HAHA Y DO WOMEN EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS THEY R SO MUCH SHITTER THAN MEN LOL!! THE ONLY REASON THEY LET WOMEN COMPETE IS SO THEY CAN GET THEIR TITS AND ASS ON DISPLAY FOR THE MEN LOl!!!
@kickmeout1 womens marathon best times are about 10 minutes longer than mens best times, it's not that much if you consider that marathon is more than 2 hours. Maybe for you 10 minutes is an eternity since it problably takes u that long to clamber out of a sofa.
I have never competed in Ironman and probably never will. But I believe that what these people feel after crossing te finish line is extraordinary sense of self-accomplishment. If you have never experienced anything like this before, then I have to say I pity you.
@pesky89 Pity yourself, as well, while you're at it; you've never experienced anything like this before, either. By your own admission. Given this, do you see how ridiculously pointless your commentary was?
@cosg9531 I was referring to that feeling. I might have never done IM, but that doesn't mean I can't relate - I get my feeling elsewhere. Those people get it from doing IM, and you maybe get it through "creative interests".
What I wanted to say is, if you actually felt this awesome feeling, you probably could relate more, and show more empathy for people who want to reach the same goal, just through different means.
Also you are a faggot because HURR DURR IRONMAN WASTE OF TIME IMA MAKE ORIGAMI!
Man i'm 20 years old and still didnt cover the distance of iron man...and that guy 70 years old did it in 7 hours... Our generation is so crap we have to fix it no more youtube no more video games we have to get action;p
@wilyoustay yeah because one man is indicative of a whole generation... it's awesome he can do it but one of the morals of the ironman is not to hold yourself above everyone else. Our generation may not be perfect, same as any other. I'm 20, ive covered the distance, not in a world-record time or anything, but I see no reason that I'm BETTER than those who haven't.
While competing in this someone would ask me during the marathon "have you hit your breaking point?" My answer would be "I hit my dam breaking point in the swimming, Im running on pure adrenaline now!!!"
@specialismensmentis You make it sound like 60 is old. maybe it use to be, but it isn't anymore. I know, because I am 59 next month! :-) I still do this shit on a regular basis.

One of the absolute best and most moving and inspiring motivational songs ever is "Undeniable" - (Instrumental Version). It is written & produced by JD Entertainment.
Where can you purchase "Undeniable" by JD Entertainment?
"Undeniable" by JD Entertainment is available online at the following locations: iTunes U.S., iTunes Australia/N.Z., iTunes Canada, iTunes UK/European Union, iTunes Japan, Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, GroupieTunes, Amazon MP3, Lala, Shockhound, and Amie Street
I've done 2 IronMan, 2 half Ironman and many sprints, when I see videos like this I just want to keep going, I wish I could afford not working and just do triathlons haha, but I have to work , oh well
matter of Opinion lol. They wouldnt be drinking it if it didnt work. Unless of course Gatorade was one of their sponsors. But haha. they wouldnt drink it if it didnt work
also, gatorade sponsors the race, and it's hard to carry 4-7 hours of calories on the bike, so they hand it out at aid stations. free drink, major product exposure.
i wanted so much to do this...but hey it'll probably take me more than a year training. coz i need to lose weight... im 103.6kg rite now. so i probably need to go down as much as 70.2kg...
youll need a year if you dont have to hold down a job, if your working aswell youll need about double. and the weight depends on how tall you are. i really want to do this aswell :) training already and im only 16
yeah ...that i have to agree ..damn... im working and schooling at the same time, prolly i need 2-3 years before my first ironman and in between i'll take up my first half iron.
im not that dedicated. ill probaply run the marathon. i think ill b dedicated to that. lol. maybe. who knows. ill sleep on it. dont want to lose muscle running
i dont think i could ever do it even if i was in the best shape in my life. i think il dehydrate becausei sweat easy and i sweat alot. when i work out easy 2-3 shirts covered with sweat
you dont have to wait too much time im 17 years old and i expect to do mi first half iron man in 3 years and mi first ironman in 8 or 7 you can do it if you want (sorry if my english is bad)
dont tell me what to do. i work out and run but just sweat to easy off anything. think its in my genes. but your FATASS friend is Still a FATASS friend.
well i stay the same weight even if i eat alot and stuff. i ran 6 miles straight one day and the 2 shirts i was wearing were soaked wet. i dont really care about it though.?? put im not skinny im 160
ohh in lb so you weigh the same as me. slight exageration but i know what you mean, there there really fit. but thats not enough they have hellish mental endurance.
When I started training for my ironman my coach said Id loose weight...bah humbug I weighed more at the end of the IM than before I started......but I felt better even with the remaining "handle bars" in tact. Maybe next time...
in kona i saw an 80 year old man fly past a super healthy looking 30 year old who was crawling towards the finish line. Then I saw a man missing a leg with a spring paddle attachment beat that same old man.. definitly broke my preconceptions..
One day, I want to be an Iron Man. If you can have the mental strength to not only accomplish that but train for it, you can accomplish anything in life. I want to do it for every person out there who cant do it. I want to do it for everyone who has AIDS or Cancer. I want to show them if a kid like me can do it, they can beat their illness.
my cousin take part in this year iron man contest in nice! XDXD ....he's soooo freaking crazy but we all really proud of him! 5km sweeming,180 km bike and 42 km run /sorry i don't know how is that in miles/ but oh wow for all these people all over the world that make such a great effort! iron men for real!
yes, true iron men, the greatest human body accomplishment ive know so far...i think the swimming is 2.1 mi, the biking is 114 mi, and the run is 26.2 mi, aka a marathon
something like this yes. i know that there is different stages the last one was with smaller distance than this one in nice:) i really hope to see some video of it soon:)
Check out the double Badwater Ultramarathon race. Two 137 mile runs back to back in Death VALLEY! Or adventure races that are days or weeks long. Or Navy SEALs Hell Week. Those are all greater achievements but Ironman is still badass.
one hundred and thirty seven?! is that right? i know about the seals, thats very impressive too, lol, i always thought that regular military men were in that kinda mental and physical shape, but now that they've set back on their requirements theres fat soldiers

nor is the training easy.

What drives people to do this? Are they changed after it? How are they changed from it?

Wish I could do an Iron Man, if only just once..
It is a true testament to the spirit

wish? you have some medical condition stopping you?
andthensome7 2 years ago
Your right... : )
How would one train (I'm guessing it takes loads of planning) for a feat like this.
I haven't got the first clue...
When did you do it and how did you train for it ?
Peekingduck 2 years ago
I've done 2 IronMan, 2 half Ironman and many sprints, when I see videos like this I just want to keep going, I wish I could afford not working and just do triathlons haha, but I have to work , oh well

Do any of these ppl drink pedialite? why are they all drinking gatorade that stuff is trash.
crimen 3 years ago
matter of Opinion lol. They wouldnt be drinking it if it didnt work. Unless of course Gatorade was one of their sponsors. But haha. they wouldnt drink it if it didnt work
Mustanghaven 3 years ago
also, gatorade sponsors the race, and it's hard to carry 4-7 hours of calories on the bike, so they hand it out at aid stations. free drink, major product exposure.
ESmaniac25 2 years ago
I only do olympic triathlons but everyone I know drinks mixtures of stuff. I stick about 5 different things in my "juice."

I hope that I will make an Ironman in 3 years
I've already finished a short distance (1,5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km running), and this was my first "season" :-)
My father and me we will try to do a Ironman-relay 2010, we are just searching someone for the biking discipline in our circle of friends :-)

i wanted so much to do this...but hey it'll probably take me more than a year training. coz i need to lose weight... im 103.6kg rite now. so i probably need to go down as much as 70.2kg...
any tips ???
hogandg 3 years ago
youll need a year if you dont have to hold down a job, if your working aswell youll need about double. and the weight depends on how tall you are. i really want to do this aswell :) training already and im only 16
muldron 3 years ago
yeah ...that i have to agree ..damn... im working and schooling at the same time, prolly i need 2-3 years before my first ironman and in between i'll take up my first half iron.
hogandg 3 years ago
I want to do an Ironman so bad. I have found though that the registration for one cost a lot so that is going to be a bigger hurdle than training.

you can do anything and everything

im not that dedicated. ill probaply run the marathon. i think ill b dedicated to that. lol. maybe. who knows. ill sleep on it. dont want to lose muscle running
CrazyBanana951 3 years ago
i dont think i could ever do it even if i was in the best shape in my life. i think il dehydrate becausei sweat easy and i sweat alot. when i work out easy 2-3 shirts covered with sweat
CrazyBanana951 3 years ago
Most humans are able to. You need to be very fit, be motivated and have the IronWill
Someday when im old enough i'll give this a shot
McBritish 3 years ago

CrazyBanana951 3 years ago

muldron 3 years ago
well i stay the same weight even if i eat alot and stuff. i ran 6 miles straight one day and the 2 shirts i was wearing were soaked wet. i dont really care about it though.?? put im not skinny im 160
CrazyBanana951 3 years ago
running 6 miles im not suprised most people would, and is that 160kg? and how tall are you? im 72 and im 6tf 4 so about 1.9 meters.
muldron 3 years ago
160lb. about 5ft 10-11. ima try to get in shape for a marathon. but these people run like 30 miles before a drop of sweat hits the floor. haha
CrazyBanana951 3 years ago
ohh in lb so you weigh the same as me. slight exageration but i know what you mean, there there really fit. but thats not enough they have hellish mental endurance.
muldron 3 years ago
When I started training for my ironman my coach said Id loose weight...bah humbug I weighed more at the end of the IM than before I started......but I felt better even with the remaining "handle bars" in tact. Maybe next time...

in kona i saw an 80 year old man fly past a super healthy looking 30 year old who was crawling towards the finish line. Then I saw a man missing a leg with a spring paddle attachment beat that same old man.. definitly broke my preconceptions..
fatphuck 3 years ago 2
One day, I want to be an Iron Man. If you can have the mental strength to not only accomplish that but train for it, you can accomplish anything in life. I want to do it for every person out there who cant do it. I want to do it for everyone who has AIDS or Cancer. I want to show them if a kid like me can do it, they can beat their illness.

thats good motivation for me, i wanna do it but i always thought of it as a personal goal, not for others, thanks

my cousin take part in this year iron man contest in nice! XDXD ....he's soooo freaking crazy but we all really proud of him! 5km sweeming,180 km bike and 42 km run /sorry i don't know how is that in miles/ but oh wow for all these people all over the world that make such a great effort! iron men for real!
kadaj1983 3 years ago
yes, true iron men, the greatest human body accomplishment ive know so far...i think the swimming is 2.1 mi, the biking is 114 mi, and the run is 26.2 mi, aka a marathon
iiceman14 3 years ago 2
something like this yes. i know that there is different stages the last one was with smaller distance than this one in nice:) i really hope to see some video of it soon:)
kadaj1983 3 years ago
Check out the double Badwater Ultramarathon race. Two 137 mile runs back to back in Death VALLEY! Or adventure races that are days or weeks long. Or Navy SEALs Hell Week. Those are all greater achievements but Ironman is still badass.
obscureluzername 3 years ago
one hundred and thirty seven?! is that right? i know about the seals, thats very impressive too, lol, i always thought that regular military men were in that kinda mental and physical shape, but now that they've set back on their requirements theres fat soldiers
