After a year it looked exactly the same as it did when she bought it. Not even the bugs would eat it. No mold or anything. All of those preservatives kept it as new as the day it was born.

@v4lkyr "Drugstores" in the US sell everything, including alcohol and tobacco and food items. Regular grocery stores also sell medicine that is not Rx.
For non-Rx, it is better than the system in Russia, Germany, etc. where you have to go to the "Apoteka" and pay their cartel price of $10 for 20 ibuprofen.
Rx drugs in the US are outrageously expensive and non-Rx are cheap (like $8 for 500 ibuprofen)

I wish I had known how to get painkillers "for free," because when I lived in Germany I had to pay about $10 for 20 tablets of a medicine that contains paracetmal, aspirin and caffeine for headaches. In the US I could get 300 tablets for that price and they sell it at gas stations. The pharmacy system in Europe sucks because it is a monopoly.
