In response to your question, I highly recommend that you visit my website and check out my Spanish Pronunciation Course which has 60 lessons that carefully explain and demonstrate all of the most important pronunciation skills.
My English husband has been living here in Spain for some time and speaks pretty well, but still has big problems with the masculine and feminine endings. The informal and formal is equally strange and a challenge to get your head around. HOWEVER I have to point out that English also has it's challenges!! Maybe English is a bit easier to get started with, but I believe it is harder to master to an advanced level than Spanish.
English pronunciation is extremely tricky for Spanish speakers as there are far fewer clear rules than with Spanish. Take also reading, in Spanish even a complete beginner can read out loud correctly once they have learned the basic sounds of each letter as Spanish is a phonetic language. Unlike with English, where you have to learn and remember each and every piece of vocabulary as there are so many minefields out there to trip you up and make you sound silly.
Learning a language takes a lot of time and patience to get into the finer details and really get a feel for it. The key is to enjoy the process and practice every day. I try to make my blog as useful as possible for people like you.
I post a free lesson daily there and all of my past video lessons are available, with clear written lesson notes to accompany the videos.
My other courses include a complete beginners (127 lessons) course and a complete intermediate (143 lessons) course.
I suggest that as a first step you start from the beginning of one of these courses, depending on whether or not you have any prior knowledge of Spanish.
On the blog you can also download the courses as mp3s and find Spanish recipes, Spanish city guides and features on Spanish history, music & TV. There are many opportunities here to practice your listening skills.
I recommend that you get one of my mp3 courses so that you can be listening and studying wherever you may be via your mp3 player, phone, car stereo or pc.
If you are interested you will also find details of the live online Spanish lessons I offer via Skype and my online classroom. In these classes you will have every opportunity to practice you conversation skills.
I wish you all the very best with your Spanish and a lovely day.
But can I just say GODDAM why do other languages have to be so f**king complicated? I really envy people learning English as a foreign language, it's so dam easy, we don't have any accents on words, we don't have feminine/masculine words, we don't really have a formal AND informal way of saying every dam sentance.
It's like evry language I try to learn is making it as complicated as f**king possible! And Spanish is one of the easier ones apparently! God help me!
@JackRabbitSlim yea but think of it if people have to learn english they come from a place where to them there language is easy and every other language GODDAM why do languages have to be fucking compicated
@JackRabbitSlim yea but to them it would be hard cause if they have to learn english it be hard for them cause whatever language they grew up in was normal way to speak so english would be hard dont envy them
India is the same in Spanish, India or La India. If you wish to say that you are from India you can "soy de la India" and if you wish to say that you are Indian, "soy indio/india"
Soy Eslovaca! I´m Slovakian (gir)l, is it right ? :)

Her accent is from Spain. They have the best pronounciation. They don't meke spelling mistakes because the prounounce z,c and s in diferent way. We, latinamerican, pronounce those letter like "s"
The best thing to do is watch my videos in my blog where you will find written notes to accompany each video. These are a great help and you shouldn't have to write anything down once you have the notes in front of you to refer to during the videos.
Americano and americana are used for people from whole American continent, for the United States we use, "estadounidense" (this adjective doesn´t have sex, it ends in "e").

@rsacode Maybe, as all the people , you're own language seems to be easy to learn, but I've to recognize that Spanish is not easy, such as French, because of verbs in huge measure.
In Spain we don't use "vos". We use "tu" or "usted" depending on the situation: informal or formal. When you don't really know the person or you are talking with an older person it is usual to use "usted". When speaking to children and young people we use "tu".

I am from Spain and so I speak and teach Spanish from Spain, but really there is little difference apart from the accent and some vocabulary. Both parties can understand each other perfectly.
