  • sfisk09 Divorce is hell its all over but the crying thanks hank.......

  • This expressed my feelings for a loved one. I missed her for a while.

  • Great song, Hank is an awesome performer!

  • We attended one of Hank Jr.'s shows in the late 70's and he played four different instruments and along with his singing.and the great band with him it was one heck of a wonderful performance.

Hank's style is really close to his dad's, which makes it really special, but he's still his own man for sure. I really love his romantic ballads and he does a terrific job with this song here. Thank you for posting. - Paula

  • I've seen the movie twice in which Hank sung this wonderful ballad. He's a pretty good actor and I liked the story line itself. Thanks once more for posting this treasure. - Paula(PaulinaRena).

  • @PaulinaRena its interesting that hank jr is always compared to his father. in many ways hank jr has had a much longer lasting, more meaningful career than his father. yet he still feels inadequate to his dad. but that's most boys. no matter how much they accomplish, they always feel they're falling short of their daddy's expectations.

  • If I had a dime for every beer I drank listening to this song on eight-track, I could have retired a long time ago. We used to call it the National Anthem.

  • My Dad used to say something like that about Jerry Lee's "What Made Milwaukee Famous." He said he bought that record while he was serving overseas and pretty much wore it out.

  • amen brother!

  • when was this?

  • brock lesnar just said the title of this song as a speach

  • Hank Williams you (both) wrote my life!!

  • I like all three of them and there music. But I personally think Hank Jr has got them all beat.. Everyone gives Hank a bad rep because he plays with new talent and ppl like kid rock, kracker, aerosmith, etc.... But what they dont realize is that when he was singing all his fathers songs and switched to his own style. The only people that gave him a chance were people like Marshall Tucker band, Chalie Daniels and the outlaws of the 70s.. So i think its cool that he's giving others a chance aswell

  • that's right, man. hank was on top of the world doing sr's songs, and chose to reinvent his whole style and start all over, then built an empire in his own right. this cat is a living legend, and we're lucky to have him. by the way, he plays with other people because they BEG him to let them play with him. you bow before the king and show respect, then maybe he'll sit on stage with you...

  • fuck all you hellbilly haters Hank III is the man and he is more country than his damn daddy singing with that hep c yank kid rock

  • your the stupidest person in the world

  • i didnt think someone could be so dumb

  • educated or not on the history of country comparing or not, This family is legend in country music and to compare them to one another is just natural cause they are the great rockers of country if anything you can see how the music evolved over time in the same family... they are history and they will always be....Lovin that country and Hank jr Rocks his like in the middle of the rockin country but he also has that lonesome blues touch he rock forever and for always....

  • ok, i'll school you nimrods now.

    1. since hank sr INVENTED country music, you only get to compare hank sr to himself--BUT--

2.hank jr was a headlining act when he was 8!! he had greatest hits at 11! he plays guitar, lead, piano, banjo, violin, and plays then WELL. they BOTH write their own music, but jr can also play every instrument on the song. comparing the two is like saying "what's worse, dying by great white or hammerhead?" they'd both be pretty unreal, way way out of the norm...

  • but yet hank III gets overlooked.....im just saying grandaddy daddy and son are all great

  • hank ||| is a joke, he does not understand the music his father and grandfather both perfected. no one will ever surpass hank jr and hank sr

  • I wouldn't necessarily say he invented country music. Go back and listen to some Jimmie Rodgers. There is a reason he's dubbed the "Father of Country Music." But, I see where you're coming from. I would say Hank was probably the earliest "honky tonk" singer, at best.

  • i agree about hank lll being overlooked--as long as he does the death metal nonsense he'll be overlooked--and well said, dook--hank brought to the world the subset of original country on the jimmy rogers stripe of honky tonk.

  • 1. hank sr. did not invent country music, thats pretty widely attributed to jimmie rodgers and the carter family. in fact, country music had been around for decades before hank became a major contributor to it.

    2. hank jr. cant play any of those instruments well. the only thing he could do well was sing and write. and he hasnt been worth a shit since he fell off the mountain.

    3. thanks for the schooling.

  • 1)Hank can play any instrument and play it well.

    2) You need the schooling.

    3) He's sold over 100 million records.

    4) How many you done sold?

    5) Glad to have schooled you

    NEXT!

  • couldnt have said it better, way to go!

  • Well said my man. Well said. I could not agree more.

  • did you say "not worth a shit???" what a fucking idiot you are, hortonfanatic! and NO ONE was doing what hank sr did BEFORE hank sr did it! i'm not taking away from rodgers, but sr stood on his own. i have no patience for someone who would say jr can't play well--i seen him live, and i know instruments. by the way, horton can only play fast, but fast isn't the same thing as great. learn something about music. and it's my pleasure to school you, moron....

  • that was fucking beautiful

  • My absolute favorite Hank Jr. song. I remember a teenage break up where I played this song over and over and cried and cried! LOL!

  • is it really Hank? there is another version of this song by a band called Sandpiper...

  • It sure is! I have this record... his absolute best, imo!

  • Are you kidding? you can tell its him by the time he sings two words!

  • hank williams was the greatest but in hiw own way hanks williams jr is the best lets not for get his mom she made em both famous

  • Great video...I have the Album and it's really good. Does anyone remember the name of the group that was in this movie. They were entered into the talent contest with Hank. I think they're name was "The XL'S" ?...but I really would like to find the song they sang in the movie.

  • I Heard This Song Was Written By Harlan Howard.Even If It Wasn't It's Still A Good Song.Sounds Like Harlan Though Since It's Good.

  • ole harlen was great but this one my friend came from the ink pen of teenage hank jr.....

  • i like this movie man some scens are heart touching man he and his mama are talking in the huge house he don't want to sing his daddy's music anymore his mama told him she don't want him to be dead like his daddy

  • This song is from the movie A Time To Sing.

    Starring Hank Williams Jr.

  • just found this, its great man pure hank. i wonder what hank sr and the cowboys version might of sounded like? you can hear his daddy in this song, thanx for posting...

  • What movie was this from? PLs thnk u pls

  • The Movie was called "A Time To Sing"

  • Thank you, SAVAGE

  • i love this song i love hank hank II and hank III!!

  • he aint his daddy

  • i agree with you bro he aint his dad. he is better. he has taken everything his daddy left and he is improving it. he will never be as influential to the genre as his dad but he is simply the best

  • na Hank Sr. was the best at his style, Hank Jr was best at his style. But they were both even. Hank 3 could be big if hed stop cussin' drinkin' smoking pot and being everything that southern gentelmen shouldnt be.

  • I agree with crazycuntryboy2 hank sr is the bes, hank jr is good, plus this video shows how songs where recorded when this song came out in the 60's they where recorded live now days it done multitrack.

  • You're a fucking abortion of a human being. No one will ever come close to Hank Sr. Especially none of his offspring. Whatever generation they may be. And I can guarantee they'd agree with that.

  • let me restate what i meant, i like hank jr's style better then his dads, the songs he re-did are def not as good as his fathers but i bet if senior could re do some of juniors songs then they wouldnt be as good either

  • This is true. But I do this this Hank Jr better than the today version. I like all the older stars though.

  • naw he ain't but 3 damn close

  • Yes,this is definitely one of Hank Jr's best songs.Very nice.TQ for posting.

  • My oh my that is way better than any other songs of his that I've ever heard! Awesome...looks like I have some investigating to do into some old Hank Jr music.

  • i watch this movie, its awesome.

  • He was rather cute before his accident. Too bad he doesn't have a nice personality to match.

  • Apperantly you don't know him. He's a fine person.

  • I have met him and he was very cold and condescending. However, I will give him the benefit of a doubt and say that it just may have been that day.

  • If you were inundated with fans on a daily basis, you'd have a clearer understanding.

  • WOW REALLY COOL
