  • Great band :) I remember seeing them many years ago in Windsor Bucks.

They said that when rehersing songs years ago, they would practice in an

old air-craft hanger where it was always hot and one band member put forward

the name "heatwave" for their Band name ;D

  • I like this live version. I wish I could be in the audience shakin' my moneymaker!!!

  • hell I never seen anything like it!

  • The 70s was the time. There are no bands out there like this nowadays. DAMN

  • what an excellent performance!outstanding!!!!nobody is like that now adays. Those were the days when guys weren't afraid to cut loose and dance and just have fun doing it. Men like that are excellent lovers too. They really open themselves up and give you ALL of them when they perform, they're free, and it's not an act. They really was kicking at, and singing at the same time. They gave you magic. I miss them so much.....

God Bless you, and Thanks for sharing. You have made my day. Amen.

  • pure magic. real vocals and moves. WOW Itgets better each time i watch

  • pure magic. real vocals and moves. WOW.

  • johnnie was no joke, bruh.

  • They had much energy on stage ...

  • Heatwave was bad as hell!! I'm from Youngstown Ohio and Robert "Kool" Bell and Ronald Bell are from Youngstown. They grew up and went to school on the east side and still have people there,

  • @dfriend111 That's what's up! I am from the "Yo" as well and my father swore that he used to throw rocks at them, lol. Yeah, my daddy from the Eastside of Youngstown (Forest St). That is too funny, I guess I owe him an apology! Thanks...are you still there?

  • ah man these were some bad muthafuckas!!!

  • So glad it is still posted. Food for the soul

  • LMAO! HEATWAVE USED TO BRING IT!!!

  • now this is what i call a performance!! u can tell by watching them they enjoyed what they did! rest in peace Johnny Wilder!

  • haha damn that stuff was dope!

  • I LOVE IT!!!!

  • This is THE BEST!

  • The Wilder brothers know how to groove....I believe that Heatwave had a genius musician named Rod Temperton.

  • @4Ebsus

rod temperton is on the keys. he left later on and still wrote for heatwave.

  • @irudont

And of course went on to write Rock With You, Off The Wall, and Thriller for a certain M Jackson, Stomp for the Brothers Johnson, and Give Me The Night for George Benson.

  • the 70s was the time

  • I love this song so much, it's awesome and it pertains to the band name HEATWAVE~

  • superb

  • The great black funk, soul, rock and r&b bands had to bring it live because they were in competition for the black dollar and it wasn't this crossover crap masqurading as Black Music like today appealing to the lowest common stereotypes like Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne and 5Cent. The "bling bling artists of today want to appeal to white racists and black people who have no sense of legacy or rhythm. Heatwave and other Black Bands brought the heat from the 50's to the early 90's.

  • Da true dodgyfunk and that aint no jive y'all.

  • Them boys bad!

  • Heatwave is sho nufff funky Hottttt !!!!!!

  • What a great band!

  • Out of control! And Johnnie was just too hot to handle! Amazing band.

  • 2DAYS SOUND CANT STAND N THE SAME ROOM...listen up youngsters this is what YA CALL TALENT...... musical artist with multi talent...... JUST BRILLIANT! Takes me back 2 a time n music/life..people partied 4 the love & fun quality tunes like this gave us.We will never witness such greatness again. Happy i didnt miss that bus.

  • Funky!

  • I love too hot handle by Heatwave and keith wilder he will missed

his passing at 56 we love you keith wilder

  • @arevaj I just watched 'unsung' on tvone. They said It was Johnnie who died, not Keith.

  • @Firelogger You are right it was Johnnie the lead singer(IDK I guess its hard to tell for some since he wasn't the only singer....so if one cant tell that way than just look for the best looking guy in the band).

  • keith wilder he had very nice voice he will be missed

  • Very good, and it is always fun to see the live acts. You can't ignore Boogie Nights, but this is a good second best by Heatwave.

  • this is INSANE. Wow. That is what dance music is all about!

  • My girlfriend posted this about a year ago on FB, and I liked to have died..this is one of my favorite old school live performances.

  • This was Beyond BAD ASS!!!!!!

  • 70's music didn't get much better than this song by Heatwave, and as if I needed anymore convincing, seeing this live performance of this song solidifies this band as one of the baddest from out of the 70's, hands down. Those Brotha's had to be in tip top shape to pull off those moves they were doin', lol, awesome live performance from an awesome 70's band, without question!!

  • Right ON man... RIGHT ON!!!

  • If you're not dancing to this with a big grin on your face then you are probably dead.

This is what you call FUN music from a fun era. Man, Keith and Johnny were so infectious, and not a swear word or gun reference in sight. Nice tune by Rod too.

Amazing what you can do with a couple of guitars, a keyboard and a set of drums in the right hands.

  • Just BRILLIANT!!!!!!

    Fucking BRILLIANT!!!!

  • thanks for re-posting this jam up Heatwave were bad live

  • Now that's how you get down!!

  • funky AZZZ! i love how the drummer is really into it in the beginning. tight song, tight song!

  • Slick job. Fuck, what's happening with the music today?

  • Ohio has pumped out so many talents: Heatwave, Bootsy Collins, Zapp and Roger Troutman, Anita Baker, Slave, Kool and the Gang, Lakeside, Dazz Band, The Ohio Players, Faze-O and etc..! Wonderful performance.

  • @TheSpookbythedoor .. yo yo anita baker is from detroit. she was toledo when she was a baby!!

  • @TheSpookbythedoor .. yo yo . Anita Baker is from detroit she left toledo when she was a baby!!!

  • @shudrod240 Oh, ok! I didn't know that.

  • @TheSpookbythedoor Don't forget about The O'Jays, LeVert, Rude Boys, Men at Large, The Deele, Midnight Star, Shirley Murdock, Randy Crawford, The Isley Brothers etc......

  • @Msredhoney720 Man, I forgot about Levert but I didn't know that The Deele, Midnight Star and Randy Crawford claim Ohio. Thanks Ms. Red.

  • @TheSpookbythedoor I wish Ohio could claim Kool and the Gang, but they actually originated in New Jersey!

  • @Msredhoney720 I know right, I am from Youngstown, Ohio and my dad said that they used to throw rocks at them and I just laughed but I guess it is true, lol!

  • @TheSpookbythedoor Throw rocks at who????

  • @Msredhoney720 at that time a couple members of "kool of the gang" when they were kids. Now he may be lying but he claims that a couple were in Youngstown but he always said they were from Ohio.

  • @TheSpookbythedoor ok If you say so, but I never heard of that.

  • @Msredhoney720 If you didn't grow up in my house, you probably wouldn't have. My only point was that there is probably truth that some members were from somewhere in Ohio.

  • @TheSpookbythedoor Yes you could be right. I just stated that I had never heard that any of Kool and the Gang were from Ohio. But it may be true. We Ohioans will take all the music credit that we can get bcuz other than music Ohio has nothing else to be proud of as far as I'm concerned.

  • @Msredhoney720 There seems to be some kind of connection between Jersey (the place I proudly represent) and Ohio when it comes to the funk.

  • @TheSpookbythedoor Yeah, there is some truth to that. I know I've read that the Bell Brothers actually were in Ohio prior to heading to or BACk to New Jersey. Yeah, Ohio--particularly DAYTON--has some SERIOUS funk. I don't think I saw Sun, its off-shoot DAYTON, or Faze-O mentioned. My father talks about seeing Heatwave live when we stationed were overseas in the mid-to-late 70s.

  • what a killer performance!!!

  • They were a tight outfit back in the day! A young Rod Temperton on keys!!

  • Brilliant Piece Of Live Footage.. :)

  • Thanks for posting this video. I love Heatwave. Rip Johnny Wilder.

  • BEST OF THE BEST!!! These cats can groove
