    "I'm sure you will."

    EPIC!!!

  • 3:43

    google? o_O

  • you know where i can download this

  • Ah, the good old days, where you can explore the inner worlds and NOT find demons ready to tear out your ribcage.

  • I love the traveling music at 6:16. Like others, I played this multiple times b/c my brother bought a computer that included this among its free CD ROM games. I still have the disk--should see if I can play it on something...

  • I tried so hard to figure out what game this was I played 11 years ago. Finally found it thanks to Google and your video. Seriously who thought typing in old time adventure game with crystals would be enough?

  • this game is epic story wise and gameplay wise

  • @OHerekel000 you still run windows 95??

  • i my gosh, i loved torin's passage, it was my favourite game

  • oh my god, I playd it as I was a little girl o:

  • The beginning is gloomy ....

  • 3:21 Wow, that's some really over-the top animation.

  • Wow. Wow wow wow! I was ten years old when I first played this game. My dad had gotten a shiny new IBM with a whole packet of compact discs, including The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain. Oh, the nostalgia. :)

Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • @redephelant I had the same packet :) Dr. Brain, Battle beasts, Mech warrior 2, Wide world of animals etc ;)

  • @redephelant i played dr. brain!!!

  • @redephelant I think my parents got that same IBM. An Aptiva right?

  • @jas3point14 Yup! Those were the days.

  • @cloudfishfish That thing came with a lot of good stuff. The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain was good, as well as Torin's Passage, but I'm still a Mechwarrior fan. Can't wait for the new one to finally be released.

  • What a memories..i used to play this when i was 4 or something O_O with my dad

  • not sure if it was because you lack a mic but i really love how your commentary was kept to the annotations. sometimes i DON'T want to hear some nerd wheezing on for ten minutes over the game i'm trying to get some gameplay info on.

  • holy crackerjack! I use to play this game XD I wonder if it's still in the house somewhere

  • @ra341ao A computer game.

  • what is this?a game or a movie>?

  • These annotations are so stupid. Thank God they can be turned off. This is one of my all time favorite PC games and you are ruining it. You are not funny.

  • Thank you very much for these videos. I have this game but i havent been able to play this in years because of these new computers. But i was just wondering if anybody agrees with me that this is one of the best intro's in video game history. It sets up things jus pefectly and it is allso pretty scary. I remember when i used to play this game and i was so scared of this game, not just the opening. But really a great adventure! Its a shame they dont make game's like this anymore...

  • @johnwoofan

If you wish to play in Windows 7, you need to install and then change the compatibility of th SIERRAW.EXE file to Windows 95 and also 256 colors. It will work. Good luck.

  • 4:00 what kind of animal is that...

  • This game came with a bunch of new pc's in the mid 90's. I think that's why so many people got to play it.

  • the voice sounds familiar...

  • holy crap i can't believe this

    nostalgia!!

    thanks so much!

  • @shoespeak Wow. Holy shit... same here--I remember this game from WAAAAAY back in the day... and it sort of "slipped through the cracks" overall. Amazing game, but got lost in the marketing shuffle...

  • Dude, your comments are so entertaining, I might watch all 20 videos. Curses!

  • First game i bought with my OWN money, believe it or not ;) I got so entangled in this game, and i really liked the story. Was damn sad too sometimes i think.

  • i remember playing this such a long time ago. and kings quest, too. those were the good old days.

  • Thank you so, so much for uploading this!

  • Hum, I have a question about your videos, how did you record the game ?

I tried but the video was all black (but I could see my mouse...)

(Sorry for my english I'm French)

  • I don't remember completely, because it has been so many years, but cant you climb the barrel next to Torin's home and jump off the roof?

  • I love this game, I havent played it in like 7 years, I miss it! Good times..

  • they just dont make games like this anymore! =(

  • NOOOOOOOOOOO MY PC WON'T PLAY WINDOWS95 ONLY GAMES

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • i used to love that game ;D

  • 4:27.........DULL SURPRISE!

  • To all of you who want to play this game again, you can download it as freeware on download. chip. eu / de /Torins-Passage _6069890. html (without blanks of course) It's a German site, but the game is in English ^^

  • I remember this game, but I Don't remember Did I pass this game for instance one time :/

I have this game in polish and version on XP, but never version go on Windows XP and I don't know why this game isn't going on my computer :(

I was like this game in my childhood :)

And I want play this game again :)

  • omg last playing is when i was 9 and now i have 16 =)

  • This was my most favorite game as a kid =] I miss it though! I hate how the newer computers wont let me install it =[

  • One of my favorite games of all time even to this date, id prefer to play this over most of todays games...though to bad this never got the amount of fame it deseverd...like kings quest did :P

  • 4:50 Emo Cedric !

  • how do you know how a drowning seal sounds ike

  • >>1:59

why did that thunderclap sound so much like a stock sound effect for a gunshot?

  • This totally rocks my socks off! I LOVED this game as a kid, and the added balloons make it even funnier. Thanks for the memories and some laughs as well! :-)

  • I love this game, haven't played it in a very long while, I think I know what I'll do in the next weeks :D

  • he looks an awful lot like aladdin with blonde hair. coincidence?

  • I used to play this game so much lol, could never get more than 998 points.

  • Thanks for doing this! Really takes me back.

P.S. I love how Torin's so chill yet upbeat about everything. "Yeah, my parents got magically abducted two and half minutes ago, but I'll tell ya: this ax o' mine is such an ax."

Especially Crystal City at the end, he was JUST talking about how sick he was of this little city, but now he's literally awestruck by it. Either he's going through a very bizarre form of shock, or he is one level-headed fellow. I wish more of my friends were like him.

  • What amazed me was the planet had 4 planets living inside it I mean yes their was A Journey to the Center of the Earth and so on but not indepth showing the whole planet and the 4 planets inside it now that's incredible.

  • Good lord. Nobody can just EMOTE in this game, they constantly have to swing their arms XD

    Still, awesome game :)

  • Good times...good memories. I helped my dad do some of the animation for this game. :)

  • I loved this back in the day :DDD

  • oh my god i remember this game i use to watch my dad play it all the time, and when boogle god kid napped i started crying haha, gooooood times

  • Ah man I remember this! Played it on my 90mhz olivetti machine!

  • OH MY GOD

I loved this game sooo much.

I just spent half an hour googling

"old computer game layers of earth"

I remember some grass patch and you click and voices saying No NO NO YES

    haha good times

  • OH MY GOD

  • I was amazed at this game. I had stopped playing video games after my Sega Genesis days.. not much time had passed, but back then a year was a long time to not play games. I got this PC game when my Step Dad brought home a new computer. I couldn't believe how awesome the graphics were compared to my console games back then. And the humor that was in the game was an added since I'm a goof ball myself.

  • I never beat the game I got stuck in one spot. This was in 1996'ISH.. the early to mid 90s when I was in Jr. College. Not as flash-backy as an 80s game, but still a good flash back. Thanks for posting!

  • wow, I played this game when I was 6, I barely understand english and with this game I learned it =)

  • I love this game! Brings back memories.

:3 I used to be scared of it.

  • Brings me back. Used to love this game but the intro always creeped me out.

  • I could beat every layer of the world except for the second-the land right before Escarpa. (That was it's name, right? )

  • Classic, we need more games like this. Brings back memories. Music reminds me of Twin Peaks.

  • I was playing this game when I was 5 years old.

Is it posible to play this game on Windows Vista (32) ? I have this game on CD...

  • @MistrzLester Yes it is, but it takes some work. You will need dosBox. Its a great emulator program. go to sierrahelp(dot)com/Games/TorinsPassageHelp(dot)html and click on the link that says dosbox installer. It will get it running for you. As for running it in Win95 compatibility, I have no clue

  • Ohh god. Use to play this when I was 6.

I really wanna play it again.

Kinda like "Secreat of Monkey Island." Also another fav =D

  • Does it works on Windows XP? Please tell me it does, it's been only 4 years and i really miss this kind of game.

  • Ack, I remember this game! YEARS ago my library had it and I rented it like CRAZY. I was hellbent on beating it. Thanks for uploading this, it brings me back.

  • I havnt played this game in forever!!!! I loved this game as a kid and on my new computor it wont play this game </3

  • OMG I've been looking for this game forever! I just found the title...thanks for posting!!! :D

  • Of all games to not have a sequel...darn :(

  • I played this when I was 6!!! And I remember I would ALWAYS get stuck outside of Lycencia's door and not know how to get in without getting eaten! lol :P I miss this game sooo much!

  • The introduction video used to give me nightmares when I was a kid!

  • I LOVE THIS GAME! and i lost the CD :( this is one of the best games ever made in my opinion.

  • i love this game so much too. i still have my cd for it but i can never get it to upload so i may as well have lost it too =[

  • Anyone have a link where i could download the full version?

    I MISS this game

  • Well, well. Haven't play this. Will definitely give it a go. Love Retro games and especially Point&Click adventures. Lovely graphics and as I've read - great story. :)

  • this game used to give me nightmares lol

  • Man I miss games like these. My dad and I would play this together. Good Times!! Man the opening scenes would scare me a little everytime i would play it. Especially when the flying snakes come out of the thing. The music freaked me out a little too. I still have this awesome game. Lol.

  • This memories... This is madness!!

I agree, it scared the crap outta me too. Back in days

  • where can i find this magnific game?

  • I remember playing this, I tried to find it for years and years in my house but I never could.

  • This game made up so much of my childhood. My dad and I would play it for hours. :)

  • For some reason this game scared the crap outta me when I was like 6....

  • ahh good memories of old games.

  • this game isnt able to play on newer computers right?

  • i was wondering the same thing. im about put it on my system, and i dont want it to ruin it lol

  • Yes, sadly our newer and faster technology doesn't take old favorites like this into account. Often they get left by the wayside as "obsolete" and nostalgia be damned.

Your best bet is to get an old computer from a second hand store and use it JUST to play old games like this. Don't even hook it up to the internet, just use it to play games that you might classify as "An oldie, but a goodie."

  • right..i have it..but it wont let me play it

  • Ah...memories... thanks! 5 stars, fav. and subscribed!

  • Thanks! I'll have another playthrough up soon.

  • @parasaurolophus17 I miss this game. I played it 15 years ago and absolutely loved it. I still remembered those dopey worms you had to catch on the leaf.

  • this game has been out of my mind for a long long time. I'm 20, and I think I wasn't older than 10 when I played it. seeing this brings back memories.

the game is cheap on eBay, I will very probably buy one :)

  • ... My name is Torin. AND ITS PRONOUNCED THE SAME WAY. Wow. I never even heard of this game.

  • many memories when i was 5 yrs old played this game, my 1st game... so great!!

  • OMG memories.... especially when the music starts at 4:43.... THAT MUSIC.....I REMEMBERZ IT even though I haven't heard it in 11 years!

  • Comment removed

  • This game is meant to be for little kids... I was 6 when I played this game. I remember a part where little things ate you up and left your skelleton.. Traumatized me

  • OMG! i used to play this game when i was sooo young! i've missed it soo much!! does anybody knows where is save to download this game? and maybe other Sierra games?? pleeease any help would be great!

  • Hahahaha. "Heroes don't run errands." The poor fool.

  • XD man I wanna play it!

  • i have this game. it was so awesome when i played it as a kid so many years ago.

  • force her to release my parents..... sounds wrong and i can't figure out why. mostly the force to realease part

  • I laughed with the CRAP part in every window! You should add an "O face"

  • i love this game:) and you're commentary is extremely funny

  • Thanks; I appreciate the comment.

  • @fuzzymonkey41 You know if I would have came across your Playthrough earlier I could have saved the money I paid and refund money trouble on Amazon for this game. As great as Al Lowe is this game bored me to tears, the jokes blew and the interface is broken. I think I had more fun and laughs playing Toonstruck than this game. How appropriate the game's initials are TP now what other thing I know that is TP it in the bathroom I know it. I really wanted to like this game but I can't.

  • lol my name is Torin

  • I wish I could turn into a box! It would make life fun!

  • Holy Smoly! MINE TOO!

  • Same here.

  • Comment removed

  • lmfao my cousin's name is torin!!!

  • This game is fucking awesome thanks for the post

  • i so love this game and did finish it millions of times too... i still have the original cd but it wont run anymore since this game plays on MS-DOS... huhuhuhu! our computer has really high speed now, not compatible with this game.. anyone can help me how to run this? my brother who's an expert with computers is not here in the country... cant install cant play torin's passage and i really play this game again...even though im already 25...

  • get a program called DosWin

it can run DOS in Wndows, kinda like an emulator ^^

I tired it to run Freddy Pharkas and Leisure Suit Larry, and it works perfeclty , I bet ti will work for Torin's passge :)

  • thanks so much.. will ask my brother that, we might have that program here but if not then might as well buy one.. thanks a lot.. much appreciated

  • no problem ^^

hope it helps for you :)

  • old stuff

  • "I'm sure you will"

  • lol this is just funny to watch for me bcus my best frends name is torin so its just hillarious to me

  • I didn't even know people actually named their children that. Wow.

  • ya its a very rare name. its cool tho its irish and it means chief

  • hey i have this game but it wont play on my computer. i think its because the computer is so new. what can i do

  • @fuzzymonkey41

my son is Named Torin. We're Irish. He is just the right age now to really enjoy this game!

  • thanks you!!!this is the best game that i ever played!!i played it when i only was 5 years old!!!and it finished it millions of times!!!

do you know where i can download it??

  • I'm not sure that this is abandonware quite yet...but it's getting there. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about games that are in that awkward phase (hard to find and not abandonware yet). When I e-mailed Al Lowe about Torin's Passage, he said he wanted to put it up on his site, but I think Vivendi may still own the rights to this game. :(

  • and can you upload a copy of your game on internet??in rapidshare megaupload o mediafire

  • Don't think so; sorry. I'm sure there are sites where you can get the game, but I don't really want to become involved in hosting games that haven't hit abandonware status yet.

    Sorry!

  • theres no problem man,i understand you!!!

and there aarent any page where i can download it,i searched and nothing, only torrents, which i hate but no problem man!i see how to get it!!thanks alot, and sorry for my bad english

  • same here bro i played this with my older brother and some other friends back in the hood when i was way younger its great to watch this game again xD

  • Awesome... I still have my game CD's. No way to play on an XP platform right? I guess if I revived an old Win'9x system???

  • hey good upload, brings me back - funny side notes too.

  • Thanks; I just wish the video quality were a bit better.

  • oh man i had this game before, ahh memories... Tonnstruck kicked ass too.

  • I cried, I literally cried. What has this world come to? No more games like this?

  • best game ever, too bad sierra no longer makes games...

  • love it love it love it...playin' this game is one of tha few times me n my dad even came close to each other back in tha day! 5*****

  • Thanks SO much for this!! One of my favorite adventure games as a kid :)

  • You're welcome; I hope it brings back some good memories for you.

  • one of the most awesome games I ever played

  • I really liked the captions throughout the playthrough. I'm actually a big fan of playthroughs, but I admit that without some outside personality, they can get pretty bland.

  • I think you'll really enjoy my next playthrough, then, if you enjoyed the captions through this playthrough.

    Stay tuned this weekend...

  • look at her face at 2:36

  • Wow. I remember playing this game back when I was a young'un. Good times, good game. Thanks for the upload!

  • 'Yes, you can never tell with fire. It's temperature can be unpredictable.'

Are you by chance a fan of MST3K? That sounds a lot like a Crow line XD

Good annotations, and thanks for uploading!

  • You know, it's funny you should ask that since one of my best friends insists that I should watch that show. I'm fairly sure that I would enjoy it.

And I'm glad you enjoy the comments; some people weren't so happy about them (see below...).

  • I noticed, but I thought it was a creative idea!

There's quite a few MST3K episodes to see on Youtube.

  • remove those words it ruins a good game

  • You can toggle the annotations on/off by hitting the button in the lower right-hand corner of the Youtube screen.

One of the reasons I included annotations was to add another reason for watching the video; if all you want is the straight game without any words, then you should probably just play through your own copy of the game.

  • where exactly is this button out of curi ?

  • It's a rectangular button with an arrow pointing up inside of it. It's on the same row as the button that controls the video's volume.

  • Awesome :)

  • That game was cool when I first played it. Came free with my new computer back in the day.

  • same for me. came with my first computer, an old IBM aptiva.

  • Yeah IBM Aptiva with the Aptive song into all pretty like

  • wow he has a really stupid walk. >.>

  • the vilain looks like the grinch in some area's

  • Where can I buy this?!

I miss this game so much!

  • "Uh, I thought I'd do that... tomorrow!"

If I played this game as a kid, I would have used that line on my parents all the time.

  • I feel like I just got kicked in the teeth by nostalgia.

  • Al Lowe can do Family Friendly, I mean sure he's famous for Larry, but he also did Donald Ducks Playground.

I honestly wanted to play this the second I heard about it having a character like Boogle. We need more generic transforming sidekicks in videogames. :D

  • Oh, I know he can do family friendly; he's great at both. On the back of Torin's Passage (the box), he has disclaimers saying this is NOT like Leisure Suit Larry. :D

Freddy Pharkas is also not as graphic as Larry is (and even then, Larry is all in good fun).

  • i love this game. i lost it for a few years, and recently found it in a cd case. i wish it still worked.

  • Torin's Passage is actually one of the less temperamental old games out there and shouldn't be too hard to get work in either windows or dos. Google Torin's Passage with troubleshooting, and you'll find some helpful sites.

  • no shit?

  • Know where I can get this game? it looks pretty interesting...and boogle looks funny

  • I REMEMBER THIS GAME!!! YAY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!!! My fav. Character was Boogle XDD

  • LMAO!! Sadist and lazy too... This was an hillarious game too...i had fun with it when I was younger.

  • This is REAL nostalgic for me to watch. I think I was 8 years old when i played through the game with my older brother. Thanks for uploading.

  • Cant you like upload the game so i can download it?? :D

  • I actually can't do that; I don't own the rights to the game, and I already exchanged e-mails with Al Lowe (the designer of the game) about this series of videos. He was fine with me doing the videos, but I think he will be the one to put up the game once he feels it's ready.

  • dude, i remember this game. i love how in most sierra games the continue button says "Oops".
