You are reading this of the screen from a website that doesn't understand the concept of what a resistor ACTUALLY DOES. A resistor slows and evens out the amount of energy used per second.

@sandan921 slows it? No, it REDUCES it. OHMS is not a measurement of speed. A resistor limits the flow of electricity.

If you have a 3.2 OHM resistor the max output would be 3.2 OHM's. It wouldn't be 3.2 time's slower. It also doesn't even things out. ie 2.1 earlier in series, means the 3.2 is reduced to 2.1.

If a capacitor was places after the 2.1 it could store a charge to it's max stored value and isn't limited to 2.1

@Masterpie224 the difference is a disposable camera actually works. Not to mention you're not really wasting a camera, after you finish using a disposable camera you just throw it out. Hence it's DISPOSABLE. So you can convert that instead of throwing it out.

I might be wrong, but there are some kind of lighters, that just have a button to ignite the lighter, that if you smash it to pieces, the igniter-thing with comes out, and when you push the button while you have the wires on for example your hand, you feel a little shock right? So could that be a kind of a taser or not?

yes i found that the best way to stop someone is not with a Ipod yet was an actual taser being able to fight or having ten guys with you at all times yet if those don't fit your needs and you are simply determined to use you Ipod for protection just glue it to a Glock 9mm.

The fact of the matter is, if you follow the connections from the headphone jack to the circuit board in an ipod you will see that there is indeed a resistor immediately attached to the output of an ipod. The point is that there are no cap's capable of storing a charge on the output of an ipod. So you fail.

Actually, no. There's not enough voltage that goes through an Ipod to make this possible...

If you REALLY wanted to do this, do a search for taser out of a disposable camera. You know how when you turn on a camera you have to wait for the flash to charge? That's actually designed to make a large amount of current to be discharged in the flash right away, Although you probably wouldn't knock someone out with it, it would really really hurt.

Right ie: Resistors RESIST current, meaning they limit current. A capacitor STORES current and then discharges it all at once.

If you don't have a multimeter, how about you attach the leads to a 100 watt lightbulb?
