Are you for hire for painting a frame ?

    I need that candy blue

    Thanks Rick

  • @lemonkiwi551 Hi Rick. If you were next door I'd get'er done for you but I'd be afraid it would get damaged in the mail. Newfoundland is a loooong way from the good ol' USA :) Thanks for asking.

  • hey Paul, how are you doing?

  • Cool Man, Thanks a lot.

  • @HondaMiniTrail69 You are kindly welcome :)

  • What's The Song?

  • @HondaMiniTrail69 The song is by Jay and the Americans and it's called "This Magic Moment". I used it for two reasons. #1 because the song was on the Billboard charts in 1969 which is the same year as the little bike. #2 seeing it completed and running was indeed a "Magic moment" :)

  • Dear paul,

you are truly an artist and an inspiration to me with your work. This slide show and the music is stock in my mind till the day I finish restoring my bike . Hope you do more videos like this. Keep in touch.

  • @hamidmoslehi Thanks again. Glad you enjoyed seeing the video. The video's are my weakest point but I somehow get them done :( the song was o the billboard 100 in 1969 so i thought it would work well with the video. Thanks for posting and subscribing.

  • 良い仕事だ!!

  • @TheMTFUJI3776 ありがとう

  • Hi Paul

Fantastic job on buffing the aluminium. Just beautiful.

I'm curious to know if you coated them to preserve the finish.

    Tom

I'm inspired by your level of perfection.

  • @leonardtoomassaar Hi Tom. I coated a few of the bikes. The ones that will get used occasionally. After the buffing is completed wash the parts in acid-tone then clear coat. I used automotive clear with hardener. Appreciate your kind comments. Thank you very much. If it's worth doing, It's worth doing well :) Cheers, Paul

  • The best video on youtube. Thanks Paul for sharing with the world your video!!! And thank you for showing to me this beatiful song!!! Cheers from Brazil. Felipe

  • @bonventi Thanks Felpie. I appreciate your kind words That song was one of the top songs in 1969 which was the same year the bike was built. Thank you again my friend :). Cheers from Canada

  • how much did it cost all together?

  • @CodeLiberty I never look at the cost. I'm more concerned about the end result. To quote one guy who seen it in person "It's a labor of love" Yep I agreed with him :)

  • i should see this some where im in bay roberts haha well done.

  • @deathkeeper5000 Ya drop by some time :)

  • very beautiful restoration man

where did you find the sleepy eye for it?

  • @elpoise I think I've had parts for this project from all over the world. Even some of it from fleebay. 90% of it was from CHPUSA . Appreciate your comments and glad to know you like the little bike. Thanks!

  • Paul, I have a z50 as well but a newer model, also have a CT70 in Brazil they are called Honda ST70, I also have a Honda CG 125 1978. Check out my videos they are all there.

  • @bonventi Felipe I'll go and check your videos out next. Everything you see in my video's I did and it's all custom. I like the custom stuff because I get to make it look a little different like the forklift and Miller welding stuff. Thank you for posting. Paul

  • I love this video, very nice bike, very nice shop, nice tools, and perfect music. Congratualions and happy riding!!!

    Cheers from Brazil,

    Felipe

  • @bonventi Thank you Felipe. The song is from 1969 as well as the Z50 so that's why I used it in the video. I had a bike just like this one as a kid and I wanted another one to add to my collection. I put allot of hours working in my shop and my wife says I have to many tools but I tell her you can't have to many tools :) All the vintage items you see here on my YouTube vids are added to my collection. Very happy you enjoyed this video. Thanks so much. Cheers from Newfoundland, Canada :)

  • Excellent job

I have a few mini bikes in my collection that I am restoring

Check them out at tomsvintageminis on utube

    Great video

    Thanks

    Tom

  • Hi Tom. Checked out your vids. Nice bikes sir. Seems my interests are all over the place with Honda bikes, Coca Cola and gasoline memorabilia and then the custom stuff I'm doing . My biggest problem is I'm running out of room :( Thanks for your comments. Paul

  • hi there, my dad sold you this bike, you did a great job!

  • Hello to you as well. Glad you like the little bike and when you see your Dad again tell him Paul said Hi. Ride safe!

  • quick question? why the color change? and in the first couple pics the tank has the oval minitrail emblem and then you changed it to the round badge 69 tank?

  • Two great questions and I'll answer them as honestly as possible. I purchased the bike on the other end of the country. It arrived in three boxes and the tank that arrived with it was the wrong tank for that model Z50 so I restored the correct tank that you see on it now.

I slightly changed the color for two reasons. #1. I just got tired of seeing the same red, blue and yellow Z50's being restored.#2. I wanted to and have a "One Of" Z50. Thanks for your questions :)

  • If you want to see this bike and others that I have in my collection visit the flickr photo site and look for me hondadudecanada and you'll see them as they really are:)

  • you do great work! i really like the bike. I have a couple of these i am in the process of restoreing and when done will post videos. I am also making a side car for my 1971 z50! it will also feature a 90 cc motor and chrome rims.

  • Thanks. The "69 was the only year the Z50 had a battery and other than the fact I had one just like it when I was 10 years old I wanted that year of Z50.

Out of all the things I've restored this is the one that I'll keep and give to my grandchild if I ever get one :)

  • hey grreat job there im actually in the middle of partially restoring a 1973 z50 and i was just wondering what you used to get your hubs so shiny?

  • @stevendavis150 Thanks. I use a one HP buffer and two different compounds to buff all the aluminum parts. I then clear coat them. That might be the only part of the restoration I dislike because of the mess it makes but it's essential to do it if you want a nice restoration.

  • Another AWESOME Project Paul. On a scale of 1 to 10 this project is over the top! Your talent as no limits. Your Buddy in EASTERN IOWA U.S.A

  • Thanks Jerry. One good thing about having all of these bikes is when you come to visit you'll find something to ride :) Appreciate your kind words sir.

  • Congratulations, superb restoration. Those pollished parts look awesome.Happy New Year from the UK
