I guess some kind of generator on the output could power the displacer, but all this could end up being very inefficient as energy gets transformed from one form to another. Note also that it would be difficult to synchronize this with a flywheel, so ideally one should have a linear alternator driven directly from the output piston, with no flywheel at all.

Could it be possible to power this displacer with a generator on a stirling engine which has this displacer type?
