Another thing that sucks about Sonic Free Rider's menus is that the voice command is rendered practically useless, because if you want to know the name of what option you want, you have to have it highlighted by using the hand method, because the option's name only shows up when it's highlighted by hand.

It seems like all the good (accurate) games use 1 to 1 control, but Sonic riders and fighting uncaged use gesture based controls, maybe this is why they fail, and play badly.

Ah! Great you did the Kinect review. I share the exact sentiments. Though I must say the software lineup you choose to buy didn't help. I mean, Kinectimals is a... kids stuff game, and Sonic Free Riders and Fighters Uncaged are just terrible. The Kinect itself isn't bad per see, but it's third-party software lineup doesn't stands up great. Your review would have been much better if you had reviewed it with Kinect Sports, Kinect Joy Ride (terrible in my opinion) and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved.

I got a Kinect. Thankfully, I split the cost with my sister. $75 is a much better price for the Kinect.

I must say, at least with this, you can't cheat your way out of playing like with the Wii or the Move. You actually have to get up and move. So, with that, Kinect gets a:

You seem to be one of the "uneducated(or uninformed) buyers of Kinect." If you read some reviews, you could see that Fighters Uncaged is a horrible game. Kinect Adventures is only a starting game and doesn't have lasting appeal. About Sonic, I don't know. Maybe you didn't calibrate correctly. Good review, but you seemed very ignorant.

Fighters Uncaged and Sonic Free Riders are both functionally broken games. There isn't anything to do with "calibration"; they both have motion controls implemented poorly. Besides, when I know I'm going to review something, I intentionally avoid other reviews, so that I may form my own opinion without letting others affect my own.

All is cool but Hard to say Kinect was/is aimed for casual players so why best game on it Dance Central is not newbe friendly XD and (like for me) requires ton of practice to even pull it off (I'm so bad dancer) but still I had ton of fun playing it and freaking falling doing the move half of time XD

Yeah, strangely, the dance games are awesome, but the rest kind of suck. But there's a lot of better looking (read: not for infants) games coming out in 2011. I'm excited about Children of Eden especially. And, the issue with Netflix not working was a huge negative mark in my book as well, it's weird that the Kinect doesn't have one of its most advertised features.

Very nice, Jared. It's kinda bad when the only good game for the Kinect, which is just a stupid name in general, is a dancing game, not that there is anything wrong with that. It definitely looks like it could have serious potential down the road, say in 3-4 years, but right now, it's systematically flawed at best. I'm just waiting for Microsoft to put out a revised version of this in a year or so, like the Kinect 1.5 or 2.0 and it will be only "slightly" better then before.

@ChuckZ85 That is because, before mass production, Micro$oft inserted a budget-reduction plan in the project, removing it's processor (leaving the processing for the 360's processors instead), thus making the sensor check for changes only 30 times per second, as opposed 60 that it originally was. That's why you notice a very slight delay in the priferal's response. It just scans about 20 limbs parts. Also the 3D, high resolution camera had to be dropped, for a standard VGA resolution camera.
