There is no way an Intel CPU of that or ANY generation ran that cool even in idle with a proper heatsink and fan put on it! No way it stayed that cool without the heatsink on it.
it's really ridiculous how anyone can be a "amd fanboy" or "intel fanboy", like you actually played any part in developing the hardware at all. I used to by AMDs back in the day and now I buy intel, if intel falls behind and AMD becomes more effective, I'd switch without thinking twice.
Stop being a fanboy and worshipping these brands like a groupie. Be more pragmatic and put your needs first.
the results dont surprise me, those are old CPUs, i remember having an amd @800Mhz and i was running it with a cooler that these days you cannot find (it was small) in the end it gave up on me..i dont know why, maybe the cooler broke xD
@MrVijfhoek it does because when the processor gets too hot it starts declocking, and declocking until eventually it shuts it down. amd didn't have the tech on those processors hense the reason they melted, and the processor it'self doesn't know if the heat sink is on it just notices that its not hot anymore and begins resuming normal clock rates increasing in incriments, and the processor doesn't ACTUALLY shut down but it declocks so far that it may as well have.
@101ado I believe the AMD cpu did have some heat protection. But not designed for that kind of abuse. I remember my Athlon(older then this one) crawling when the fan stop working, and it certainly did not go in smoke...
On either cpu, removing the heat sink while running will void the warranty. Intel just went a step further by protecting itself from idiots that fail to properly install the cooler.
@dragonx20091 i have a AMD duron.but now intel i3.so would not say that i hate AMD if i had a new AMD cpu.but my friends said that they changed computers 2-3 times because there PC would not bootup.there cpu where AMD athlon II and phenome 2 x3. so i have a reason to say i hate AMD.
@Nightmare198922 said "Is this a vid trying to prove that AMD processors suck????"
No. It's a video that prove that intel's cpu throttle is an effective protection from cooler failure and hypothetical idiot users that would swap heat sink while running. Fuck off!
@newtubetubetube Yeah I couldn't do more than agree with you man , I swapped cooler from my gaming machine a noctua and the temperatures dropped like 30 celsius and the performance... well were not going to talk much about that but it got like 10 times faster , but it still sucks L0L ;D
@cbproductionsradio It was a gigabyte motherboard. but I was looking on the cooler and there was an 80mm delta. explains the temperatures I was getting hahah. my 9600gt hit 105C on crisis. I'm glad I don't abuse my hardware as much as I did when I was younger.

It seems to lack in quality but is engineered toward gaming non the less. my advice? don't run games without a cooler and both will work admirably -_- great video though
@MatthewTelles room temperature is 20C. Your motherboard's temperature sensors are wrong. Although all of my computers are Intel (using the i5-2500k overclocked to 4.5ghz @ 1.28V stable right now lol)
@32undefined32 yea I removed the heatsink and it was warm to the touch but definitely not hot. it heated up extremely fast tho. it had a cooler with a massive fan stuck in an antec900. heat was not an issue. it was the loudest fan in the computer when the cpu fan spun up
@FRURMELLL Hell, I forgot to plug my laptop CPU in after cleaning out the heatsink fan and nearly killed it. CPU-Z & BIOS reported temps of at least 96 degrees celsius. That is 206.6 degrees Fahrenheit my friend. Processor - AMD Sempron 2200+ 2.2GHz. Overclocking would be too much of a chore to the average Toshiba user, so they disabled every attempt at it.

wow, Intel is still my favorite processor, currently using a Celeron D with the cooler not floating, not tied down because i don't have case for computer yet. still runs hot 60c because its not down all the way and not too much thermal grease yet and it runs fine. One time though my cooler slid off and the processor hit 90c what did it do? turned itself off! i think its the motherboard that saved it though because upon powering it back up it made ambulance noises.
@racedriver52 yeah imagine you tweak some stuff inside your pc, accidentaly jam your fan or break it or w/e and don't notice it doesn't spin (because it's usually dead silent anyway)

@foobarturkey AMD is also not even close to where intel is as far as speed.. Look at the 980x i7 Pretty much puts amd to shame in every way... more than 2 fold.. AMD does have the best price performance ratio though.. but they are by far not the fastest :)
