@fwopgossles What a coincidence!! I was about to say the same! My Grandfather also used to call himself a real fan of Nana Mouskouri... And now she sings my favourite song..... Oh, how much I wish sometimes my granddad was still alive. He was a quite great, but unknown pianist. These days I'm so much into making music, I wish he could hear it... Wish I could show him something like this..... I'm sure he'd absolutely love it! Nobody really makes music in my family, except me and my granddad.
@Musicsmoke, he can, he will, and he does. Not in any way that you and I can comprehend, but if you believe in music, and in art, than you already understand in essence. A bee buzzing against a large glass window can feel the limitation, though not perceive just how it works. Just like music, your very own love is a lot older than you are. How can that be? It is true, and you and your granddad have a million happinesses yet to share with each other.
This is singing as it should be - totally effortless. There has never been - and I suspect there never will be - a better vocalist than Nana Mouskouri.
This is incredible! Especially since this isn't her native language. Where was this filmed for? Her style is very similar to other female American singers from that period. We really don't have talent like this anymore.
I am very grateful that I was able to hear this lady sing. I may have run into her late in life but to hear her voice makes me want to live even longer. She has a voice that only God could give and I know when it comes her time He will have her there singing for Him.
i used to listen to it with someone at home. He said that bridge over trubled water is his favorite song, and i only have the edition sung by Nana, we enjoyed it together. It is a sweet memory for me. i like Nana's songs always, and he is a paulo simon fan....
The West has Nana Mouskouri & the East has Teresa Teng. They both hv gifted singing talent & diversity in languages. On top of Mandarin, Cantonese, Chinese dialects, TT sings in Japanese, English, Indonesian, Vietnamese. Can't agree a word, simply check out 3 of Teresa's English songs:
Marvelous! Another favorite, I have heard her sing this many times, but to watch her perform !! She does have a great stage presence. I never tire of hearing her sing. Thank you
