : right foot is in a makio position. and left foot is in a backside backslide position....unless you skate switch. mizzou: right foot is in makio, and left foot is in more of a backside potition.
you can adjust the height of the cuff/liner...but you canot make the actual skate bigger...only push the cuff slightly farther from the toe which i wouldnt count as making them bigger to be honest...

I think you're missing my point. I think all those guys I mentioned still have good style, even Farmer, its just different when they were younger. And when I talk about old videos, I mean OLD videos. Not Words or VG13, I'm talking Hoax1&2, VG1-6, Mr. Moosenuckle, etc. Basically, the very first skate videos, and most of those pros I mentioned were in middleschool-highschool. I thought Feinberg would never get taller. He looked like he was a 7 year old skating Argons.

ive seen alot of those videos (although i didnt watch much vg past like 4, until 13) but if you put all those skaters back then with the same clothes people were now, they will look totally different. Their clothes hung off the damn rail, were frayed. Farmer changed his style, nothing having to do with puberty. Nobody wants to keep trying all those hard as fuck tricks every single day. And nothing wrong with that. Who wants to keep progressing on a 540 kinggrind. He just wanted to have more fun.
Wow! Sorry, Fullyflared, thats just what I read in a mag. It still holds true to what I said, just because he may not be exactly 6'4, he's still much taller then what he was back in the day. Just look at the old videos and you can see how much shorter he was. Its basically just pure science. Yes, he still has the same style, so-to-say, but he does look different doing certain tricks by how tall he is.
no, its clearly the clothes. Even when hes doing the same tricks, hes not crushing the true fishy's, no icing those topsides like before. Its a fact, try skating in sweats and try skating in shorts. You will see a difference your skating. And for the guy who said jeph howard had ugly style. Im not for sure what the hell hes talking about. I like jeph's style. He got great fastslides and nice true spin top acids. And hes got some nice 360 topsouls.
I've been skating since '95. I've seen pros like Spizer, Baumstimler, Latimer, Petty, Nelson, Mantz, Feinberg, etc etc all start out having a sick natural style. As they grow, they still have the same tricks under their belt, they just look different. The reason for that is they got taller. Denying this is absurd. Its not the clothes that changed his style. If he can still squat with tight pants, then he can still do the same tricks. He's not wearing a barrel, or a brace while he skates.
A spizer still has sick style. And feinberg? What the hell were you watching. I think feingberg style got great. I think aaron has the best style ive ever seen. i thought he had pretty good style in the vg13 but nothing comparable to words. Aaron style go better. Petty style got better. And latimer just focused on some different tricks. Kinda like haffey and them are doing now. But with him it wasnt so many skaters at once changing style. .
hahaha Chris Farmer is not 6'4!!! He is about 6' I met him and stood next to him with shoes on and he was wearing flat shoes and I'm 6' and we were the same height. I might have been an inch taller than him too so that would make him about 5'11. He's tall but not that tall hahaha. Jeph Howard is tall and has a really ugly style in my honest opinion.
I don't really think his skate-style has changed form when you preferred him, but more of his center of gravity. He's still the same skater, but when you get older, you also grow. The taller you are, the higher your center of gravity is, and the more "awkward" it looks to pull off tricks. Its not the clothing style that changes your skating-style, but its actually just natural growth. He's what, 6'4 now, and when he was younger, I bet he was around 5'10-5'11.
for example go watch vg19 chris farmer then watch this video. Then go back and watch demode ian and then go watch teach them well bonus section ian mcleod. You will see the difference farmers, barely see any difference in mcleods
Oh and I almost forgot, Check out Iain Mcleod. His pants got tighter but he still skates the same. Just a perfect example of how change might not be a bad thing. And with more normal fitting or tight clothes, you can see the real style of the skater and the trick. Not like with baggy sweatpants, all you saw was a blanket spinning in the air and sliding on a rail. Hard to actually tell what the trick was.there must be a reason why people are starting to dress more fitting and better looking also.
ian does the same tricks if not better, lol thats why. ian still hitting full cab true makios, still nailing down tru spins. Ian skating has improved, just as jeff stockwell. So when they changed from baggy clothes, their style didnt really change. They were more about getting better with their skating than fitting in with what people were wearing. There are some nice tricks in this video no doubt. But farmer skates for fun now. Ian and stocky skate for progression. And his style has changed.
Chris Farmer hasn't changed. His style is still the same. I don't know why so many people are complaining. Baggy clothes or tight clothes, it doesn't matter people. Do clothes have a trick restriction or something? Hell No!!!! He can still do all those tricks he did in his old sections. I bet you all that he can still do 540 kindgrinds but he just chose to expand his rolling list instead of doing the same crap in every video just in different places. Come on people, accept change.
not the best farmer ever and his style inst that great to me. But he was hitting some very nice tricks in this video. on a scale of 1-10, i would give this section a 6 or 7.
I met this dude today at the H-town showdown got his autograph on my xsjados, this here is one of my favorite rollers and he is definetly one of the best rollers in our industry.
Thats gotta feel weird having only two wheels on each skate. Does it? I have heard so many people say they love it and so many say they hate it. Arghh, I would hate to spend the money for some them hate the shit out of them.
I used to have 4 wheels on each skate, then I tried 2 and liked that better. It depends on your style of skating, if your vert 4, street 2. 2 wheels has a lot of advantages, the skate is lighter, the wheels wont catch when you grind ledges, and you save money on buying wheels and bearings, the only downside is there isn't as much stability when you do things on vert, but if you wanna try it, just take your middle wheels out.

I really loved the vibe of this whole movie, it's not super tech..and don't get me wrong I love watching tech shit, and bigtime hammers getting dropped, but every once in a while its good to watch a nice chill film.

clothes and style go together. Just get over it. Go skate in tight pants then go skate in lose shorts. Your style will change. no argument, its a fact. And farmer is ill, tight pants or not. He just doesnt want to do the full cab tru fishy's anymore. And you people must have missed life plus and the other videos in the past. Hes always been able to do negatives. I think you're missing my point. I think all those guys I mentioned still have good style, even Farmer, its just different when they were younger. And when I talk about old videos, I mean OLD videos. Not Words or VG13, I'm talking Hoax1&2, VG1-6, Mr. Moosenuckle, etc. Basically, the very first skate videos, and most of those pros I mentioned were in middleschool-highschool. I thought Feinberg would never get taller. He looked like he was a 7 year old skating Argons.

ive seen alot of those videos (although i didnt watch much vg past like 4, until 13) but if you put all those skaters back then with the same clothes people were now, they will look totally different. Their clothes hung off the damn rail, were frayed. Farmer changed his style, nothing having to do with puberty. Nobody wants to keep trying all those hard as fuck tricks every single day. And nothing wrong with that. Who wants to keep progressing on a 540 kinggrind. He just wanted to have more fun.

Wow! Sorry, Fullyflared, thats just what I read in a mag. It still holds true to what I said, just because he may not be exactly 6'4, he's still much taller then what he was back in the day. Just look at the old videos and you can see how much shorter he was. Its basically just pure science. Yes, he still has the same style, so-to-say, but he does look different doing certain tricks by how tall he is.

no, its clearly the clothes. Even when hes doing the same tricks, hes not crushing the true fishy's, no icing those topsides like before. Its a fact, try skating in sweats and try skating in shorts. You will see a difference your skating. And for the guy who said jeph howard had ugly style. Im not for sure what the hell hes talking about. I like jeph's style. He got great fastslides and nice true spin top acids. And hes got some nice 360 topsouls.

I've been skating since '95. I've seen pros like Spizer, Baumstimler, Latimer, Petty, Nelson, Mantz, Feinberg, etc etc all start out having a sick natural style. As they grow, they still have the same tricks under their belt, they just look different. The reason for that is they got taller. Denying this is absurd. Its not the clothes that changed his style. If he can still squat with tight pants, then he can still do the same tricks. He's not wearing a barrel, or a brace while he skates.

A spizer still has sick style. And feinberg? What the hell were you watching. I think feingberg style got great. I think aaron has the best style ive ever seen. i thought he had pretty good style in the vg13 but nothing comparable to words. Aaron style go better. Petty style got better. And latimer just focused on some different tricks. Kinda like haffey and them are doing now. But with him it wasnt so many skaters at once changing style. .

hahaha Chris Farmer is not 6'4!!! He is about 6' I met him and stood next to him with shoes on and he was wearing flat shoes and I'm 6' and we were the same height. I might have been an inch taller than him too so that would make him about 5'11. He's tall but not that tall hahaha. Jeph Howard is tall and has a really ugly style in my honest opinion.

I don't really think his skate-style has changed form when you preferred him, but more of his center of gravity. He's still the same skater, but when you get older, you also grow. The taller you are, the higher your center of gravity is, and the more "awkward" it looks to pull off tricks. Its not the clothing style that changes your skating-style, but its actually just natural growth. He's what, 6'4 now, and when he was younger, I bet he was around 5'10-5'11.

Oh and I almost forgot, Check out Iain Mcleod. His pants got tighter but he still skates the same. Just a perfect example of how change might not be a bad thing. And with more normal fitting or tight clothes, you can see the real style of the skater and the trick. Not like with baggy sweatpants, all you saw was a blanket spinning in the air and sliding on a rail. Hard to actually tell what the trick was.there must be a reason why people are starting to dress more fitting and better looking also.

ian does the same tricks if not better, lol thats why. ian still hitting full cab true makios, still nailing down tru spins. Ian skating has improved, just as jeff stockwell. So when they changed from baggy clothes, their style didnt really change. They were more about getting better with their skating than fitting in with what people were wearing. There are some nice tricks in this video no doubt. But farmer skates for fun now. Ian and stocky skate for progression. And his style has changed.

Chris Farmer hasn't changed. His style is still the same. I don't know why so many people are complaining. Baggy clothes or tight clothes, it doesn't matter people. Do clothes have a trick restriction or something? Hell No!!!! He can still do all those tricks he did in his old sections. I bet you all that he can still do 540 kindgrinds but he just chose to expand his rolling list instead of doing the same crap in every video just in different places. Come on people, accept change.

I used to have 4 wheels on each skate, then I tried 2 and liked that better. It depends on your style of skating, if your vert 4, street 2. 2 wheels has a lot of advantages, the skate is lighter, the wheels wont catch when you grind ledges, and you save money on buying wheels and bearings, the only downside is there isn't as much stability when you do things on vert, but if you wanna try it, just take your middle wheels out.
