Great band :) I remember seeing them many years ago in Windsor Bucks.

They said that when rehersing songs years ago, they would practice in an

old air-craft hanger where it was always hot and one band member put forward

the name "heatwave" for their Band name ;D

Men like that are excellent lovers too. They really open themselves up and give you ALL of them when they perform, they're free, and it's not an act. They really was kicking at, and singing at the same time. They gave you magic. I miss them so much.....

The great black funk, soul, rock and r&b bands had to bring it live because they were in competition for the black dollar and it wasn't this crossover crap masqurading as Black Music like today appealing to the lowest common stereotypes like Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne and 5Cent. The "bling bling artists of today want to appeal to white racists and black people who have no sense of legacy or rhythm. Heatwave and other Black Bands brought the heat from the 50's to the early 90's.

@TheSpookbythedoor Yeah, there is some truth to that. I know I've read that the Bell Brothers actually were in Ohio prior to heading to or BACk to New Jersey. Yeah, Ohio--particularly DAYTON--has some SERIOUS funk. I don't think I saw Sun, its off-shoot DAYTON, or Faze-O mentioned. My father talks about seeing Heatwave live when we stationed were overseas in the mid-to-late 70s.
