I am awestruck, not by Gareth's ventriloquism, but by his singing! If he can't make it as a ventriloquist he really should take a stab at singing because he's quite good. And who else can sing in the higher register (near the end) with clenched teeth or a closed mouth? Very impressive!

@madperson876 The puppet is a caricature of an actual operatic tenor named Pavarotti. Hence the puppet's name, "Pava Potts". Of course the last name is a tribute to Paul Potts, who sung Pavarotti's signature aria Nessun Dorma to acclaim.

And I gotta say, the dabbing of the forehead with the white handkerchief is hysterical because the real Pavarotti actually did that!

Anyone here saying he's opening his mouth when the tissue is in front of him is just an idiot. There are mutliple cameras on the show, and people from all directions. Besides, when he's singing at his loudest, you see from the side closer cam shots that he's NOT opening his mouth! So praise him ,or if not, write constructive critism, ok.
