C'mon, no security threads? Every Junior High Programer knows that there is no software with no bug! Of corse there is good programing pratices that can help minimize them, but surelly denying then is not one of them!

And Microsoft hires the best developers, with such programing pratices to do they work and avoiding such quirks and also they do not denying their flaws as some other fundations out there do.

Mozila is not an company wich the employers develop a software to get money with it, firefox is done by he own users who know programming and want a browser stable secure, fast, light and wich follow the web standards (diferente from IE)

When MS took to bankruptcy the competition, they stop developing IE and focus only in the other Windows programas, but the internet is in constant evolution, browsers should too!

IE stops to evolve until the competition start to threaten he monopoly

I mean, have you ever tried to send them a patch, a bug fix or feature? Well, I did. And guess what, it is harder then edit a wikipedia's hit article. The same thing that happens in both, they both claim to be open and stuff, but when someone is really into helping it, you are blocked by the dictators because one thinks different.

And also, if you send a bug fix to some dictator, it will enter as if it as his, not yours.

sorry underestimated you, I thought you was one of the 5,9 billion of people who never listen about Open Source/Free Software, but that is not the case, by what i saw, the main problem here is a problem i the comunity not in the software, bug fix is not so crucial as a security fail, but if this comunity fail to keep together, probably firefox will fragment in other projects. so we will keep the source code in development.

I know that DarkSneaseIFP has a point, sure IE wasn't developing great after it had no competition. But still it doesn't make Firefox all that wonder that people say.

I mean, to get such market share, the advertising for Firefox was massive, it counted on blind faith from its followers, a campaign full of FUD, which did criticized more the competition then showed the pros.

The arguments used by the firefox cult followers saying that if you use Firefox you will be immune to threads is as bullshit as if Pepsi said that if you drink Pepsi instead of coke you would be able to fly.

And also many of the arguments FFC followers use, like IE is insecure because its libraries are used by the windows shell is also bullshit. If it was like that, Safari would not be able to use webkit or Fedora would not be able to use xulrunner as the gnome gecko backend!

any companie can get the code of firefox, and help to develope or create an variant (if keep the licence) the main problem here is profit, a company will never develope a program if it dont increase her profit, and how can any company compete with MS, with a freeware, and stills get profit?
