Bishan town was originally known as Kampong San Teng, a quiet and rural area overrun with wild grass and plants.
This area included an old cemetery called Pi Shan Ting meaning 'Pavilion on The Greens'. Bishan derived its name from the large Cantonese burial ground, known as peck san ting (in pinyin is bi shan ting), which used to cover the area.

@jas4797 Oh I see . Thanx for the info . Might be useful to me when I go to Singapore with my friend , Zuri , someday . He used to work in an eatery called "Jurong Park" , wherever that is . He now lives next door of our kampong . He's at Kampung Lopeng Tengah , while I at Kampung Lembah Hijau . Both kampongs in Miri Sarawak East Malaysia .
@MrHelmyabdullah You are welcome, bro. Singapore used to have many kampongs. But all has being develop due to pple in Singapore has getting more and more. Now Bishan has developed into HDBs and shopping centres.
@jas4797 I can be contacted at either facebook (helmy abdullah) or mobile at 019-8853295 or home phone at 000-085-430 295 or office phone at 000-085- 413 333 (Pacific Orient Hotel Miri Sarawak)
I believe him, my friend told me that he once rent a HDB flat and his son saw a old uncle with pale face almost everyday in their house. And he is the only person who is able to see them. One of my Malay friend also learn how to be clam when he see ghosts.
I know Mr Hazrie is not lying . I've been there many times and whenever i was at that staircase of that blk, i feel goosebump. The staircase quite eerie at night. FYI, that area used to be a GRAVEYARD!!!!!!
@superflashist My house in Kampong Lembah Hijau (Miri Sarawak East Malaysia) is haunted too . But I couldn't care too much about that because that's my house and I got nowhere to go .
