It's so sad that the parents don't want to take any part of the "Deaf World", so they install a CI on the child. When a person lacks a sense or is weak with one of them, one of their other senses become a lot stronger. When the child becomes older and realizes that their voice is different among others, chances are that they will get made fun of and possibly picked on. I would introduce the child into the deaf culture NOW before they realize what will happen.
Deaf people are not silent, their lives are not silent! If any of you even know anything about Deafness then you would know that it is not a disability, but meerly a different way of living. People who are Deaf have their own culture, storytelling, language, jokes, etc. The problem is that 90% of Deaf children are born to hearing parents...hearing parents who are often uneducated about Deafness and the options that exist for Deaf children and their families. "Sound" is not that important.
It's a shame, It a waste of money, I felt sorry for that little girl who been cruelty force cochlear implant by her parents who can't be bother learning sign language
I felt sorry for kid their parent force to install poor child cochlear implant, It so cruel, Parents should leave child alone she born deaf that it, You cannot force her to hear with so called cochlear implant but parent should accept their daughter who is born deaf and they should learn sign language easily without stress
It's cruel for a parent who loves their child, to want them to enjoy the sounds of the world? I think CI are amazing things and that parents who choose them for their children are courageous and admirable. This sweet girl no longer has to miss out on her own voice, her parent's voice, music, the sound of rain, crickets chirping. I can almost guarantee that when she's older, and finds out what a wonderful gift her parents gave her, she won't say "How dare you! I wanted to live in silence!"
Well that really your choice to encourage kid to have CI, I am deaf I do want to hear anything like hearing people do but unfortulately I cannot hear but I do enjoy my life in silence with deaf friends and hearing people too who can use sign language, I hope your kid who got CI in happiness future and hear anything, God bless xx
@310BPM Well I agree with you but child born hearing that fine if child born deaf you can't force child to become hearing it is natural and you should learn sign language,
A lot of hard of hearing and deaf people can speak. Just because they have lost some or all of their hearing does not mean that they can't use their voice. That's why there is such a thing as Voice Carry Over in relay services.
This is extremely funny and precious, I love it

@pepsico8
you honestly think it's shameful to want your children to be able to hear music, and their parents voices, and their own voice?
you're an idiot and obviously do not have children.
i am blessed with being able to hear music and singing and my mother's beautiful voice, just like this girl is now.

@goodtube77
it's not that they're too lazy to learn ASL, it's that they want their children to be able to hear. duh.

uhhh.. if you've never been able to hear, then you don't know what it's like.
you'll never understand the joys music and laughter and singing can bring.
and that's fine. but i want my children, and this girl, to understand that. and so does her parents.
