@InterestingPose you shouldent be so quick to insault music that you do no not understand. hate when people are closed minded about music. drone/sound music is not about trying to listen to some repeating melody, its all about the atmosphere the music creates.
you know what i like about noise? the feeling that no sound can be too abrasive. when you are able to handle THIS, you'll listen to other stuff and be like "have i been deaf all this fucking time?!?!111". then, you'll probably start hearing AWESOME shit you've never heard before in songs you might have heard even a thousand times. it's like a whole new dimension of sound that opens its door to you, and IF you discover it, you would be a fool to choose not to explore it.
@BrutalPodSmoker merzbow loops sound samples on his laptop(s), then runs through a huge distortion deck, and voila. the original source can be just about anything (he's made albums from frog croaks, gunshots, birds singing, etc.) but he also plays drums on some of his albums, so it's not always just harsh layers of layers of harsh (check Yurikamome on filestube). his collabs are even better, Rock Dream is probably the best one ever and not too harsh, do check it out.
@BrutalPodSmoker i believe the artists usually use an audio mixer,a few guitar pedals, pile abunch of effects onto eachother, and add alot of distortion and feedback.
@schizma111 Agreed. It is something I'm figuring out just recently. It gives you a real beauty in the world around you, listen to something loud and painful, but beautiful in its distrurbing, extreme way.
@BrutalPodSmoker Give it time.. persist,, the 'noise' will eventually render you transcendent. Tty some of Astro's work - just beautiful; then, then you must bathe in Killer Bug; MSBR; CCCC.. and a hundred others.
yeah yeah yeahs. in leisure times i made similar stuffs like my subtron or little bit (on ending) ad stacex pikus. but NOW this MUSIC mekes me happy. i adore .....................and its good for my f20:) .............and yes ---meat is murder!---
Yeah! Of course we can't compare Merzbow to ...... I don't know the spelling of these imbeciles! How can you contrast a genius, God of Noise to a low profile, low IQ worthless beings.
Are you serious? I have most of their albums and I don't know what you are talking about.
I can understand how people can think they are corny since they do sort of have a gimmick, but their noise is very similar to Masonna in terms of harshness. Plus their releases span tons of genres including noisecore, harsh noise, punk rock, classical, and even crazy releases such as cut up vinyl records shoved in cassette boxes.
The gerogerigegege are hard to judge by one release. You have to hear all.
Simple. They just played the instruments and stuffs as to what they say" Extreme Level". But they just sounded as imbecile as they look like! Maybe just have an IQ of 10? Look as Merzbow, he maybe look like a loner but HELL to his sound! Its like Armaggedon x Catastrophy x Apocalypse!!!
Merzbow and Masonna are each fantastic for different reasons, but overall Hanatarash takes the prize for my favorite noise act. They've got Merzbow's variety and richness of sound and Masonna's raw, ear-splitting frenzy all in one!
It's hard to say, because each noise artist has their own personality, but I'd say Guilty Connector is definitely up there. If you haven't already check out his Beats, Noise, and Life album, a true noise masterpiece. Merzbow and Masonna are both great too, though, and so are some of the American ones like Nkondi.
Call me a snob but for some reason I much prefer Masonna. I saw Merbow once and was unimpressed. I really now want to see Masonna. Heck yeah!

Merzbow is good, but Masonna does nice screams. At the guy who said about the Gerogerigegege, they're actualy quite good. :x

@schizma111 Wow, i think i can understand it. Its the same way that i like Technical death metal, and others just hear plain noise.
But, how is this music made? i mean, you dont hear any beat or drum patterns. Just static noise usually

Nice video.
Merzbow and Masonna are two completely differnt noise artist.
Whenever Merzbow plays live. He allways seems so calm and down to eart while standing/sitting next to his lap tops.
While Masonna jumps all over the place and nearly kills himself at every show.
Personally, I prefer Masonna. His music moves me more.
