What tuning was this in? I'd really love to do something like this. I'm guessing this was drop D and you had a capo covering the second fret of every string but the E string. So, your tuning would technically EBEAC#E, right?
Seriously who are the two people that didn't like this??? I am considering buying this guitar, thanks for showing it off. I wish I could find someone strumming it too so I could hear how it sounds strummed. Awesome job!
@UFOIST Though the Taylor Expression system is great for live performance, I feel it is too dry sounding for recording purposes. (Though it can be blended with a condenser to give different sounds.) Even though I was using an SM58, I still feel the "room" was better captured using an external microphone.
Nowadays, I would have used my SM27, a GREAT condenser mic. Sounds MUCH better for recording vocals/guitar. Check out my version of "Ave Maria" to hear the difference.
@UFOIST Pick ups only pick up the vibration, whereas a microphone picks up a lot more. In real studios, you never use a pick up to record acoustic guitar. Love the playing man!
well now that is really quite something to behold, bravo that man, I like the Hendrix picture behind you as well, class. Not only fantastic guitar playing but fantastic sound as well
man, you do a Taylor justice. i hate seeing such beautiful, grand guitars banged on and unappreciated by alot of these guys on youtube. i love this video man. and GREAT song.
wow man im speechless, that was amazing =o for a moment i thot i was listening to another one of those candyrat vids with all the gifted acoustic players and what not but damn dude, you got it goin, keep it up
As far as I can tell, it's drop D. It's kind of surprising to me, because I'm not usually a big fan of drop D songs.
I'm loving this tune, and it makes me sad that I always play in DADGAD. I'm paranoid about tuning that first string up to E. I'm always sure it will break.
thank you, are you using something else to record your guitars? apart from the TASCAM US-122 and the SM57? because you really get nice recording quality, considering is a "home studio"
good work there the only thing i could find wrong was that for the first 30 seconds you were looking at your picking hand which is bad practice. Apart from that everything else was good.
Just a heads up: the video seems to be having playback problems!

Very good indeed but why use a mic when the guitar has it's own integral pick up?

I appreciate that. The song belongs to my old teacher, and good friend Steve DeVries. Check him out when you have time. He plays beautifully.

hey dude, what are you using to record your guitar? are you using any audio interface ? please tell me, you seem to get really nice record quality.

I'm using a Tascam US-122. (The old one that freaks out with Vista.)
If I were you, i would get the new one. Goto the Tascam site and look at the Tascam US-122 (add a letter here. forgot what it was, maybe "s").
Hope that helps!

I like to combo of styles (Nuno and Rockn' Blues). By all means continue on that road, only great music will come of it.
CHEERS!!!! Great job.
