I have also a 30/32 DMTR Weber register carburetor Do you think it makes sence to change from the 30 DIC? It has a at least two Intakes(outlets) I do not know how to use and the linkage turns the wrong way round, so it will be a lot of modification work not to mention the manifold.
@medwidz850coupe - I would use a 32/36 DGV or 36 DCD are for best performance results. My Cabeza de Vaca intake manifold works real well with either one.
I have used the wrong word, i meant what fellies /felly you use with the 175/50 tyres - I have the original 4,5Jx13 felly on the coupe and they should be wider for a 175 I think? I have found some 5,5x13 but they don´t seem to have the right ET like yours.
@medwidz850coupe - I use Sumitomo HTT200 175-50x13 tyres. They will work on 5"-6" wide wheels, mine are on 6" Panasports wheels w/100 mm offset from the rear of the wheel.
In this case it improves handling because the car has more negative camber and the spring rate went up about 120 pounds - all good for the type of competition (autocross) that I do.
John, how did you determine exactly how many coils to remove to level your sedan? I have the same issue as I am about to lower my front end with a reverse eyelet spring. I will want to get the back down the same amount. -Jeff
1-1/2 coils have been the standard for quite a long time for lowering the rear, especially for track racing. It just happened that it was also the right amount when I did the front end. The Fr tabs are slightly lower than the old PBS type and a lot more neg camber. I'm in the -8 degree range right now.
So you didn't calculate anything to keep it level? Had you ever done that dropped spindle mod before? Minus eight degrees is an awful lot. Might be just a bit too much even for autocross...
What I did calc was the spring rate, went from 450 per inch to 575 per inch a nice increase. Not with my own version. Yes, 8 degrees is way too much, but I haven't done the alignment as of yet. Probably going to -2 in the front for AC.
Hi John ... have you tried to look up companies that make coil over suspensions ... there are lots of those in Germany ... like : H&R, Weitec, Koni, Spax, Bilstein, KW, Sachs, Eibach and FK. I am sure they have something for your Fiat 850 Sedan in their program, if not ... well built it yourself LOL ... and just take the Shocks from any of the above manufactors ... you can get the springs in different variations ... check it out ...
Yeah, we've got all that covered, just not in the current rules, but as I make the transition to G Prepared, I will definitely put them on all four corners. Will have to make new upper & lower control arms and mounts for the front end. Working on a light-weight tubular swing arm in the rear right now. Too little time to get everything in life that needs to get done. Ha...
Still need to get front-end alignment checked, but will run around 1-1/2 to 2 degrees negative camber, right not I'm measuring almost -8 degrees with my electronic level.
The coils are cut at both ends at the factory, I'm just trimming one end. Have done this for years without ill effects. Having a car that's been out of production for over 40 years makes finding shelf parts nearly impossible - ya gotta do what ya gotta do. ;-)

Hi John,
I was wondering what are these disks you use with the 175/50 13 tyres are?
They look like mini disks but I am not sure
Thank you
Roman

@medwidz850coupe - I'm using the 850 Coupe/Spyder front end - bolts right on. You have to change to 13" wheels to use this combination.

cutting the springs doesnt give problems to car handling?

In this case it improves handling because the car has more negative camber and the spring rate went up about 120 pounds - all good for the type of competition (autocross) that I do.

@smvuy 0 Yes it improves handling because I now have more negative camber.

I thought coil cutting was a nono John. Is there a video perhaps of how it is done?

I can understand that : ) Looks great with a bit of tuck on the rear too! Hope it helps at the track!

I always thought the same thing. Why did people give this comment get negative ratings?
Stance looks good, John!
