There is proper zombies and fuck loads of them!!

Also there is a few new mutants (as well as guns) which are pretty creepy.

It may not be scary, but it's creepy as hell. I've played the game two times over and even now it makes me jump.

Bloodsucker. Just remember to use your nightvision. It helps you see them. Also for every mutant check for white eyes in the dark.

A very interesting german name. It means "Noisy Ghost" or "Adruptive Entity". A term coined for the manifestation of kinetic energies moving objects as if a human being were to be doing so. The Poltergeist, in it's original meaning, was known for throwing objects, slamming windows and doors, and causing an absolute ruckus around an area, proving to be rather bothersome. But not considered to be dangerous.
