I think I saw at least one of those yuppies today in Marfa, yeah, the town's got yuppies, saw them on my 2nd visit to Marfa (10-8-11) , first time I drove from El Paso to Marfa was Valentine's Day Eve (2-13-10).
my grandpa was born in austin texas the hill country and was excited to find this since i was raised outside the state in new mexico and colorado and californian. i moved from cali and now i find i am not welcome here or anywhere n texas. i am 61 and suppose to be die and rock in my rocking chair. my grandpa drove until he was 95. omg....coming from a Californian then this is wierd. is it really wierd
For me, I couldn't ever live in Marfa. Ever. My dad is from there, and I'm related to the whole damn town. (Except of course these college age people.) I've been there a million times and seriously, there's nothing. NOTHING.
wow, y'all came from the east coast just to visit Marfa? I only came from El Paso, Texas and the damn border patrol agents assume i'm weird for going to Marfa? It's only about a 3 hour drive.
Marfa, only 190 miles from El Paso, uh I drove over there in a rental car just a month ago the day before valentine's day , and on my way I passed through a town (Valentine) I drove to Marfa just for that. I took pictures of mainly highway signs, speed limit signs,(I recommend it) US 90 is 75 mph east and west of Marfa. Also citiy limit signs, county line signs, and even railroad mile markers.
