the wilder brothers were not only talented vocalists but great dancers and entertainers!so much energy and good vibes and they didnt miss a step or show any trace of strain in there voices what a joy to witness!
WOW WOW WOW.. now those were the days! I love Heatwave... when I was in High School they were my favorite band... I miss them! R.I.P. Keith Wilder ... you were an amazing talent Sir!
HEATWAVE WOULD JUST COME OUT AND ATTACK U FROM START TO FINISH. PEACE TO JOHNNIE WILDER JR. FOR PUTTING TOGETHER SUCH A MAGNIFICENT BAND AND GIVING US SUPERB MUSIC!
what an excellent performance!outstanding!!!!nobody is like that now adays. Those were the days when guys weren't afraid to cut loose and dance and just have fun doing it. Men like that are excellent lovers too. They really open themselves up and give you ALL of them when they perform, they're free, and it's not an act. They really was kicking at, and singing at the same time. They gave you magic. I miss them so much.....
God Bless you, and Thanks for sharing. You have made my day. Amen.
Heatwave was bad as hell!! I'm from Youngstown Ohio and Robert "Kool" Bell and Ronald Bell are from Youngstown. They grew up and went to school on the east side and still have people there,
@dfriend111 That's what's up! I am from the "Yo" as well and my father swore that he used to throw rocks at them, lol. Yeah, my daddy from the Eastside of Youngstown (Forest St). That is too funny, I guess I owe him an apology! Thanks...are you still there?
And of course went on to write Rock With You, Off The Wall, and Thriller for a certain M Jackson, Stomp for the Brothers Johnson, and Give Me The Night for George Benson.
The great black funk, soul, rock and r&b bands had to bring it live because they were in competition for the black dollar and it wasn't this crossover crap masqurading as Black Music like today appealing to the lowest common stereotypes like Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne and 5Cent. The "bling bling artists of today want to appeal to white racists and black people who have no sense of legacy or rhythm. Heatwave and other Black Bands brought the heat from the 50's to the early 90's.

@Firelogger You are right it was Johnnie the lead singer(IDK I guess its hard to tell for some since he wasn't the only singer....so if one cant tell that way than just look for the best looking guy in the band).
70's music didn't get much better than this song by Heatwave, and as if I needed anymore convincing, seeing this live performance of this song solidifies this band as one of the baddest from out of the 70's, hands down. Those Brotha's had to be in tip top shape to pull off those moves they were doin', lol, awesome live performance from an awesome 70's band, without question!!
If you're not dancing to this with a big grin on your face then you are probably dead.
This is what you call FUN music from a fun era. Man, Keith and Johnny were so infectious, and not a swear word or gun reference in sight. Nice tune by Rod too.
Amazing what you can do with a couple of guitars, a keyboard and a set of drums in the right hands.
Ohio has pumped out so many talents: Heatwave, Bootsy Collins, Zapp and Roger Troutman, Anita Baker, Slave, Kool and the Gang, Lakeside, Dazz Band, The Ohio Players, Faze-O and etc..! Wonderful performance.
@TheSpookbythedoor Don't forget about The O'Jays, LeVert, Rude Boys, Men at Large, The Deele, Midnight Star, Shirley Murdock, Randy Crawford, The Isley Brothers etc......
@Msredhoney720 I know right, I am from Youngstown, Ohio and my dad said that they used to throw rocks at them and I just laughed but I guess it is true, lol!
@Msredhoney720 at that time a couple members of "kool of the gang" when they were kids. Now he may be lying but he claims that a couple were in Youngstown but he always said they were from Ohio.
@Msredhoney720 If you didn't grow up in my house, you probably wouldn't have. My only point was that there is probably truth that some members were from somewhere in Ohio.
@TheSpookbythedoor Yes you could be right. I just stated that I had never heard that any of Kool and the Gang were from Ohio. But it may be true. We Ohioans will take all the music credit that we can get bcuz other than music Ohio has nothing else to be proud of as far as I'm concerned.
@TheSpookbythedoor Yeah, there is some truth to that. I know I've read that the Bell Brothers actually were in Ohio prior to heading to or BACk to New Jersey. Yeah, Ohio--particularly DAYTON--has some SERIOUS funk. I don't think I saw Sun, its off-shoot DAYTON, or Faze-O mentioned. My father talks about seeing Heatwave live when we stationed were overseas in the mid-to-late 70s.
