  • The video is beautiful

  • This festival looks really cool, but every time someone talks it sounds really stupid

  • What is the song in this video? It's truly beautiful!

  • Cool Vid. AUDIO is totally fucked up... Can you fix it???

  • @828Phatty - they wont let me replace it.... I'll work on a re-upload. Also have it on lustmonkey :(

  • well, unfortunately for you,you happen to be the same species as those 'fat redneck americans,'

don't hate on your homosapien brothers. ;)

Burning Man is a celebration,in all its many forms.

freedom love expression, worthy of acceptance I think.

  • Hey John, the audio is chopped and seems to be messing up!!! do you know ?? I love this video ,my heart is still beating though. Many Hugs!!!

  • @johnunsung1 ACK! I'm not sure what happened!

  • Most people will never understand how weird reality can get.

  • lookin at shell you gave me in 2006 rock on bro a true world citizen.

  • @lowlandr That warms my heart. <3

  • I agree, this is one of my favorite BM videos too! I saw you out there this year for a split second and wanted to say hi but you were riding on your bike and I was walking :/

  • are there any internationals there? I was thinking about going for it but all I see is fat redneck americans. I really don't like to be among americans. it's very depressing for me. pretty trashy and tasteless event. no class. I prefer loveparade. eurostyle raves. art is very synthetic and trashy. "sacred temple" hehe.

  • @rudolfgonzalez - Burning Man considers itself "radically inclusive." But if doesn't look like your scene, it probably isn't.

  • @rudolfgonzalez Well it IS held in america... I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually.

  • @rudolfgonzalez

    Go, find out.

  • @rudolfgonzalez YOU SEE FAT REDNECKS? this isnt for you. you obviously dont SEE at all. among Americans? yes there are many assholes in america, but generalizing and entire country PRETTY MUCH SUMS YOU UP.

  • i think i would feel at home here especially if there were some nice eye openers here like peyote!

  • beautifull girls youll ever seen on BM, good game.

  • Does anyone know Cptn Dick? He had a tiki car in 2008 and was located at 4:30 and F..if I remember correct...right by the ketchup (sp?) bottle.

  • I miss home...

  • omggggggggg damnnn i wasnt prepared i just heard of this beautful place. i will go 2011!

  • @sk8thugs

    Haha. See you there!

  • HoLy Déjà vu

  • @ticktockedout now how do you know all that? When you follow the Lord Jesus he PROVES who he is and who his Father is. There is no doubt. I have wonderful gifts from God, he decides on many thngs for me and that is a good thing. Everything from the weather, and government and our protection from foreign powers, criminals, just courts, Police-fire-ambulance/paramedic that Honors God in all they do, etc....

God decides on all that, if we Honor him we can expect Great things from him. Amen.

  • Do people get laid here?

  • Is the audio skipping or is this just me?

  • @laudiumWP just you :P

just kidding, skipping bad for me too, would be so much better if it didn't...

  • Why do people always feel the need to quote bible verses in comments on burningman videos?

  • hey bat countries one o my tribes

  • 1Timothy 3;1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

    Trust in Jesus alone.

  • Respect :-)

  • This is one of my Fav.vids. of BM

  • @johnunsung1 Thank you!!!

  • hell yeah man thats heavy... i have got to go

  • what a beautyful group of people, where are you all from?

  • @floydfan21 all over! Many from my camp are in San Diego. Many in teh video are from Vancouver.

  • well done.

  • Thanks!

  • We love Glassbreaker. Why are not all videos set to this song.

  • haha. I'm with you. :)

  • I agree - such a powerful song! Also, I'm watching this as I knit a rainbow shawl in memory of my Caleb - the pattern was designed specifically for grieving mothers, proceeds go to help NICU babies, and both the pattern and my favorite yarn ever were gifted to me just so I could make this for Caleb's birthday!

  • dude i wanna go soo bad , can i roll with you halcyonstyn :) im from south texas but its like my dream to attend burning man. got any suggestions on how i make it there. It would make me the happiest guy on earth just to attend :). Take care m8t

  • You'll make it when the time is right. I would try to find local people to carpool, share resources, make a themecamp with (Or better, find a local themecamp to join.) There is a facebook page for BM, and the BurningMan website has an "eplaya" message board I would check, too. If you make it, definitely come by my camp!

  • ive never been and want to go bad, it sounds like a wonderful place to be, thank you for a really great vid!!

  • My pleasure! hope to see you there. ((HUG))

  • I love it!

  • 4:39 is such a beautiful image!

  • Halcyon! I'm going this year as a virgin with my boyfriend who has also never been. Can't wait to see you!

  • Awesome! I can't wait.

    I'm there in 2010

  • I'll see you at home! ((hug))

  • See you at the portal! Great choice of music and editing, btw!

  • Halcyon, this little Lotus loves and misses you so so much. I am presently in New Orleans, can't wait to get back to Cali. Give everyone hugs for me beautiful boy.....

  • ((HUG))!

  • So how is it with like camping? Do you just pick a spot or do people have camps set up that you can sleep at???? would love to know thanks

  • Most people alighn into theme camps. But you can always find a place to camp!

  • If you're with a theme camp you're in a designated spot, but there are places where you just kinda pick your real estate and set up home!

  • That is beautiful guys !! Thank you for being who you are!

  • This is a cool vid, man. it captures a lot. Thanks.

  • What track is that?

  • Crystal Method "Glass Breaker"

  • Is it a remix?

  • It's not a 'gay festival' - more of a festival where many in attendance might be gay. As for weird people? - OOHHHH YEAH! plenty of that.

  • Thank you for not attending Burning Man. Good luck with your path.

  • Good reply halcyonstyn.

  • What exactly takes place at Burning man?

  • loved it!!!!!!

  • ANy1 know what the levels mean (ie first level, second level, third etc. etc.) im thinkin of buyin 6th level ticks

  • There's different tiers based on how much you can afford to pay - please pay as much as you can to allow the financially-challenged a chance to get tix they can afford!

  • crazy motherfuking americans

  • Eh, some people need to learn to steer more and float less. It depends on the person really. I think people like Halcyon are pretty damn good at steering so learning to float is a useful revelation to them but it's not for everyone.

  • I think floating only works if you find the current, first. :)

  • Perhaps. Right now I should be preparing for burning man but I'm being pulled by the under-toe of youtube.

I need to steer to the right current. :-)

  • see you in a week, John

Linda (snakeburm) from westfield, mass (missed hugnation today),

  • What a great message to spread - I love it! I'm on board! :) Keep up the love!

  • My friends and I have our tickets for 2009 burning man. It will be my first.

  • soo inspiring!

    thanks for posting this

  • Being their sober would be a nightmare.

  • I HOPE TO JOIN YOU FOR BURNING MAN 2010

  • me too

  • Ooooh me too, me too! I can't WAIT!

  • Out of every BM video I've ever seen, this one is the most interesting, the most inspirational!

  • oh..its in the description. haha, this is spirit monkeyl. lol

  • what track is this. its fucking amazing!!!

  • try to get a hug at thunderdome

  • who wouldn't be peaceful and friendly at the best party in the world, i was a happy chap when i was there, of course, i was having an excellent time. I sometimes feel Burning Man is represented as a load of yuppies going love everyone all the time and everyone wants to hug you. Well ain't that a little naive SOME people will kick you in the head. they will!

and i think i did have a pretty deep AND spiritual time and there was love, but this isn't the real world and it isn't sustainable...

  • bm isn't just about raving. it's way deeper than that.

  • "the world would far rather hug you than hurt you"....Why are people standing around listening to that? I dunno man, i'm open minded, but isn't there any people that like to rave in america and still dress normal? I mean i'm a raver, but i can wear normal shit and party. I don't have to wear illuminous pink clothes and talk about spirtual beliefs constantly and all that bollox

  • Thats so true!! I love what was said at the end:

"And remember, you can treat people like this every day. You can feel this deep every day. You just have to work REALLY hard, and practice, practice, practice."

The feeling of a truly generous, loving community is like no other. Going to Burning Man opened my eyes to the profound possibility that there could be an entire city of people that treat each other with love and respect.

I hope that one day we will all practice this in all our cities.

  • where are these held at...they look so peaceful and friendly =]

  • Nevada desert, 3 hours from Reno.

  • i wana go this.. Year.. .!... LOVE IT

    LOVE DesDOLL

  • Thank you for sharing this experience! Particularly moving for me... II always cry at the same part, and I'm sure you can figure out why. I'm sorry I made you cry, Hal!

    ((HUGS))

  • I also cry every time I watch it. and can feel being in the temple all over again. Thank you for that.

  • so i read up on what exactly burning man is and, correct me if i'm wrong, it's a political adventure rave camp!

sounds amazing! too bad i live in europe, then again, street parade is downtown for me :)

  • God damn this shit looks wild

  • I represent my six-billionth of the world. Have a hug.

  • Loved this video! Great shot at the end! I did "Burning Man 2008 - Phil's Version" Let me know what you think!

  • Halcyon, thank you for these BM videos. They were the 1st time I had seen BM a few months ago and have been obsessed with the idea of going ever since.

I even treated the Obama Inauguration like a trail run for BM, greeting everyone I saw (definitely not something I do) and giving my blanket to some people who looked like they needed it.

My '09 burn is circling the drain with the economy but, I'll have to try and tank you in person in '10!

Cheers from Washington, DC, I can't wait to go home!!!

  • I can't wait to go back!!

  • ME TOOOOO! :)

  • All i can say is thankyou

  • my pleasure. ((HUG))

  • Fantastic Video - see you at 'home'

  • Yay!! See you there.

  • Great video

  • Thank you!!

  • thanks for the video, I hope to make it next year and particate much more for a change.

  • Great video man, i was camped at 930 and A in the big green tent right near bat country. I had a great time, and i hope to see you next year

  • what is DEMF and WEMF?

  • DEMF is the Detroit Electronic Music Festival and WEMF is the World Electronic Music Festival. DJ/raver/techno styled events. Very different than burner events but still awesome.

  • I've actually been lucky enough to have gone to both. DEMF in 2002 then the Burn in 08 BOTH are awesome, but yes very different. DEMF was free for instance! LOL but Burning Man was the most awesome thing I have even experienced! Hope to see you out there!

  • I want to make the ride out i missed it this year because of getting caught up after DEMF and WEMF. I'm coming next year thought.

  • the years ganna be shit till i can come back

  • too bad i live in bulgaria and i can't visit burning man

  • can you explain what this is i would really like to know

  • do a google search for "Burning Man" :)

  • Hi!

    Great Vid!!

    What's about electronic music @festival?

    And what's about drugs?

    Are cops there? ;)

I just want to know: Is it possible to have a party on my way, without dos and don'ts, rules and cops?

I'm looking for a festival where I can be free..

  • it is much more than music festival. Now that it is so big (50K people) there are definitely police. But, for the most part, you are FREE.

  • thanks. :)

  • beautiful, i didn't stay this year to see the temple burn, i didn't think that i could take it, the emotions i felt inside were ones that i have never felt before, thank you for an incredible video, see you at home next year!!

  • see you at home!

  • Thank you for this. Took me back to the Playa. Especially the Temple and the reminder at the end.

    Peace.

  • Thank YOU! See you at home!

  • What a colossal waste of perfectly good wood. How many trees were cut down to build that temple? How many pounds of pollutants were pumped into the atmosphere during that burn?

  • I think that is a pretty short sighted view, but we all draw our lines for ourselves.

  • Humans Rule !! Trees are created for the use of Man.

The roof ! the roof ! The roof is on FIRE !!

  • Dave, except for the Burning Man structure, participants donate all lumber and building materials to Habitat for Humanity after the festival. They collected 6 semi trucks full last year.

  • have you ever been?

  • Thank you for the video. It brought me back to the temple burn and the feeling of peace i had that night. Thanks again! see you when you get home next year ^^

  • thank you!! I'll see you at home!

  • Absolutely killer. Tears of joy and shivers of happiness. :))

  • i love it i love it, very nice. thanks for sharing the word! and the hugs n kisses in the pretty places :))

  • Thank you! (and purrrrrrrrrr) ;)

  • *melt* Man...I've gotta get to a burning man. Thank you so very much for sharing. :))

  • I don't just love "float more, steer less", I "love it love it" as in "Do you love it? Or do you love it love it?"...Answer- "No, I love it love it!"

  • groovey boots! looks like you had a wonderful time... mission accomplished and engaged.

  • Indeed! Such a wonderful experience. (again.) :)

  • Awesome video - it was a great year out there - mother nature and Goddess Playa got us to connect more with our camp mates - and it was awesome:)

  • awesome, thanks for sharing Ü

  • Have you been going for 11 consecutive years?

  • yep. 98 was my virgin year. And I can't stay away!! :)
