  • Does anyone know where I can find The Armed Forces Salute arr. Douglas Richard? I have been trying for quite a while and have been unable to find it. Any help is appreciated.

  • Kilgus is so amazing

  • i played this in a school orchstra. Mountain Ridge Jr. High. it has a very good orchstra prograhm and an amzing conductor!! we combined symphonic band orchstra and chior!!! it was so fun!

  • dang this is on youtube. i was in 8th or 9th grade, dont remember

  • check out the hard core ginger at the bottom of the frame.

  • amazing, bravo

  • Sounding a little more Southern than usual these days, K. I think you've been down in Mauldin too long. =)

  • you guys did a great job, we are playing this in our band for a memorial service this weekend, ya glissando in the end!!

  • You can see/hear more performance pieces at the Carolina Youth Symphony website: carolinayouthsymphony org.

  • The audience isn't clapping for the musicians in this video. They are clapping for the military men and women standing up for their respective songs.

  • Bingo. :)

  • I know right...quit clapping...

  • HECK YES!!!!!!!!!!!! =-)

  • You guys are actually pretty good but i can barely hear u do to the rude crowd for clapping the whole time (so i agree with u electrkmayhem) u only clap after a solo in jazz or itz considered distuptive!!! but other then the crowd, that was pretty good and what is the age range for this group!!!! i also liked how the movement of the musicians hands/bows were like insync that was pretty good though it was a little pitchy....Kudos =-)

  • i was playing in the violin section of this. the crowd was clapping for the veterans not us. its a lil pitchy because theres 2 orchestras combined, one of them being all very young kids

  • ahhh i see!!!! tis still a compliment none the less love! But i do apologize if what i said offended you! =]

and yeah i kinda figured that out after bout a while lol!

somebody should've totally posted the fact that the crowd was supposed to clap so ppl like myself wouldn't make comments bout it ;]

but it's rather funny how i make the comment bout the crowd and get a thumbs down aye! haha

still major kudos for tis not a very easy piece!

    Keep Playing Loves! ^-^

  • haha no. im not offended at all. i was probably the one playing out of tune since i was really young back then :)

  • Super! Super! Super! GO Air Force! Great job!!

  • WOOOOOO!(:

  • you guys sound amazing...i give you cudo's from the mighty Joliet Central Band

  • Thank you so much!

  • well the conductor explained that he wanted them to stand and applaud didn't he? ..plus it isn't a professional orchestra.. don't u see their using lawn chairs?

  • actually, our highest level is. SO goes to carnegie every year.

  • how does that relate to anything i said?

  • Wait, what did I say? Oh yeah, was it the carnegie hall comment? I'm not sure, but I was mad at you for some reason when I posted that! :)

  • Bingo! Thank you!

This is the CYS end-of-year outdoor concert. It is the only casual venue for the year. People bring their chairs, blankets and picnics to the Furman Amphitheater lawn, and a great time is had by all.

  • hooray for a lack of audience etiquette!

  • The audience did exactly what it was expected and invited to do.

  • YAY DR. HICKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's amazing, isn't he? :)

  • sweet! im in CO this year! im principal 2nd

  • AND NOW I'M IN SO!

  • Awesome!!!! :)

  • Awesome!!! :)

  • Furman is in Greenville, South Carolina...where legalistic Bob Jones University is also. Don't care for BJU.

  • They are quite legalistic about their beliefs. To each his own, I guess.

  • Those are 2 very different schools. Greenville, and Upstate SC, host other higher ed facilities as well. If they were all the same, there would only be one. ;)

  • I love you mister Kilgus!

  • mister kilgus reminds me of winnie the pooh! i love how when the precussion take too much time and he gets bored, he starts dancing randomly!

  • Mr. Kilgus is amazing!
