Well, if you watch people doing the charleston, and the swing, and the bunny-hop, and the rock and roll, those were pretty wild dances too. So what's wrong with the twist? No one is "touching" no one.

Eisenhower was a wishy-washy president who spent too much time playing golf with his WW2 buddies and not minding his REAL business. Because of his lack of balls we ended up with Castro in Cuba and the fucking Soviets doing whatever they wanted. And then there was JFK...OH, LORD!
