  • U NEED INSPIRATION????JUST WATCH 1.53!!!!!!

  • I need to find a girl like that, with all due =respect they are EXTREMLY beautiful and can tag along for a training ride :D

  • One week to go until Ironman Canada!

  • R E S P E C T . . .

  • unbelievable!!!! respect for all who finish something like this!! what she did is more like incredibly awesome!!!!! For the past couple months Ive been training intensely for a half IM next week, but im so scared that I may not make it…… any last minute advice?? Last week I saw a new movie, “Discover the Gift”, which talks about being true to yourself and do whatever you do best giving 100% all the time. I loved it! facebook. com/discoverthegift

  • This video is making me want to train like a beast and start competing...this is better than any pep talk from any coach......!!!

  • @daveisatrini It's the music haha :P

  • It's not about winning or losing it's about competing. The only person you're in a race with is yourself. I'm a 2x Iron Man and I'm proud to say that.

  • You must be one lazy son of a fat bitch, cosg9531, go be obese somewhere, and stop commenting on ironman videos that apparently displease in some weird way

  • I will do this around my thirties.

  • @kickmeout1 how very small minded of you.

  • @kickmeout1 what the fuck dude, probally all of the women in this video could kick your ass

  • @kickmeout1 womens marathon best times are about 10 minutes longer than mens best times, it's not that much if you consider that marathon is more than 2 hours. Maybe for you 10 minutes is an eternity since it problably takes u that long to clamber out of a sofa.

  • @kickmeout1 HAHA these women would destroy you in a triathlon and so would I

  • Everytime when i feel down and don't feel like training .... i will check out this video clip .... it helps heaps ;) I will do this

  • I DONT CARE WHAT PLACE YOU FINISH... IF YOU CROSS THAT FINISH LINE YOU WILL HAVE A SMILE IN YOU FACE!!! EAR TO EAR BABY!!!!

  • I DONT CARE WHAT PLACE YOU FINISH... IF YOU CROSS THAT FINISH LINE YOU WILL HAVE A SMILE IN YOU FACE!!! EAR TO EAR BABY!!!!

  • Consider the amount of time required to prepare for this. I would rather use the same amount of time on creative interests.

  • @cosg9531

I have never competed in Ironman and probably never will. But I believe that what these people feel after crossing te finish line is extraordinary sense of self-accomplishment. If you have never experienced anything like this before, then I have to say I pity you.

This is a tribute to human will.

  • @pesky89 Pity yourself, as well, while you're at it; you've never experienced anything like this before, either. By your own admission. Given this, do you see how ridiculously pointless your commentary was?

  • @cosg9531 I was referring to that feeling. I might have never done IM, but that doesn't mean I can't relate - I get my feeling elsewhere. Those people get it from doing IM, and you maybe get it through "creative interests".

What I wanted to say is, if you actually felt this awesome feeling, you probably could relate more, and show more empathy for people who want to reach the same goal, just through different means.

Also you are a faggot because HURR DURR IRONMAN WASTE OF TIME IMA MAKE ORIGAMI!

  • Man i'm 20 years old and still didnt cover the distance of iron man...and that guy 70 years old did it in 7 hours... Our generation is so crap we have to fix it no more youtube no more video games we have to get action;p

  • @wilyoustay yeah because one man is indicative of a whole generation... it's awesome he can do it but one of the morals of the ironman is not to hold yourself above everyone else. Our generation may not be perfect, same as any other. I'm 20, ive covered the distance, not in a world-record time or anything, but I see no reason that I'm BETTER than those who haven't.

  • FIRST ONE NEXT YEAR...........JACKED!

  • To hell with this. I smoke, drink, eat rich foods, and lounge while I watch movies.

  • While competing in this someone would ask me during the marathon "have you hit your breaking point?" My answer would be "I hit my dam breaking point in the swimming, Im running on pure adrenaline now!!!"

  • No soccer, no basketball, no car-racing.

    This Is A Show.

    Enjoy.

  • I think I speak for everybody when I say this, 1:53, WE SALUTE YOU!

  • 1:53, I wanna be that guy when I'm 60!

  • @specialismensmentis That man is well over 60!

  • @specialismensmentis You make it sound like 60 is old. maybe it use to be, but it isn't anymore. I know, because I am 59 next month! :-) I still do this shit on a regular basis.

  • @assmunch1 RESPECT!!

  • i did my first two and a half years ago. twas insane.

  • Yes look at the guy at 1:53 and you will catch a glimpse of how strong your determination must be to complete the task.

What you will never get is how it feels... unless you do it.

So... what are you up to?!

  • One day, I will do this, now i'm still preparing for my first marathon - but it's a long way to the top...

  • this isnt a sport... this is a test for your mind to see how deep you can push

  • Ordinary folks doing extraordinary things..the purpose of my life is to discover my talents; what gives it meaning is when I share those talents..Ironman Florida 2010 is my stage and the whole world's watching!

  • @acguitarte see you there

  • I will do this. It will hurt and I will probably want to quit, but I will still do this.

  • I've watched this video... 100 times... and will do again.

  • !!!.....RESPECT.....!!!/HUN/

  • Thank you uploader

  • Just to qualify for Kona would be a dream ... to cross the finish line - A DREAM COME TRUE! The utmost respect to anyone who has competed in any IM, Kona or elsewhere!

  • That dude at the end should be the inspiration for some fatasses to get off the couch and MOVE...There is no excuse.

  • Ironman- This is definitely a "A Great Video...." For the edge in triathlons and marathons check out this video. RealFitnessWater by GreenfieldNaturals.

  • that old man is a badass

  • 0:28-0:30...a great poster.

  • @ RB902050...

There are those who have gone farther.. There is an event called the DecaIronman.. Its 10 Ironman races in 10 Days i believe.. The winner averaged roughly 10.5hrs I believe. There are also double ironmans that are back to back, the distances are a little different. Something like a 10k swim, not sure about the bike, and a dobule marathon i believe.

  • @1Ironman12 There are 100+ mile runs too. Some of them through the mountains and some of them through the desert. Ironman (140.6 miles) is definitely the most recognized of the ultra distance races...mostly because of corporate branding.

  • This is so inspirirng!

  • haha this music is so fitting for this video.

  • a lot of the iron man vids use the same footage from the 2005 florida iron man

  • 1:53 unbelievable

    HAT OFF !!

  • Holy Shit,

my eyeballs grew two sizes at 1:53

    RESPECT

  • @Cornampoo I definitely talked to this guy during the Louisville Ironman this past August. He was running his 36TH! Ironman.

  • @Cornampoo I remember that guy at the Louisville Ironman also. So I assume he has been at this for awhile.

  • Wow!! I definitely met the guy at the very end of this video at Ironman Louisville. This guy has finished 36 Ironmans!

  • lol 2.6 swim 112 bike 26.2 miles

Its my goal to reach this!

  • I believe it's 2.4 mile swim

  • yea but I swim an extra .2 miles extra b/c I'm awesome ....

  • lol, u can train all u want, nothing, will prepare u 4 this, strong head, and one mother f**king load of water/ engery drinks will get u about 50% of the way, the last 50% u need a crap load of will power. Only problem is after u have done this nothing else fires up

  • YeaI can only Imagine, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the event and all who hae attempted/completed it.

  • i sorta did it once, got half way through the cycling and quit, 2 much

  • prepair to be owned by your self

  • I will not let myself overcome what i want to do, i will only do what i know i can do.. i know i can do an IRONMAN and I WILL complete it.

  • You should finish it.

  • Song Name Please

  • A Call To Arms from Immediate Music....it's listed in the description of the video.

  • I want to do this!

  • Its easy:

Swim Bike Run Eat Sleep - REPEAT!

and one day...you´ll make it !

  • agreed to some extent,

except your use of "easy" .. an ironman isen't "easy"

    nor is the training easy.

However, i believe the term to be used would be Simple :P

The training is rather simple in its form,

Swim - Bike Run Eat Sleep

    - if it were easy, they'd call it football (;<3

  • :-) or soccer :-)

  • haha, so true ;-)

  • then DO it!

  • Do it. If I can, you can.

  • i love triathlons and i actually train for them i think i'm going to regonals this year and hopefully nationals but sometimes i just don't findany inspiration, i sometimes just wanna quit but i can't imagine my life with out it any ideas to keep me motivated?

  • I actually watch this video every time before I train to remind me of why I'm doing this. I'd put this song on my iPod, but I have no idea where to find it.

  • it's always one of three ways that keeps me going when i wanna quit and have a hard time keeping myself motivated...i ask myself how i'd feel skipping a workout, the answer is usually worse than i do at the moment of asking. the second, is i just get going, and the motivation follows. Even watching videos like this one to get me up and off the couch. I once read that motivating ourselves is like cleaning ourselves, it gets the best results when done daily.

  • I use this video to motivate me, it's currently midnight where I am, and all I want to do is go run a triathlon as it is.

  • I know how you feel...I'd exercise 24/7 if i could

  • 3 hardest sports in my oppion of all time :)

  • 1:47 Normann Stadler in 2003 finishing 4th

  • chris mccormack at 1:34 wearing 59 in the back ground,

  • oh yeah

  • You just do what you can to cross that finish line.

  • this is amazing! i mean what u guys do...i love sports and i would love to do this...do you train by yourselves or have any special training? thanks!

  • there are a lot of training centers all over the world for triathetes. start with a shorter triathlon and build your way up to ironman. set your mind and your wallet to it and you'll make it.

  • Both.

  • They train them selves, and u can do it, its not hard(the sport). Running is a natural, biking is all about balance, and all u need is swimming lessons. The sport its self isnt hard, like hockey lets say where u need years on ice just to play in house league. To get to Ironman, that needs training so with training u can also one day be there. Start out easy and improve.

  • what a great last clip

  • This video and Spirit of Titans are my 2 favorites.I hope I can keep doing Ironman triathlons for long long time.........greetings to all fellow triathletes.

  • If you can do 1, you are by far one of the most incredibly determined and strong people in the world. I've only started training for my first, and I'm fascinated at how people do it.

  • I actually did one this last saturday and boy!!!!! I'm still in bed recovering hahahaha I'm taking the week off to relax and then bachk to training, thanks for your comment and good luck in your triathlon, let me know if you have questions that could help you with yours

  • Anyone know where I can get this song? I've Googled, checked iTunes, and other sites.

  • BRUTAL! AMAZING SPORT WE HAVE HERE!

  • does anyone know the name of the song in this clip?

    Thanks

  • It's in the description.

  • does anybody have this video in hq for download? i need it for a project in highschool... greeting from germany

  • What drives people to do this? Are they changed after it? How are they changed from it?

  • Wish I could do an Iron Man, if only just once..

It is a true testament to the spirit

  • wish? you have some medical condition stopping you?

  • Your right... : )

How would one train (I'm guessing it takes loads of planning) for a feat like this.

I haven't got the first clue...

When did you do it and how did you train for it ?

  • I've done 2 IronMan, 2 half Ironman and many sprints, when I see videos like this I just want to keep going, I wish I could afford not working and just do triathlons haha, but I have to work , oh well

  • The greatest people!

  • Wow, that was an amazing video!!!

  • I'm running my first triathlon in 3 hours, this was good motivation.

  • how did it go?

  • 5 star, beautiful.

  • badass

  • WAOH! THX 4 Motivating me :P

  • die letzten zwei, geben mir den rest!

    5 Sterne

  • pretty nice. love this song too.

  • Triathlon, der beste Sport den es gibt!!

Geile Bilder, ein sehr gutes und gelungenes Video!

  • Well... That stuff help them survive until the finish...

  • Do any of these ppl drink pedialite? why are they all drinking gatorade that stuff is trash.

  • matter of Opinion lol. They wouldnt be drinking it if it didnt work. Unless of course Gatorade was one of their sponsors. But haha. they wouldnt drink it if it didnt work

  • also, gatorade sponsors the race, and it's hard to carry 4-7 hours of calories on the bike, so they hand it out at aid stations. free drink, major product exposure.

  • I only do olympic triathlons but everyone I know drinks mixtures of stuff. I stick about 5 different things in my "juice."

  • me encanta el triatlon

  • Triathlon in seiner reinsten form

und die richtige Stimmung macht die Musik auch!!!

    lg

    Manu

  • Love this video, did my first tri last sept. Shoot for two in 2009. This will be the last thing I see before I leave for the race.

  • good luck man more power to ya

  • I hope that I will make an Ironman in 3 years

I've already finished a short distance (1,5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km running), and this was my first "season" :-)

My father and me we will try to do a Ironman-relay 2010, we are just searching someone for the biking discipline in our circle of friends :-)

  • Which are you? the runner or the swimmer?

  • one of my favourite videos on youtube. brilliant. i watch it ahead of any triathlon i do

  • i wanted so much to do this...but hey it'll probably take me more than a year training. coz i need to lose weight... im 103.6kg rite now. so i probably need to go down as much as 70.2kg...

    any tips ???

  • youll need a year if you dont have to hold down a job, if your working aswell youll need about double. and the weight depends on how tall you are. i really want to do this aswell :) training already and im only 16

  • yeah ...that i have to agree ..damn... im working and schooling at the same time, prolly i need 2-3 years before my first ironman and in between i'll take up my first half iron.

  • I want to do an Ironman so bad. I have found though that the registration for one cost a lot so that is going to be a bigger hurdle than training.

  • you can do anything and everything

  • im not that dedicated. ill probaply run the marathon. i think ill b dedicated to that. lol. maybe. who knows. ill sleep on it. dont want to lose muscle running

  • i dont think i could ever do it even if i was in the best shape in my life. i think il dehydrate becausei sweat easy and i sweat alot. when i work out easy 2-3 shirts covered with sweat

  • Most humans are able to. You need to be very fit, be motivated and have the IronWill

Someday when im old enough i'll give this a shot

  • you dont have to wait too much time im 17 years old and i expect to do mi first half iron man in 3 years and mi first ironman in 8 or 7 you can do it if you want (sorry if my english is bad)

  • dont tell me what to do. i work out and run but just sweat to easy off anything. think its in my genes. but your FATASS friend is Still a FATASS friend.

  • probally got mild hyper tyroideism, ive got it aswell, do you sweat alot dont put weight on very easy at all?

  • well i stay the same weight even if i eat alot and stuff. i ran 6 miles straight one day and the 2 shirts i was wearing were soaked wet. i dont really care about it though.?? put im not skinny im 160

  • running 6 miles im not suprised most people would, and is that 160kg? and how tall are you? im 72 and im 6tf 4 so about 1.9 meters.

  • 160lb. about 5ft 10-11. ima try to get in shape for a marathon. but these people run like 30 miles before a drop of sweat hits the floor. haha

  • ohh in lb so you weigh the same as me. slight exageration but i know what you mean, there there really fit. but thats not enough they have hellish mental endurance.

  • When I started training for my ironman my coach said Id loose weight...bah humbug I weighed more at the end of the IM than before I started......but I felt better even with the remaining "handle bars" in tact. Maybe next time...

  • in kona i saw an 80 year old man fly past a super healthy looking 30 year old who was crawling towards the finish line. Then I saw a man missing a leg with a spring paddle attachment beat that same old man.. definitly broke my preconceptions..

  • One day, I want to be an Iron Man. If you can have the mental strength to not only accomplish that but train for it, you can accomplish anything in life. I want to do it for every person out there who cant do it. I want to do it for everyone who has AIDS or Cancer. I want to show them if a kid like me can do it, they can beat their illness.

  • thats good motivation for me, i wanna do it but i always thought of it as a personal goal, not for others, thanks

  • respect respect

  • Triatlon is the nicest sport in the world.

    respect these true athletes, TRIathletes

  • 2.4 miles swim,112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run. Thats the full Ironman but there is also the 70.3 mile Ironman series.

  • my cousin take part in this year iron man contest in nice! XDXD ....he's soooo freaking crazy but we all really proud of him! 5km sweeming,180 km bike and 42 km run /sorry i don't know how is that in miles/ but oh wow for all these people all over the world that make such a great effort! iron men for real!

  • yes, true iron men, the greatest human body accomplishment ive know so far...i think the swimming is 2.1 mi, the biking is 114 mi, and the run is 26.2 mi, aka a marathon

  • something like this yes. i know that there is different stages the last one was with smaller distance than this one in nice:) i really hope to see some video of it soon:)

  • Check out the double Badwater Ultramarathon race. Two 137 mile runs back to back in Death VALLEY! Or adventure races that are days or weeks long. Or Navy SEALs Hell Week. Those are all greater achievements but Ironman is still badass.

  • one hundred and thirty seven?! is that right? i know about the seals, thats very impressive too, lol, i always thought that regular military men were in that kinda mental and physical shape, but now that they've set back on their requirements theres fat soldiers

  • when is the triathalon this year? its gotta be comin up soon right

  • September or October?

  • IS IM HEALTHY???

  • nice video!!

  • i am 13 and i placed 200th over all for the arizona one last year is that it??

  • sorry, nope. I think it is 2003 Hawaii.

  • thank you though keep posting ironman stuff up its good
